Hotel berhampiran Foot Locker, Gerona

Last minute trip so options were limited when booking but pleased with the choice. Room was comfortable but the air conditioning didn’t seem to work but it was not a big deal as it was cool enough anyway. Bathroom was fine but the shower would leak on to the floor. Breakfast was at a local cafe just a minute walk along the road and was pretty good. The coffee there was very good on both days. You also had a choice of sandwiches or pastries. Overall a good stay and would come back again if I’m Girona.

Muy amables las recepcionistas, todo muy limpio. Muy cerca de todo lo que hay que ver en la ciudad. Aunque la calefacción produce un continuo taqueteo, toda la noche, todo el día... Paramos el minibar porque aún no teniendo nada dentro arrancaba y es muy ruidoso. Y la vecina que hablaba alto por el móvil? La ducha demasiado estrecha, no se cabe. Es un buen hotelito conveniente para pasar un par de días sin gastar demasiado. No es para est**** confortablemente, para eso se coge uno habitación en hoteles de más categoría con sofás y serviciosdemásestrellas, es un lugar de paso, para dormir y aprovechar la estancia en la bonita ciudad de Girona. Por mucho menos € que en el parking del Mercat, tienen plazas en uno privado: de haberlo sabido antes de llegar nos habríamos ahorrado 8€ x3h... Aviso a los turistas: Girona es una ciudad cara !! En definitiva, un hotel razonable para presupuestos ajustados.

Wow, an amazing hotel - perfectly located, whisper quiet and feels brand new. We arrived on a Saturday for 2nights exploring Girona and couldn't have been more delighted. Our room was a suite on level 5 (room 520) and it was sensational. A great lounge room, light and bright with a massive tv (the biggest I've ever seen in a hotel) and comfy couches, tea and coffee making facilities and a sliding door to the massive bedroom (allowing me to go to bed while my husband watched tv till late). The bedroom was great too - large, light and bright (but importantly with block out blinds) and there was also a massive tv in the bedroom (so I did watch some tv before falling asleep). Airconditioning in both rooms on separate units. Also a walk in wardrobe. The sleep quality was excellent as it's whisper quiet despite being located on a major road - the windows are double glazed. The bathroom had a great shower/bath with great water pressure and hot water. Big white fluffy towels. And the bathrooms was big too. Breakfast is served downstairs in a large, light and bright room. It's a buffet and has a great range of fresh meats and cheeses, pastries and hot items. Coffee is either freshly ground or a pod (your choice). There is a hidden rooftop bar and pool (not widely publicized) - on the sixth floor - and a great spot to see Girona and watch the sunset. The location is brilliant. Aldi, Lidl and Mercadona are all literally opposite the hotel (open everyday except Sunday). There is a Carrefour Express a 2minute walk away for Sundays. Great restaurants within walking distance (5-10minutes) - with our favourite La Gioia (a fantastic pizzeria - authentic wood fired pizzas and wonderful service). The old town (no cars) is a 10minute walk away - and I'd recommend walking there via the Parc de la Devesa which is just gorgeous (adjacent to a large tree lined street - perfect and safe to walk along and the park is great for kids, dogs and to just to relax). Parking is so easy. Free parking behind the Aldi and Lidl. Staff were fantastic - warm, friendly, helpful and importantly spoke multiple languages. Special shoutout to Alex, Julia and Roby (and the whole breakfast team). We loved our stay at Doubletree Girona and would definitely stay there again if visiting Girona - which is a great city to explore (and great to cycle in).

We stayed in the IBIS hotel while doing our road trip. It is not that far off the motorway. This was one of few hotels in the city which had actual locked underground parking as our car was fully packed and I wouldn't like to unpack all our possessions to the hotel room. We haven't been able to book the parking but we have been lucky and got the spot for 12 e. The garage is not big so if you need secure parking, I recommend coming not too late as the hotel got busier in later night hours. We have read some reviews that free off-road parking is not secure and that some of the hotel guests experienced window breakage and theft of their possessions. The hotel by itself was average. There is also an IBIS budget hotel in the same areal. It was nice and warm inside. Bed was comfy. They accept dogs. The bathroom doors in the room 124 can't be closed.

