By far one of the best hotels in Florence, we had been to the city several times, in old classic style hotels, which is quite typical in Florence given its status as a Renaissance city, but this is ANOTHER LEVEL. To start, we looked for a hotel that was not in the historic center, since we were in our own large vehicle and we knew that you cannot drive around the center too much. For this, the Ruby Bea is one of the best options. Located on the avenue that surrounds Florence and allows perfect circulation, getting to the hotel has been super easy and parking too. The hotel is on a square that is currently (summer 2024) under construction which makes traffic a bit complicated. But it is perfect to access with your own vehicle. Walking from the hotel, in less than 15 minutes we were in the city center, going through beautiful and very safe streets. The hotel is AMAZING, the modern, chic, artistic and somewhat bohemian but very young atmosphere seemed incredible to us, it is clearly a hotel for young people, especially couples without children in our opinion. The lobby areas are varied and all very welcoming, full of art, books and antiques, allowing you to sit at the bar with friends or go to a more secluded corner to read or chat while enjoying one of their many spectacular signature cocktails. All the staff is very young, and the idea of the hotel is that the team is at your complete disposal for whatever you need, since as everything is automated and online (check-in, check-out, etc.) they are not busy with administrative tasks. It is a super friendly team at your disposal 24 hours a day. The rooms are great, modern, perhaps with a little limited space to store clothes, but it is fine for luggage for up to 7 days. Large and very comfortable bed, various pillows of all kinds, which for me is an issue every time I travel and in this hotel I have slept incredibly. Super good air conditioning, strong and fast, you hardly have to wait to cool your room when it's 40 celsius degrees outside. Everything is very modern and stylish, especially the shower with visible glass that can be closed for more privacy, and even the room includes a Marshall amplifier in case you feel like playing some guitar chords, an instrument that you can request for free at reception, or even play yourself in the hotel lobby if you are bold enough and feel like it. As said, a modern, bohemian chic hotel, for creative, artistic, tech savvy and open-minded people. Very complete buffet breakfast and restaurant, with options that are hard to find in many 5-star hotels in the world, such as different types of animal or vegetable milk, many types of cereals and fruits, different types of bread, and even lemon and ginger shots to prepare your stomach for what you are going to eat... so popular that they run out quickly! Although you can always ask for more if there are none available. In short, one of the best hotel experiences my partner and I have had, with whom we have tr
A fabulous hotel, from the excellent staff to the wonderful facilities and the location. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. Particularly Roberto, Ariana and Simone. The spa is excellent, and although we only used the pool, it was a must after walking in the Florence heat in August! The hotel is a small distance from the old city, but we’d recommend the “members club”, which costs €10 per day per adult (over age 12). The mini trolley only takes 15 minutes-ish into town, and is a great way to get a feel for the city. Pick ups can be arranged at reception. Breakfast was good, and we had one of the adjoining apartments for a family of four. All the rooms and facilities are modern and clean, even if the shower is a bit quirky! Overall we would highly recommend Hotel Grifone. There is a sister hotel to the west of the old town where you are welcome to rest, use WiFi etc etc. Highly recommended.
The hotel is within walking distance from the Cathedral/ historical city. The hotel has parking space available that needs to be booked in advance. We had big room with view on the garden. It was quite, nice and clean. The room we had has also kitchenette. If next time in Florence I will first try to book room in this hotel.

Super nice hotel. We stayed in a classic room which was a bit small but tastefully decorated. Small kettle in the room with several tea options was a nice touch. The room window has a wooden door that when closing it, it totally blocks the light from outside. I loved it! The view from our room was of green hills and a small field of olive trees. So beautiful and so peaceful! The room, the bathroom and the all hotel area were spotless clean. I have stayed in hotels were sometimes the room is a bit dusty or the bathroom’s utensils are with spots, but in Villa Neroli it was totally the opposite, their cleaning standard were higher than usual. My only advice for improvement for the hotel is to fill the room with more bathroom supplies like body lotion, shower cap and soft tissue. There weren’t any of them and I needed to go to reception and ask for supply. Breakfast- really liked everything that was offered. All products were fresh and of high quality. The bread, the coffee, the amazing fruit salad, the yogurts and everything else were very good. There was even a corner with carrots, pineapple and ginger to prepare fresh juice and a self service pancake machine. Location- the hotel isn’t located in the center of Florence but it is about a 10-15 minutes drive from the center. Since I came with my car it was perfect for me. The hotel has an outdoor free parking, which was extremely convenient . The neighborhood o the hotel is a residential one. It doesn’t have the lively atmosphere of Florence center, but I didn’t mind about it and suited me perfectly. Last but no least I want to note highly the lovely staff of the reception. What a team! Always polite, helpful and genuinely nice. I liked them a lot. Thank you for making my stay a pleasant and memorable.
