Emelisse Nature Resort

Been a long time since we went but had to leave a review for this gorgeous paradise in Fiskardo on the island of Kefalonia. My partner and I had a wonderful time lazing by the adults only pool and enjoying the wonderful views, especially from the terrace at the breakfast area. We booked a room with a shared “private” pool but found it was unnecessary as the adults only area was perfect for couples looking to unwind in peaceful surroundings and incredible infinity pool views. The staff here were amazing and the service and food wonderful. My one disappointment was no real Greek classics to speak of in the evening restaurant. I thought it was trying a bit too hard to do fine dining when there is no need. I came to Greece to eat the wonderful Greek cuisine, fortunately the wonderful tavernas in Fiskardo were able to provide this which is a short walk away. Also a short walk is the wonderful emblisi beach. I couldn’t resist a daily dip. The breakfast area is a delightful place to start the day. I would thoroughly recommend although perhaps not for families. It’s more a coupes spa retreat. Word of warning. The journey to the resort is not for those who have an issue with heights.

We had an intimate wedding here in May and we loved every minute of it. Every aspect was perfect and we were very lucky to have Jenny planning it for us. Everyone at Emelisse was great throughout our stay and especially on our wedding day. We wouldn't have changed anything about our stay here. Thank you so much to all the hotel staff and to Jenny for making our wedding day perfect.

You have to stay here if you go to Kefalonia. I have just got back from a week to Kefalonia and can't wait to go again. Beautiful hotel, excellent location and the views are amazing. The hotel offers a shuttle to the beach which is only a 5 minute walk. They also offer a shuttle to Fiskardo bay every evening. The rooms were clean, and tidy but the beds were quite hard. Staff were really friendly, and the hotel just feels very relaxed, clam and Greek it was lovely.

Lovely hotel in a fantastic location with a serene, calm and relaxing vibe. The room was large and nicely decorated with a shared private pool. The main pool area is beautiful with lovely views and the large pool is perfect for a swim. The second pool is excellent for lengths so its great to have the choice. The staff are friendly and always there when needed, never intrusive. The restaurant is great for an evening meal and there was lots of excellent options at breakfast. Shout out to Gia, whose cocktails are out of this world - highly recommended. Its a very short walk to Emplisi Beach, which is completely empty for an early morning swim but does get quite crowded later in the day. You can also swim from the rocks at the hotel, which is lovely. The walk into Fiskardo is just 15 mins (there's a bus from the hotel to bring you to and fro if you don't fancy the walk). I am already planning a return visit.

We absolutely loved this hotel and were very sad to leave after only 2 nights. Such a stunning place! The situation of the hotel is amazing; with the pool area overlooking the sea, the path down the rocks where you can jump in from the steps. They also have sun chairs there. It was lovely to walk down to the beautiful public beach as well, where you also can buy ice cream, drinks etc. To have Fiskardo so close by was very nice. The pizza night was very much appreciated; good food, beautiful setting! We would love to come back!

I've really struggled to write this review. In the interest of fairness, I have therefore gone into a lot of detail to assist other future guests to ensure this might be the right hotel for them. To be clear this place has masses of potential, but they advertise as 5 star when it is really an average 4 star. We have stayed in many 5 star hotels, in Greece, and this is way below the standard we have experienced elsewhere. I’ll start with the positives: the hotel is very clean, our room was always spotless, the views and location of the hotel are stunning. The food at lunchtime and of an evening is very good quality and portions are very generous. The sun beds are super comfy, with proper deep comfy cushions. The orange juice at breakfast is lovely - I think it must be freshly squeezed. In fact all the food we ate was very nice at the hotel - with the exception of room service. The rocks area is just dreamy for sea swimming and views. What lets the Emilisse down firstly is service. Don’t get me wrong, some staff work super hard, but some appear just plain lazy. We arrived at 3pm and by the time we had unpacked and made it to the pool it was 5pm. We sat down and flagged down a waiter and asked for two drinks. Note - we flagged them down - they never, not once throughout our entire 7 night stay offered drinks to us or any other guests that we could see. The pool was about 50% full at this time and there were quite a few staff. Most were standing around chatting to each other or looking at their phones. After ordering, we waited 40 minutes for drinks and only then got them after I chased them up. Not a great start but we thought maybe it was a one-off. Sadly, it wasn’t. Staff seem to get very confused even if you do manage to order and on multiple occasions we witnessed them ‘losing’ guests when delivering drinks. The guests hadn’t moved, it’s just I think they take so long to be made and delivered the staff had forgotten where people were sitting! Our main gripe is the adults pool. It is a lovely area but there is ZERO service. No drinks, no food, just nothing. We sat here for 3 days out of our 6 and it was always the same. The hotel are missing out on huge revenue opportunity here! We would have spent hundreds of euros more across the week had we been able to order drinks easily. As it was, we filled our water bottles and made do with them. If they proactively offered guests drinks they would make so much money. We once went to reception and asked if we could have a coffee which was delivered, but we felt awkward and didn’t ask again and it was never offered after that either. What really annoyed us was most days, by 11am, the cushions and towels are still not put on the sun beds by the adults pool - if you want these, you have to go behind the unmanned and unused bar area and put them on yourself. They are pretty heavy some a struggle for some older guests and we found ourselves being a little younger assisting older guests. Not really what
