Hotel Mesra Haiwan Peliharaan di Fountain Valley

This is a very good hotel and worth your travel-lodging dollars. My wife and I are finishing a five day stay tomorrow and we have been happy with just about everything. This reminds me of the old school Marriott Residence Inns because of the space in the rooms and the overall solid construction and layout. The two bedroom suites are quite literally two separate bedrooms with separate showers/tubs, toilets and face bowls. The beds are King Sized and comfy, and there is ample storage in the form of shelves and two chest of drawers per suite. There are two flat screen TVs and a set of doors that separate each room. The kitchen might be the treat for these rooms as it is full sized and comes with a complete set of pots, pans, and utensils. If you are a person that needs to watch their diet for health reasons this place is perfect as you continue your home meal routine by making a couple trips to a market. The location here which is off the major street named Slater gives you ample access to the “Little Saigon” and all the superb food that is sold there as well as the Huntington Beach culture with authentic “surfer dudes and dudettes”. In-n-Out is 6 minutes away and on the same property as a WalMart. Definitely worth your dollars if you can get the room at the right price. We were able to do that and, as I mentioned, we are pleased. The only downsides are the no frills lobby area w/o coffee and tea service although there are occasional fruits. The rooms could use a sprucing up with drapes badly frayed on the bottom and walls, headboards not thoroughly cleaned. The bedding comforters etc are not new, they are worn and therefore suspect with stains here and there. My wife tells me the breakfast was quite average. Closer attention to some of the niceties and catching up on deferred maintenance will make this a 4/5 place equal to any nice Residence Inn, but we thing this is a solid place!

My daughter and I stayed there two nights for her sports tournament in the area. On the second day, the TV service went down for the entire building. We were so disappointed because we had planned to relax in our room after a tiring day. When we asked the front desk, they said it won't be back up until the next day, and offered no alternatives or compensation. We just couldn't understand why they were not able to get us a working TV--something even the cheapest motels offer--for the entire day. In addition, when we were trying to check in at 3pm after a long drive, they didn't have any room ready for us. I understand that check-in starts at 4, but we were quite disappointed that they were not able to accommodate us and not a single room was ready at that time.