It was a nice hotel...staff was good...though a little away from florence station but was easily accessible by bus or by foot...walking distance to station is around 30mins...staff is very welcoming n helpful...staff always having a smile making the atmosphere very positive.. in short a nice hotel..added advantage the staff was informative about city..which made life easy for tourist..bus stop is just outside the hotel...
I stayed here to attend a technical conference at the nearby university (within walking distance). I received a very good price 140 euros/night for 7 nights. My room (top floor) didn't have a big huge bathroom, a big huge desk, an in-room safe, a clock, or a BIG HUGE PRICE! The supplied liquid soap is in little packets which I found hard to open (arthritis) -- had I known, I'd have brought a bar of soap. It did have a small effective refrigerator and an air-conditioner. So why is this rating 5 instead of 3 (very basic hotel)? Very quiet except that the hotel is on a road to a nearby hospital (you may hear ambulances). The friendliness, courtesy, and helpfulness of all personnel (who speak fluent English)! The phone system for wake-up calls was on the fritz, so the night manager came upstairs to rap on my door 3am departure day to roust me, and made sure of a taxicab to FLR. The included breakfast is rolls, cereal, beverages, cheese, ham, and soft-boiled eggs. During normal hours, take tram T2 from FLR to central station, transfer tram T1 to Poggetto, cross tram tracks and walk 0.5 km to hotel (”HOTEL” in block letters sticks out from building). To reach sights of city, take T1 from Pisacane (twin stop to Poggetto, about 200m farther west through a ”tunnel,” to Valfonda and walk. Internet computer is in little room off lobby. Once when it wasn't working, hotelier apologized and gave me a Coke Zero for free out of the little beverage cooler in the lobby. There is an elevator.
Great room with lovely balcony, reception staff were amazing - nothing was too much trouble, directions, ordering taxis etc etc ! Breakfast was great, location a little way off the centre but as a result much much quieter. Thoroughly recommended.
Yes. Liked this place. It's marketed as a B&B so I've rated based against that. It certainly has a bit of a B&B/ boutique hotel crossover model. But the breakfast was good. It was a well kept and comfortable communal and reception area. We were kindly provided with a small free upgrade on our room and the junior suite provided was great. Comfortable four poster bed. A small Balcony overlooking the street. Beautiful large bath and 'his and hers' sinks behind a screen. The walk in shower was very hi tech, with a wonderful steam room function! Modern tv with Prime Video app installed. The The staff were attentive and offered a personal touch via WhatsApp messaging. Only minor negatives were- Tea and coffee making facilities weren't great. Would have been good to have a coffee machine. The TV sound suffered a bit for being behind the fancy aesthetic glass wall- could perhaps do with a soundbar. A little bit of a walk from the centre but not too bad if you're fit and able.. All in all though very good and a lovely room.
Initially we found Palazzo San Lorenzo a little off the beaten track and that the residential nature of the neighborhood meant there were few adjacent restaurants however as our time in Florence evolved we found the peaceful and calm atmosphere a welcome respite from the crowds and intensely busy atmosphere of central Florence. Everyone was very gracious, the spaces were very tasteful and relaxing, the garden a delight and breakfast was delicious. The service was attentive and accommodating. I highly recommend Palazzo Scan Lorenzo but be prepared for the added expense of taxis to and from central Florence. ( around 10 Euro each way ).

PPengguna TetamuMy wife and I enjoyed our vacation in Florence, and staying at Matteo's welcoming and cozy place was part of this wonderful experience. We booked the Family/Deluxe room directly through their website, which made it convenient to communicate with the host to ask about the room choice, arrival process, etc. through WhatsApp in real-time. The room on the second floor was spacious and very quiet (the latter was particularly important since we are both light sleepers). The Villa was within walking distance of the Florence Historical Center, a nice 25-30 min stroll to the main attractions. Matteo took his time to give us an overview of the city and recommendations about museums, historical landmarks, and restaurants (including those off the beaten path). We also took a day trip to Siena and Mateo helped a great deal to plan the itineraries including what to see on the way to Siena and where to stop for dinner. It was also nice to interact with other B&B guests during daily breakfasts, served by David who spoke several languages and was kind and attentive to all questions and requests. Since there is so much left to see in Florence and nearby towns, and if we come back to Florence, we will definitely stay at this B&B place again.
