Absolutely loved my stay at The Lovat. Tif at reception was wonderful. Convenient location and a lovely breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

This was my second time to The Lovat, and I will most certainly be staying there again if we’re ever back in Fort Augustus. The location is fabulous, and the rooms are beautifully decorated and so comfortable. My partner and I unfortunately got sick during our stay, and the staff were so kind to us and offered to do anything they could to help. We stayed in one of the garden rooms, and I love the feeling it provides of staying in your own little tiny house, with a table and chairs on the porch to enjoy a drink and watch the sunset. Parking was very easy (onsite), and we were easily and quickly able to walk into town.

Lovely two night stay at the Lovat hotel, front of house staff were exceptional, really enjoyed the breakfasts, rooms and interior stylish, spacious with sumptuous beds in a beautiful period building. Great food, great location, Great everything. we will definitely be back again! thank you all

one of the most welcoming hotels We have ever stayed in so many nice little touches to make you feel unique, and the team were so attentive and helpful, bed was soooo comfy, We dined and the meal was amazing so much effort went into the food and wine pairings. 100% will be back, thank you Caroline Sean and the team

Spent three days here while hiking in the Highlands and everything was perfect - our cosy loft room, the fabulous dinner we had in Station Road and all the staff we met who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Fort Augustus itself is a charming little town perched on Loch Ness and really well placed for exploring the area. Can’t wait to come back!

The Lovat is superb. The staff were all lovely and so nice to see the owners are truly hands on. We had the privilege to stay in the grand master suite which was spotless and beautifullu presented. However, what stood out was the food it was delightful. The Lovat needs to be on every foodies stop.

Came here with friends walking the great glen way to Inverness. Really helpful staff rooms lovely and comfortable with good beds. We really enjoyed the tasting menu with paired wines would definitely recommend. Food quality was really good plus great selection of whisky. Well located in fort Augustus easy reach of the Loch Ness cruise. Would recommend.

You’ll need your wallet full and ready for action, but seriously, this is a fabulous experience.. the food, despite my reservations about what some of the dishes would be like was incredible and hats off to the chef..a lot of hard work clearly put in.. I never thought I’d ever eat eel! The venue is lovely with great staff.. my only niggle isn’t the lovatt’s fault.. the atmosphere is marred by Scotland’s biggest yet most profitable problem.. loud Americans with no sense of occasion, dress sense or decorum, dietary disorders that the room needs to hear about.. Otherwise I genuinely don’t understand why this isn’t a Michelin star restaurant..

We enjoyed our 2-night stay at The Lovat. Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and accommodating. Special thanks to Kiran (sp?), Tessa and Ashley. Our only disappointment was with the restaurant selections in Fort Augustus, which are very few. Unfortunately, one of the better-ranked places, The Boathouse, was temporarily closed and the local Pizza place was offering takeaway only, making the selection even fewer. And sadly, the dining room at The Lovat does not offer an ala carte menu (only a multi-course fixed price option that didn’t suit our needs). We made do with the few options we had, but this town could certainly use another decent restaurant and The Lovat would do its customers a service by even offering a few sandwich options in the bar.

This is a lovely hotel. The staff were super helpful and friendly. We stayed in the garden rooms. They were roomy with lovely bathrooms. The bed was comfortable. The only thing stopping me from giving it a 5 star review is the restaurant. I'm sure it's fabulous...but not everyone wants a meal the way it's offered at the Lovat. I can enjoy a fancy meal as much as the next person but it's a shame that's all that is offered. We didn't want to go out to eat. We wanted to eat in the hotel but the menu that's on offer just isn't really what most people will want. That's my two cents.

We have loved to stay at the Lovat. We stayed for two nights in Fort Augustus. The room was modern and cosy with a pretty tartan. The personal was very helpful and friendly. The boots in the entrance were a nice and comfortable idea. The hotel was in walking distance to Loch Ness and the center of Fort Augustus

We stayed 2 nights and had a fabulous and comfortable room with a small view of Loch Ness. The room was very quiet and luxurious. The amenities in the room such as the complimentary chocolates, shortbread, tea and coffee made our stay all the more special. This is a top quality hotel.
