We were so excited to spend four nights at El Conquistador, but our stay was cut short due to a series of unfortunate events. Don't be fooled by the online photos and reviews. This place is a far cry from its former glory. From the moment we arrived, it was clear something was amiss. Our initial room reeked of mold, and the replacement wasn't much better. To make matters worse, the air conditioner in the second room was broken. Exhausted and desperate for sleep, I reluctantly settled in. The next day, we ventured to Palomino Island, only to find that the waters were murky and uninviting. By this point, I was ready to pack up and leave. But with over $300 a night invested, I felt compelled to give it another chance. So, I requested a third room. Unfortunately, our luck didn't improve. The battery in the entrance door died, leaving us stranded outside in the sweltering heat. After several frustrating minutes, a maintenance worker finally arrived to unlock the door. As a last-ditch effort, the hotel offered us an ”upgraded” room. However, the damage was already done. The constant inconveniences and poor service made it impossible to enjoy our vacation. I wouldn't recommend staying here even if it were free. The last room didn’t even had shower gel, the employees seemed miserable and overworked, and the resort itself feels outdated and neglected. The only bright spot was the friendly bartender on the rooftop bar. She was a breath of fresh air amidst the chaos. But unfortunately, her positive attitude couldn't outweigh the numerous negative experiences. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere. This is not the relaxing getaway you deserve.”
