The initial impression of the lodge does not do justice to the accomodation, or the hospitality of hosts Gerlinda & Brendon. Our room was spacious, ultra clean and well appointed with a gorgeous outlook. It was bitterly cold outside but our room was quickly warmed by the heater, & electric blankets were turned on early! The restaurant was opened especially for us as we were the only guests. The beautiful log heater already was lit when we were seated & Gerlinda was our waitress & barmaid. She was also a great source of local knowledge & history. My husband & I both had steaks (cooked by Brendon who is the chef) and they were the best steaks either of us had ever had. Malacoota township is a short drive from Gipsy point & worth a visit. I think Gipsy lodge is a really lovely place to spend a couple or more restful days at.

We stayed in self contained accommodation and I can't recommend it. Gipsy Point is a lovely location for kayaking and birdwatching but the Lodge is overpriced and poorly maintained. The owners have not spent any money to try to make it nice and they are largely running it offsite. We also experienced the power cut and there was no attempt made to contact guests or provide alternative arrangements. The food in the restaurant was good but overpriced. $18 for a piece of cake! We have previously stayed at the lakeside apartments but unfortunately they have not been open. Next time we will stay in Mallacoota.

Lovely, clean and relaxing accommodation. Satellite tv in the room was a nice surprise. The restaurant on the premises is very welcoming and the food and service was excellent. Would recommend to any family coming to or around the area, including Mallacoota.

No staff on site on arrival. Key in lockbox. More like Airbnb. Due to storm we lost internet, then all electricity followed by the water supply shutting down. This was not a treat. Biggest issue is that no staff had shown up by 9:00am when we left the next morning. Would have been ok except for complete loss of facilities but can’t excuse absence of staff throughout the visit. Was glad to drive away.

On our way south we decided to stop in Mallacoota for the evening. Searching the internet for positive reviews we settled on spending the night at the Gypsy Point Lodge which is situated about 15 minutes outside of the town. You pass.it on the way in. At first glance it doesn't look like much but we had a lovely stay. Room was very clean and the restaurant right on the premises was not only convenient but served excellent food. We highly recommend the Gypsy Point Lodge. Thank you for a lovely stay, Joanne and Frank

This was an overnight stay on our way up to the nsw ski resorts. We stayed in a Queen/single garden view room and it was clean and what you would expect from a nice motel. Dinner was at the on-site restaurant. The meals were very expensive, but well cooked and tasty. So many things to do in the area, so much wildlife. We will be returning to spend a week at gipsy point, so very glad we found it.

Nice position but room totally outdated and dingy with a musty smell. The walls are paper thin and not at at all soundproof. We stayed in room no.7 and the door would not close let alone lock. We had to put a suitcase against it….very poor!! The restaurant is very expensive for very ordinary food! We won’t be going back.

We will never ever book a room at this place ever again. The room was very out dated and musky smelling but the biggest shock was the restaurant. We booked a table for two on my wife's birthday. I asked the nice lady working there if they served any non alcoholic beers. She said "no". I asked if I was allowed to bring one in from my room to have with my meal. She said she would have to check. She went out the back to ask. She came back and said "no". We proceeded to sit down when the guy from the back came out who I assume is one of the owners. He was obviously very offended that I had even asked such a thing and proceeded to talk to me as if I was a ***** and making us feel very uncomfortable for being there. He was extremely rude and aggressive. I don't think hospitality is the right industry for this bloke. We decided to leave and we enjoyed a lovely birthday meal at the Mallacoota Hotel instead. I can see why we were the only guests at this place on a public holiday.
