Bella Vista Spa & Marina Onomichi is a small luxury resort hotel with just 44 total rooms. This area is known for ship building; the original property served as a serviced guest house for people involved in the industry beginning in 1973. The present property was established in 2007, offering rooms with ocean views and a spa. The property grounds is quite vast - it's perched on a hill overlooking the stunning Seto Inland Sea and the Bella Vista Marina at the water's edge. There are walkways throughout that offer nice vantage points by which to appreciate the scenic beauty of this area of Japan. The outdoor terrace stretches directly from the main indoor common area and has uninhibited views of the Seto Inland Sea. In the middle of the terrace is a stretch of water that appears to flow directly into the ocean (even though the Ocean is quite a ways away) - the water is less than 10cm deep and isn't meant for swimming; it's strictly for show, and it's probably the most Instragrammable aspect of the resort. And, especially in the Summer time, you'll have the ability to enjoy the infinity pool as well as partake in numerous activities (both onsite and outside the property), such as a beach BBQ and island hopping. There's also a ribbon chapel on the property grounds that has won numerous design awards, and I'd imagine that it would serve as a wonderful venue for weddings. In the resort itself, there's a nice spa facility as well as three different restaurants serving Sushi, Kaiseki and Basque-inspired cuisine (using local ingredients and recipes.) We stayed in the Panorama Terrace Suite, which was quite large 100m² and the third from the top category room at Bella Vista. The best room is the Bella Vista Maisonette Spa Suite, but we passed on it because we generally avoid Maisonette-style layouts, while The Bella Vista is similar to the Panorama Terrace Suite, except that it has it has an open air bath with a view of the Ocean; The Bella Vista was already booked when we tried to reserve it. While our room was spacious, nicely appointed and clean, it was showing its age somewhat. It could probably benefit from a refurbishment within the next few years, especially given the room rates that they charge here. There is a dearth of power outlets as well, which is further evidence that it was built more than a decade ago. The room has a stand-alone bath tub, but it's not Onsen (natural hot springs.) In fact, there's no longer Onsen anywhere on site - supposedly, Onsen stopped flowing about 7 years ago, and that was that. It's a shame, given that there is ”Spa” in the property's name, but a Japanese Spa resort without Onsen is a bit of a misnomer if you ask me. Not their fault, but them's the facts. Dining wise, Bella Vista offers 3 options - Sushi, Kaiseki and Basque-inspired cuisine. All three of the restaurants serve dishes using the very best of local ingredients from both land and sea. 部屋は狭くてオートロックではなく、 よさは駅近、安くて朝食付きというくらいですかね。 駅からホテルまでの道中にはコンビニは駅高架下のセブンイレブン一軒だったかと。 簡単なブッフェ形式の朝食付きですが、 スタッフが時々覗くくらいの管理でとりあえず用意してますというレベルでした。

酒店就在車站出口附近，走路五分鐘左右的距離也有商店街和賣場，用餐選擇多且方便。 另外，最特別的一點是，旅館大約5樓以上能直接看到城堡，房間有兩側，其中一側打開窗簾就能直接欣賞城堡，另外一側則是普通的城景房而已，如果有機會選擇，務必請酒店安排城堡一側的房間！ 酒店的早餐價格稍微偏高，但有兩種選擇，可以到地下一樓選擇套餐型日式早餐，或是在一樓享用西式自助餐。 特別推薦一樓的自助餐，非常美味！

I primarily booked the room based on its location along my planned route but it ended up being one of my favorite hotels on my recent trip to Japan. The hotel is quite new and the rooms larger than a standard Japanese hotel typically offers. The bathroom was great but the best was when I looked out the window to a GREAT view of Fukuyama Castle. The onsen/spa was beautiful and really was beyond what I expected all around. Check-out was completed easily with the digital kiosk and many language options were available. Highly recommend!

