Cleopatra Beach

We've just returned to the UK after a lovely week spent at the Cleopatra Beach Hotel in Geni. We had a thoroughly relaxing time. 28 or 29 degrees every day, 14 - 21 September. For us, there was nothing to fault the hotel for. A very attractive establishment, the location on the waterfront was simply stunning. Our room was very comfortable and was cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis. It had a fabulous view overlooking the pool, with the sea and the mountains in the background. Simply lovely. The grounds were very well kept and the pool was excellent. The inclusive breakfasts provided a great range of choice. Poolside snacks and drinks were served throughout the day too, and bottles of water could be purchased from the hotel too, which was handy as there were no shops nearby. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful. There were no more than 20 to 30 guests at any one time, a slightly older crowd, couples, mainly Dutch, German/Austrian, and Scandinavian from what we could see, with a Romanian couple there too. We were the only British people, though English and Greek were the languages used at the hotel. The local Desimi Beach was about 15-20 min walk away. Lovely location, beautiful pebble beach with clear water and trees growing along it for extra shade. As it was mid-September it was not too busy, which we really appreciated. It has a few tavernas and the Kantina beachside cafe that we particularly liked. A lovely woman runs that. In the small hamlet of Geni, a 15-minute walk or so from the hotel, there are three or four tavernas serving excellent food. Lots of cats everywhere! Our favourite place was the Taverna Dimitris positioned in a spectacular setting overlooking the sea. A very friendly family-run eatery, 3 generations. Excellent food...we especially loved the grilled sardines and the orange cake with vanilla ice cream, which was to die for! We went back there time and time again. We did not rent a car as we were happy just to relax, chill, and soak up the local atmosphere, but we would recommend that you hire one if you wanted to explore the island in more depth. There are no buses running locally. The very bustling and touristy town of Nydri was a 10 min taxi ride away (10 euros each way) We paid 60 euros each way for a taxi from the airport to the hotel, 45 mins away. We did do an island boat trip, which was good. It took us to some of the spectacular beaches on the west coast and over to Fiskardo on nearby Kefalona too, which was a great place to hang out for a few hours. If you are after a wild time this place is really not for you, but if you want peace and relaxation and value for money then it is a wonderful place to spend a few days.

Beautiful hotel so peaceful and quiet in a tranquil setting . We went in August and the most round the pool in one day was 6 people ! It was very relaxing . 4 Amazing Greek tavernas about a 15 min walk away. Desimi beach 20 min walk or the bustling town on Nidri a 15 min taxi which cost €10. A lot of people rented a car because of location but we didn’t and still got about. Hotel was spotless and clean , staff were amazing so friendly and helpful. Only thing was no tea/coffee facilities in the room but throat was the only downside. Pool was massive and had it to ourselves most days. Would highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful break.

cleopatra beach hotel is a wonderful accommodation in a peaceful environment. very hospitable staff and good service. perfect cleanliness. you have wonderful rooms, a beautiful garden and swimming pool in a great place, and a divine view

Clean rooms and premises, wonderful view, great garden, friendly staff, extensive breakfast, flexible and service orientated, not too busy, quiet and excellent for a relaxing holiday! Enjoyed every day.. Cold water bubble jacuzzi was heaven on the warm days..

Everything about this hotel is great, the location, the rooms, the staff. It is very quiet and situated by the beach where you can rent a boat to further explore the island of Lefkada, such as Skorpios, Meganisi and others. We have been there twice in 2019 and 2021 and really enjoyed our time.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel, per una settimana. La posizione è molto bella, dalla nostra camera vedevamo la baia di Geni ed era molto rilassante. Inoltre l' hotel ha una piscina con affaccio proprio sulla baia. Gli unici punti negativi sono la colazione che noi non avevamo ma l'unica mattina che l' abbiamo fatta non ci è sembrato un granché, sicuramente non da 25 euro come l' abbiamo pagata e il fatto che a volte abbiamo dovuto fare la doccia fredda, perché non veniva l'acqua calda. We hebben hier een heerlijke vakantie gehad. Er zijn inderdaad wat trappen die je moet nemen, maar valt best mee. Rustig gelegen kleinschalig hotel aan een binnen meer ( baai van de zee), met een zwembad om lekker af te koelen. In de ochtend een lekker ontbijt. Aan het einde van de middag lekker bijkomen op de ligbedjes bij het hotel uitkijkend op het meer. Bij de bar is wat drinken te bestellen, wat wil je nog meer tijdens vakantie. Er zat een moter bootje bij de huur van hotel. Dit was een leuke toevoeging om de omgeving per boot te verkennen. Bij een baai aan te leggen en te genieten van het mooie weer. Afgezien van de restaurants in Geni zijn wij geen restaurants tegen gekomen in de diverse baaitjes om wat te eten/ drinken. Het hotel ligt in Geni, wat een klein plaatsje is, met 4 restaurants. Je mag na 18.00 niet meer met de moter boot het meer op, dus wij waren blij dat we een auto gehuurd hadden en ' s avonds naar Nidri konden per auto. De afstand naar Nidri is ongeveer 7 km. Hier zijn vele restaurants. Qua bediening steekt Appolon er boven uit. Bediening erg vriendelijk en lopen letterlijk het vuur uit hun sloffen, zo hard werken ze daar. Leuk om naar Poros beach, te gaan een flinke slinger rit per auto.,het vissersdorpje Sivota en naar het " surfers paradijs" Fasiliki.

Hôtel parfaitement situé avec vue exceptionnelle sur la baie de Géni. Au calme, à l’écart de l’agitation de Nidri.
