Myself and 5 friends stayed at Hotel Casado in March 2023, we had two triple rooms which each had a double bed and a single bed. The rooms are slightly dated and on the small side, however had everything we needed for a great ski trip - realistically we didn't spend much time in the room as expected on a trip like this. The only downside of our whole experience was the room being really warm, especially at night, which made it hard to get a good nights sleep. Without air con the only option was to open the window, this did help with the heat although had the downside of then being woken by people leaving bars/clubs in the early hours. On check-in we paid for breakfast for each morning which we all agreed was a great investment ($5 per person, per day). This meant each morning we only had to stroll downstairs to fuel up on the buffet before hitting the slopes. The breakfast buffet had: a variety of breads/toast, bacon, scrambled eggs, cheese, ham, variety of pastries, yogurts, honey, cereal, milk, variety of juices, water and a coffee machine with a variety of hot drinks. We bought our ski passes before arriving through the Grandvalira website and this meant the staff on reception were able to print our passes there and then for us and saved us a trip to collect them from elsewhere. The hotel offers a locker per room which have plenty of space for skis, boots, helmet etc, and this locker room has a back door that you use each day to walk to the slopes. The walk is just round the corner from the slopes and is a massive highlight of the hotel. Any closer to the slopes and it'd be ski-in/ski-out. All of the staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful, especially on the last day in which we were allowed to keep one of our rooms later than the check-out time which enabled us to get an additional day of skiing before we left to travel back home. Thank you again for that! Overall Hotel Casado is a great choice for a base for your ski trip, don't expect the rooms to be luxury but instead think clean and comfortable with all the essentials. I'd recommend bringing ear plugs to avoid the noise with the windows open at night and highly recommend paying for the breakfast on arrival to allow you to get onto the slopes in the morning as quickly as possible. Thanks again for a great stay at Hotel Casado.
