Sama Retreats

I had the privilege of spending several weeks at Sama, and it’s an experience I’ll cherish forever. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely embraced by the serene atmosphere and the warmth of the team. Every detail, from the stunning Sri Lankan architecture to the amazing people working there, truly made me feel like I was part of something special. The property itself is simply breathtaking. Surrounded by lush nature and located on one of the most peaceful beaches in Sri Lanka, it’s a true hideaway. I loved that the villas are spread out, creating a sense of privacy and tranquility. The beach, which have been quiet and untouched, felt like my own personal paradise. And the pool? Perfect for unwinding after a day of yoga or exploring. Speaking of yoga, the daily sessions were a highlight for me. I took part in the Yoga Teacher Training, and Molly, Pruthvika, Shae and the rest of the team were incredible. Their expertise, care, and passion were truly shone through. I felt supported on my journey, whether I was learning new poses or diving into new knowledge. The food was another standout. Fresh, healthy, and prepared with love every day. I couldn’t get enough of the locally inspired dishes—each meal felt nourishing and delicious. And the service? Unmatched. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel at home! I can’t recommend this retreat enough—if you’re looking for a place to feel home, relax, heal, and reconnect with nature, Sama is the perfect choice.

This is an exceptional hotel! We are a family of 5 and loved every minute of being at the Samara. The rooms were comfortable and the food was delicious, We did the yoga class every morning followed by a delicious leisurely breakfast. The pools are gorgeous and the semi-private beach is absolutely idyllic. We were so well looked after and had great fun with all the wonderful people who work there.

We had such a lovely week in this beautiful, chilled space. The management and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The spa was fantastic with a great selection of treatments and yoga. The food was extraordinary and we enjoyed every superb meal. The accommodation is gorgeous and the whole place is superbly designed to fit in with the surrounding jungle and beach. The gardens were immaculate and the pool space was incredible. Couldn’t recommend more and already looking forward to going back.