We had high expectations for this small hotel. It was alright, and the room was nice and clean, everything you expect from a hotel with these prices. Something we really wish we where informed about was the loud music from the bar EVERY NIGHT from 18.00-00.00. So if you’re room is facing the bar, bring earplugs. The hotel also provided us with a list of restaurants the recommended. We tried two of them, with disappointing results. One of them, treated us so badly. It was clear they didn’t like tourists. We left feeling like they really didn’t like us. The other place was closed on mondays (which should be informed) The second last night we got a voucher for one free cocktail in the bar (because it really didn’t seem like anyone was visiting the bar… which is why I don’t understand why the music played so long every night) we didn’t use it and I’m glad, since we overheard a couple complaining that the where only allowed a drink and not a cocktail which the voucher did indeed say. The manager really didn’t seem to care much about their complaint and suggestion to change the cocktail voucher to drink, but still ended up giving them their money back (not with a smile and service if you ask me) They also inform you that there’s free parking with the hotel, but that’s only if there’s a spot available. Otherwise you’ll be doomed to roam around the side streets until you find a spot.. So all in all, it’s a nice place, but I’m not sure it’s worth your money. I would pay less for a more service-minded hotel - closer to the city center.
PPengguna TetamuThis is a lovely little B&B. It's very clean with generous sized rooms with a little fridge, TV and loads of wardrobe/storage space. The host was very kind and was very keen to make sure we had everything we needed and were happy. It's a good 30 min walk into the heart of Florence and 15 mins from the closest train station. There is a lovely cafe just down the road. There aren't many places to eat nearby and with it being a bit out of the way, it's not really a place you can nip back to change or rest before going back out.
Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Camere pulitissime e accoglienti.
I hate to write bad reviews but I have to be honest. The hotel staff was great. The room was small but that is understandable. After all, we were in walking distance to Florence! After our afternoon exploring, we came back to the hotel to rest up for the next day. And then the nightmare began. The reason our room was so small was because when they designed the hotel, they simply placed the elevator inside the room and then surrounded the elevator shaft with drywall. Since we were on the top floor, we could not only hear the elevator going up and down, we got to hear the mechanics of the wheels and pulleys at the top of the elevator. When I complained, I was told that there were no other rooms available. I hate to say that I did not handle the situation very well, and I apologize for that, but I would NOT recommend this hotel, as you might end up sleeping with the elevator.
PPengguna TetamuWe had a lovely stay at Lorena Suites. The staff were so friendly and helpful despite my embarrassing lack of Italian. Our room was large and beautifully decorated with plenty of places to store our items. It was clean with an excellent cold shower - just what you need after exploring all day in 40 degree heat! Air conditioning was also very welcome as was the well stocked mini bar - this felt reasonably priced in comparison with local shops and provided a few local Italian aperitivo as well. We had a balcony which offered an excellent view of the sunset over the tuscan countryside. When we arrived and realised we were on the 5th floor, I was very grateful to note there was a lift available to take us and our bags up. Lorena is roughly 20 minutes walk from the duomo but you aren’t too far from other points of interest. We spent €10 in a taxi to get there from Santa Maria Novella station and it was €18 to get back and the host was very helpful in arranging this taxi back for us. When we arrived, the taxi driver pointed out a restaurant on the corner (out of the gates and turn left) which he said offered the best bistecca in Florence. We were dubious but tried anyway and it was incredible - if you want authentic Italian cuisine and company would highly recommend skipping the walk back into the busier areas and going here instead. It is worth noting that some of the rooms face onto quite a busy main road. While this was not an issue at night, in the morning this was quite loud from early on - best to make sure the shutters are fully closed as we found this (plus a couple of bottle of chianti Classico) made for a peaceful lie in. All in all we had a wonderful stay in Lorena Suites, all was fantastic and we cannot wait to find an excuse to come back and visit!
I think that based on the variability of the posted reviews, the experience is likely highly dependent on which room the visitor receives. I was in the attic loft, room 111, and could not have been happier. A spacious, modern room, the air conditioning was excellent (which was very important given this year's heat waves). Very quiet. No fridge, but that wasn't a big deal. Checking in was a bit goofy. I arrived at noon and the front door was locked and no one was at the front desk. I managed to get in and was confronted by a cleaning lady who chastised me for coming before check-in time. I indicated that I did not care to check in and was happy to dump my bags and head out to Florence. All good. But someone with different expectations would be miffed. Breakfast is modest but perfectly adequate...much better than what one gets at a budget motel in the States. Again, expectations. If you expect a large, hot breakfast buffet, you need to check into a much more expensive property.
