Kasbah Hotel Xaluca Arfoud

Expansive Moroccan Kasbah theme hotel located close to entrance to Sahara. You will encounter Moroccan traditional lamps, potteries and decors everywhere you turn. Very nice swimming pool in the center courtyard. The bathroom sink in the room is fabricated from a chunk of rock imbedded with million year old fossils. Other fossil statuesque was on display in hotel too. This area was underwater millions of year ago. Abundant fossils are being found in the nearby hills. Photo wall in hotel lobby implies that Hidalgo, Sahara and John Wick 3 were filmed there.

Excellent experience. Stayed 1 night whilst touring Morocco. Hotel done out in the Moroccan style, very quirky. It was clean and comfortable, even with its quirky decor in the room.  Food was excellent and really hot (first time in Morocco). Pool area OK and good bar. It's an excellent base to explore the dunes and see them either at sunrise or sunset. Only downside was the high step up to the bathroom. Watch out in the night.

I stayed 2 nights at the Kasbah and even though the hotel is beautiful, there a 2 things fundamentally wrong with it. Food is not up to scratch and the staff is rude. I have been to Morocco many times and people are always lovely but there NO...they have an attitude when you ask a question. shame when you have such a beautiful location.

This hotel is used by many tour groups before a night over in the Sahara. It is at the edge of town, so you can’t walk anywhere. They have lots of amenities, like a great outdoor pool, a super nice indoor pool, tennis, and mini-golf, to name a few things. My room was spacious, with a sitting area, a comfortable bed under a beamed ceiling, a fridge, coffee pot and nice bathroom. Unfortunately, there was no coffee provided, only tea. The bathroom had a slight off odor, maybe of sewage, so I opened the window. There is a bar and a large buffet dinner with lots of choices, mostly Moroccan dishes. The meat in the tagine was really tender and the chickpeas were delicious. Breakfast also offers a wide selection of pastries, eggs and other breakfast items. The hotel is large so pay attention to where your room is….lots of signs directing you to the right room. Palm trees line the outdoor pool, in addition to lots of seating areas. Note that the electricity goes off somewhere in the night, so if you have to use the bathroom, keep a phone or flashlight near your bed. Otherwise, it is pitch black.

Talk about being in a hotel with the ambiance of Morocco. We stayed here for 2 nights with Gate One. We had issues with the toilet not working and cold water in our shower. It was quickly resolved by hotel staff. Great grounds and pools. Love the camels out front. All dining service is via buffet. Tons of choices. Really enjoyed our stay here.

Beautiful rooms with beautiful bathrooms that have unique fossil counters. The rooms are very uniquely decorated, but when it came to the beds they could have done better. The beds are mounted on cement platforms, which caused us to stub our toe several times. But the worse part was the extremely firm mattresses. The WiFi was nonexistent. Hotel hallways at night are very dark and a little light would be helpful.

Beautiful hotel in the middle of nowhere, but beds are like rocks. The concept for the Xaluca hotels are very nice and they are quite beautiful. The rooms are very nicely decorated, but when it came to the beds they failed. The beds are mounted on cement platforms, which most people stub their toe at least once. But the worse part for me was the extremely hard mattresses. I had sore hips and back for days. I felt like I was in the land of the Flintstones. Food in the dining room was just average to poor. It did not seem very Moroccan to me and they did not keep the buffet warm through out the evening. Touristy type of food.

This is a hotel chain. THe property is huge. The further you go down the hallways, the darker and darker it was. I wish they would leave the lights on all the time. BUt they turn it off during the day and when they think that everyone is in bed already. It would be trip hazard not having lights on all the time. Internet is non-existent in the rooms. I had to go to reception to get the sketchy internet connection. They need to fix that. Pretty when you are not looking to carefully. But see signs of wear and stains on the lounges around the pool. Their only gift shop is open rarely. I was hoping that it would be open when travellers are coming in (i.e. early in am and early evening when travellers have nothing to do). There are a lot of tour groups staying here. It would help their business. Instead they were open for an hour from 12-1 pm. Doesn't make sense. Rooms were comfortable otherwise The bedroom door locks are tricky. One of the travellers couldn't get out of their rooms and needed hotel staff to open the door for them. Food was ok, buffet style Rooms were quiet and clean

stunning (when you consider the price) My first time in Morocco. Some hassles on arrival with Errachadia Passport control … Buy I’m impressed. The hotel has genuinely lovely staff. Super polite. The pool (Nov 2024) too cold to swim in … but attractive. I’d strongly recommend this hotel.
