What a special place! We visited Nine Skies as part of our honeymoon and having got to Nine Skies after a 5 hour train journey, Kasun and the team were on hand and made us feel so welcome. The quality of food and service, the colonial style of the building, the intimate size, the views and the amazing pool made our stay very special. Thank you so much we hope we will be back one day!

This property is beautiful! The views are spectacular! You are staying in the old tea managers bungalow and it is so quaint! I have loved every second of my time here! The food is delicious and everyone is so accommodating! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

Highly recommend Nine Skies! Perfect style and a relaxed comforting atmosphere. This fully remodel plantation house offers just 5 rooms, all charming and extremely comfortable. The service is impeccable and the breakfast, lunch and dinners are perfection! The hotel will arrange a tea plantation tour with a charming naturalist. Ride though the back hills in a classic old Land Rover and feel like you just went back in time. Learn about the fine art of picking tea and hear the fascinating tales of leopards and exotic birds.

Stunning property! Add this to the list of must-stay properties in Sri Lanka. The staff are so lovely, the food beautiful and the setting is just the cherry on top! It doesn’t even feel real. I truly believe this is the best option in the area being so conveniently located if you wish to catch the train from the beautiful Demodara station, visit Nine Arches, hike Little Adam’s Peak, walk through the Pekoe Trail and visit the bustling Ella town. I will say though, it’s incredibly hard to leave this place - you definitely need more nights than you think! We stayed 2 and could have easily done 4 and all the other guests we met there all said the same thing!

Nine Skies was everything we were looking for and more. We spent two nights there as we made our way through Sri Lanka. Overlooking the tea fields and Ella, it’s absolutely beautiful. But what really sets Nine Skies apart from other boutique hotels in the area was the staff and the level of service they provide their guests. So fantastic! The one area that could use some improvement is their wine/alcohol selection. The food is fine, but if you would like to pair your dinner with a nice wine, you should either bring that or reach out to them prior to your stay.

We had two nights as a family at Nine Skies and it was a highlight of our fortnight in Sri Lanka. The staff were amazing - so kind and helpful. They made a special effort to make our daughter’s birthday memorable, including dinner by the pool, lit by candles. The house itself is beautiful, the rooms are huge, and the food is really excellent. It’s an expensive place to stay, in a country with some great places to stay, but we loved it.

Fab stay - amazing service, delicious food and an interesting visit to nearby tea factory by tuk tuk. Location was stunning on a hill in a tea estate. We had 2 rooms for a family of 5, but could even have all fit into the master suite it was so big. Thank you to the whole team at nine skies!

Idyllic location, wonderful food (and wine) and superb staff. Nine Skies is in a great location above Demodara looking over the railway line and with views to die for over the surrounding hills. Well located for Ella and Nine Arches bridge but you could quite easily never leave the property which has 1, 2 and 4 hour walks from the front door. The food is exceptional and they also serve some very nice wines (all inclusive). The staff are all lovely and very professional, attentive without being intrusive. Special mention must go to Udara and Harsha with Saman always there to check whether there is anything else you need. Already planning our next visit!

This place is so special. High up in the hills, with the most spectacular views. The rooms are all different. Ours looked out over the gardens at the front. It was easy to get to the railway and also into Ella to see Nine Arches Bridge. The staff were brilliant. I left something in my room when we left, and they called me straight away and helped me to arrange to retrieve it. They were so kind.
