Hotel berhampiran Shizuku, Furano

Stayed 2 nights. Corner room has a weird configurations. Room door opens into a long hallway facing the bathroom with a sink in the hallway and the bedroom off to the side via a door. The hotel is showing age but decently maintained as much as possible. The hardware seemed typical old style Japanese hotel. We had two rooms and somehow one room gets toiletry packs with coffee and another didn’t consistently. Breakfast and dinner buffet had decent spreads but nothing impressionable. No porter service was provided.

We stayed at North Country Inn for two weeks as part of a Whiteroom tour. The rooms were huge by Japanese standard and the futon beds were just as big (super king?). The beds are a little hard by western standards but after a day of skiing I still managed to get good night sleeps. Rooms only have green tea so if you want anything else you’ll have to purchase in Japan or bring your own. There is a tv but it only has Japanese channels. The restaurant serves a fantastic buffet breakfast with muesli, toast, yogurt options as well as salads, curries, bacon, eggs, spaghetti bol, soups, potato wedges and breads etc. The staff that run this place are what make it. Their English is pretty limited but with google translate and hand gestures you can get by. Everyone is so helpful and always has a smile and willing to help where they can. There is a small lounge where you can sit with others but the bar doesn’t open until 6pm when the restaurant opens. There is a vending machine that sells beer and strong zero (alcoholic lemonade?) which you can drink in your room. There is a good drying room too. The location is about a 20minute walk to Furano ski field and there is a snow shuttle. There is a hotel restaurant that serves basic Japanese cuisine and if you want to venture further afield there are more restaurants about 30min walk away. Bear in mind you will be walking in the dark, in snowy conditions along a main road so you might just want to go by taxi. In summary we had a fantastic stay and thoroughly recommend staying with them.

Pros - 1) Convenient location close to many good eateries (Kumagera, Masaya, Sennari etc), a drugmart and a supermarket. 2) Free parking (30 lots). 3) Our room (777 - where they previously filmed a Korean drama) was spacious, clean and had a great view of the surrounding mountains. 4) Service was great even though English is a tad limited. Cons - 1) TV channels are predominantly in Japanese save for BBC and 1 Chinese channel.

Finally got to Furano for the first time after 9 days in Nisko and Rusutsu. Happy to say that the resort, mountain and snow was very good and we will definitely be back. The hotel rooms that we had, double king superior where excellent. Small Japanese bathroom but did the job easily. Very comfortable. breakfast was a 3.5 / 5 but still good and recommended. The Onsen was the highlight. One of the best male and female we have been to. Very chic... Staff were very very good and helpful. Ski rentals in house also. Location from town and to resort was terrific. We used he free hotel shuttle each day but mainly walked down the hill back which was a 10-minute walk. (...you could have skied) A lot of good restaurants in each direction of a ten-minute walk.... I'd stay here again for sure and will when we go back. Good value for money and facilities. Excellent hotel with great onsen and staff service. We got a free upgrade to supreme twin room at Checkin even the hotel was quite full. We were very impressed with the room, the 3 private and public onsens and all the refreshments such as ice cream, popsicles, yakult pre midnight ramen and coffee orange juice and tea provided throughout the day and night during the stay. Front desk staff speak good English and very helpful. The rooms bedding is comfortable except the pillows were a bit hard. Onsen was excellent with both indoor and outdoor and sauna. We are pleased with the hotel parking next to hotel and very pleased with the stay. Greatly recommend!

The room was rather spacious compared to typical Japanese hotels. The size of the toilet was acceptable, typical of Japanese hotels'. Surprisingly, the toilet came with very comprehensive instructions to operate the bidet, which I had not encountered before in my trips to Japan and I greatly appreciated that. The entire place was very clean, and we could take the tote bags in the room home. The room came with humidifier to manage the dry air at Furano; just had to refill the water tank. While the room was situated across residences, we had been advised to pull down the blinds for privacy. There was no phone in room to contact the concierge but not necessary anyway during our stay since the place was relatively small. The lounge was great where guests could make their own complimentary coffee (from beans) and tea (from leaves); we could choose the flavour of the tea based on options of the leaves given (did not try the coffee during my stay). There were no English instructions to operate the separate washing machines and dryers (2 washing machines and 2 dryers available at level 4) but could easily Google translate the Japanese instructions on the devices. Unfortunately the dryer was not strong enough to dry my clothes for 30 min (100 yen) so I had to do an additional round to dry them.

Went for a few days of snowboarding. The room was clean and tidy. I would like to take this chance to thank the manager Amy again for her great hospitality. I lost my car key on the mountain and the car rental company is at Chitose airport, her willingness to help us to pick the spare key up spending hours of her time is impeccable. Our travel plan was uninterrupted in the end. I recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Furano.

We booked this futurwald furano ski hotel for its location. Also as it had hot spring baths for relaxing after skiing. The staff are all very nice, friendly and helpful! The nice lady behind the check in counter even booked my ski pass with discount. The only thing I could say they can improve on is better coffee, and organizing dinner and breakfast better . Maybe don't take as many bookings ? Other than that it's a perfect place to stay as they have warm drying room /ski lockers right out the front of the hotel ( across the road from the ”kitanomine ” F chair lift ) excellent 👌 if you want to access the whole furano ski resort.... Makes it easier to have a break back at hotel and not as busy as main ” shin furano prince hotel side ”. Yes overall good location, good for family or adults. The level 2 of hotel has areas to read or sip on a suntory whiskey after a good day in Furanos powder snow ❄️. I did note that the lifts in hotel get crowded but stairs are a great option if needed in a hurry. Thanks again konnichi wa OHIYO I will stay here again. . Thanks again.

Great service and breakfast. The hotel car park is a distance away. Pretty dark n cold at night. The hotel room is new n spacious. Only concern is after 2 days, the toilet start to smell. If possible, for daily room making , please help clean the toilet.

いつも美味しい野菜で感動させてもらっていますが 今回は前回より更に我々向になってくれてまして もう他の宿は見えなくなっています。 冬の富良野は勿論厳冬ですが 敢えて真冬に来て欲しいと私は思います。 氷点下のピリっとした空気、静けさ… そして美味しい料理と素晴らしい冬景色… やはり富良野ではココが一番だと思います。 本当はあまり他人に教えたくない素晴らしい宿です。 今回もとても素敵な冬休みになりました。 ありがとうございました。
