Very bad experience... Though this hotel has nice rooms but they could improve drastically on services.. You won't find a single person for help if you need anything at night. One of the Staff is very very rude, arrogant and stingy. She has no manners on how to speak with guests. We were having fruits in breakfast and since we had a bus to catch so when we tried to take those fruits with us (apples & pear) but that arrogant manager asked us to leave the fruits in their hotel only saying ”you can't pack your lunch” here. I mean common, grow up!! We are not kids, we travel the world. Keeping 2-3 fruits for a family of 5 is not packing lunch for god's sake. On the top of it, she pasted a circular in the breakfast area that this food is not for packing lunch, bla bla, the very next morning. And even of you are not generous, at least learn some basic manners of communication. You can't shout at your guests and there is a way to politely inform the same. We have never experienced such a horrible hospitality anywhere. Please stay away from this hotel at any cost.

Looking for a relaxing break in the Swiss Alos, close to the slopes, I found this little gem: a hotel, pretty rustique in the traditional Swiss way! Not far from the heart of Engelberg but far enough to contemplate the sky, see the stars and hear only the heartbeat of nature. Clean, very very clean, with comfortable rooms, not big, just comfy, most with a balcony overviewing the village. Staff, super nice and polite, ready to help and advise: had a 10% discount in my ski rental and anytime I wanted to go skiing they got in the minivan and took me to the resort! The restaurant was also nice, with delicious dishes and a savvy wine list. Not to miss! Only point I would like to note, the breakfast buffet: every day the same, not always fresh fruits available. Would like some variety and some chocolate croissants, please! Overall, a must go!

Great and clean room, nice spa, but super disappointed by both restaurants. Upon arrival, reception recommended me to book a table. I was a bit surprised as I was solo and it was far from high season, but ok. They told me that the restaurant I wanted to book was full at 7:00pm, so I choosed 7:30. Was then quite surprised to arrive at 7:30 and find an almost empty restaurant (3 tables only with 2-3 guests each were occupied). The day after, as I was not sure when I'll be ready for dinner, I decided not to book. I showed up at 8:00 pm in the other restaurant. Was quite optimistic as it seemed there were as few people as the day before in the other restaurant. But then, the guy in charge told me they were fully booked and I had to come back half an hour later. After looking at the tables, I looked at him repeating ”you are fully booked” and he said yes. So I left and end up eating small things I had in my room. I am not sure if it was pure sexism, as I am a woman and alone, but definitely not the expected level from Kempiski. Will never return again.

We had one night here en route to the south, but would like to come back and explore the area further. We thought that the room rate and breakfast were excellent value, particularly for Switzerland. The hotel has been well maintained to a good 4 star level (it's a 5 star review, but for a 4 star hotel). Nice, old fashioned decor (1890s Belle Epoque meets 1980s), lovely people at reception, a grand room for the restaurant (not used) and for breakfast) and very comfortable beds. We will return!

What a wonferful hotel and friendly staff. They really did the extra step to make us feel very welcome and at home. The room was clean, nice and what a fabulous view, we did not want to close the curtains. The little extra details really made a difference, the coffiee machine in the room, the little light that went off during the night if you stepped out of bed etc. Breakfast was good and the food as well. We will come back

PPengguna TetamuWow, what a location and hostel!! Our room was absolutely gorgeous with a stunning balcony view of the mountains. The bunk beds were cute and it was pretty spacious. Great location in the town of Engelberg, walkable to town and restaurants as well as the lift up to Mt. Titlis. The fondu on the first night was the perfect welcome to Switzerland. Left wanting to stay another night and hopefully get to come back someday!

Very stylish renovated hotel, keeping the old heritage. The room was small but comfy with nice view.
The hotel parking is 15.- per night, what is okay.
The management has chosen to implement 2G rule (German shortening for vaccinated/recovered), although according Federal Covid-19 ordinance, this only applies for hotel’s restaurant/bar. This should be more clear stated on the booking site.

PPengguna TetamuThank you for a wonderful stay at your charming hotel. We arrived with reservations to an engleberg hotel in Germany! Yet the kind staff were able to accommodate us even though the hotel was very full. We enjoyed the use of the children’s playroom where our 2 year old granddaughter had lots of fun on one rainy afternoon. Our room was clean and spacious with a comfy bed and a delicious breakfast. We had to mail the room key back to them when we realized on the train to Murren that we had not returned it when we checked out! We are usually much better guests than that. I guess it was time to head home and stop traveling!