Wifi not good in the room. Wifi keep cut off. No hot drinking water provided. No microwave etc. Shower good strong Room clean Stair case climb up to 3rd floor is a hassle. Lounge area is clean and big and get wifi. Very near station so very good Many shops nearby Food easy to find.

ベッセルイン福山駅北口 快適に休むことができました。 スタッフのみな様、ありがとうございました。 部屋の窓が額縁にように映るライトアップされて天守閣は 素晴らしい体験でした。 ベットとピロー（枕）がベスト！朝までぐっすり 朝6時からのホテルモーニングを美味しく十分にいただきました。 一品々丁寧な調理に満足の朝食でした。 ホテルチェックインが終わって、福山駅 新幹線ホームまでゆっくり歩いて2分 予定通り朝7時台の新幹線に乗ることが出来ました。 おかげで、エネルギッシュな一日をすごすことが出来ました。

Stayed at the Anchor Hotel for 1 night and was very happy with the stay! The staff were very welcoming and the signage was clear in relation to checking in at the Oriental Hotel next door. Staff were very helpful and made check in easy. The room itself was stylish and very spacious compared to other Japanese hotels. The bathroom was modern and very clean. Nice touches like light switches, plugs and USB ports by the bed and dimmable lights throughout. You can also use the onsen in the Oriental Hotel which was great. The onsen is small but provides towels in the reception and toiletries in the shower area. We stayed for the free breakfast on the first floor of the Anchor Hotel and it was simple but delicious. The location is amazing! Right next to the castle and opposite the mall and train station. A convenience store is 30 seconds down the road. Parking is available directly next to the hotel for 1500 yen for 24 hours, so very convenient. Will definitely return on future visits!

Stayed 1N. This is a very small hotel. It is located facing the water and beautiful sakura trees. The lobby is located at the back street and the restaurant is at the front of the building. Check-in was quick and the front desk personnel were hospitable. I was assigned a room facing the water and the sakura trees which were in full bloom. The room is typically small by Japanese standards. Only 1 small hard pillow, firm bed. Strong Wifi signal. Breakfast was a semi-buffet - the mains came in a tray and the breads, cereal and juices were self-service. The owner is an elderly gentleman who took the trouble to meet and greet guests at breakfast. No on-site onsen. You'll need to take a taxi to the nearest bathhouse.

This is a wonderful hotel, unfortunately we were put into the smallest room, one that was so small and filled with unusable furniture that there was no space for one guest let alone two. Getting around meant one person had to stay on the bed while the other crawled to the sink or shower room. The room was so tiny that staying in it was a constant source of tension, the kind of tension that can ruin a vacation. It was so small, it was almost impossible to step into the room and move aside so you could close the door behind you. There is a similar problem maneuvering into the shower. So if you want to stay in this hotel definitely ask not to be put in room 214. It's torture. Management would do well to remove the bed, the nightstand, the chair (which cannot be used because it has to be crammed so close to the small bed), and the small table next to the chair that also cannot be used. Replace the furniture with tatami, futons and a couple of pads to sit on. Now, moving on from the agitation of being sentenced to Room 214, this hotel has a lot going for it. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The hotel and the Onomichi train station share the same building -- a brand new building -- so as soon as you step off the train, you're at your hotel. Also, the building is completely soundproof. You will not hear or feel trains rumbling by or any noise from the bus and car traffic from in front of the hotel. The rooms have cathedral ceilings, not just high ceilings but vaulted ceilings, which I'm sure would have felt luxurious had we not been stuck in Room 214. The rooms also have high windows that give you a lot of ambient light and, I'm sure, great views from some of the rooms. Before being pointed to your room, you are brought to an amenity counter and allowed to take as many packets of luxury face washes, night creams and other cosmetics as you desire. A N'espresso machine and coffee capsules await you in your room. Once again, this is a wonderfully charming and modern hotel in a wonderfully charming and funky city. We plan to return to Onomichi when it is not so hot -- and stay in this hotel. But we'll ask for a larger room.