The decor of this budget hotel is fairly basic, as you might expect. The bed was, oddly, a double bed with a children's bunk on top of it, reached by a ladder. It was fairly quiet, with some stomping from above before midnight, but then nothing. There was a fairly good window blocking noise from outside (it was a ground floor room). The A/C was also nice and quiet. The bed was comfortable, once you got past the ladder, but it's easy to hit your head on it and it obstructs the view of the (small) TV, which is not pointed properly towards the bed. The shower cubicle is wide, but pointlessly so, because the shower isn't powerful enough to reach very far. You can also easily turn off the water with your bottom, which I hate. There were some spots of mould on the ceiling, and the fan doesn't work - two possibly not unrelated facts. The breakfast was good, with lots of options. Soundproofing: 4/5 Breakfast: 4/5 Bed: 2.5/5 Bath/shower: 2.5/5 Friendliness: 3/5 La decoración de este hotel barato es bastante básica, como cabe esperar. Extrañamente, la cama doble tenía una litera encima para niños, que se alcanza a través de una escalera. La habitación era bastante silenciosa, con algunos pisotones audibles desde arriba antes de medianoche, pero luego nada. Tenía una ventana bastante buena que aislaba del ruido de fuera (estaba en la planta baja). El aire acondicionado también era bastante silencioso. La cama era cómoda, a pesar de la escalera, pero es fácil d**** con la cabeza contra ella, y obstruye la visión de la téle (pequeña), que no está bien orientada hacia la cama. La ducha es amplia, pero inútilmente, porque la baja potencia y ángulo de la ducha te obliga a estar pegado a un lado, donde es fácil apagar el agua con el culo (algo que odio). Hay moho en el techo y el ventilador no funciona, dos hechos que sospecho que están relacionados. El desayuno era bueno, con bastantes opciones. Great hotel, very nice pool, staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner was brilliant and very reasonable, we ate there two out of four nights. Lots on the menu, even whole monkfish tail. Massive steaks too. Breakfast was so-so but standard pricing. The location is great if you’re mobile but the bus stop is just across the road so you can get into town easily either way (about a 20 minute walk, less than ten minutes on the bus). If you’re looking to visit the beaches, be prepared for a journey as they are very far away and hard to navigate via public transport. Taxis are expensive. The hotel staff printed the timetables off for us because they wouldn’t show on Google Map. Highly recommended though. We went snorkelling and sea kayaking and saw octopus and explored caves. Only negative to say about the hotel is that they charge for the hot tub and it’s €7 per person. Felt like it should be included but maybe you get a specific amount of slots based on your length of stay? Didn’t seem like anyone was booking it and I imagine it’s because most people feel it should be included.

Je suis très satisfaite de mon séjour dans cet hôtel : Très bien situé et facile d’accès, ils dispose également d’un parking surveillé +++ De plus , les chambres sont agréables et non bruyantes. Le personnel a été aux petits soins avec nous , et nous a guidé afin de faire notre programme de visites dans la ville de Gérone (qui, au passage est une ville Magnifique avec beaucoup de choses à faire et à visiter , tant pour les jeunes que pour les familles). De plus, il est très bien situé (à proximité du grand centre commercial Espai Girones) et facile d’accès. Le petit déjeuner est très satisfaisant et complet ! De plus le rapport qualité / prix est top 👍🏼 Je recommande sans hésiter !

My husband and I came as day guests because we wanted the use of a swimming pool. You pay €30 and get a towel and 1 drink (beer or soft drink). When we arrived the outdoor pool was like ice, we're hardy swimmers but this was ice ice and so we asked if we could swim in the indoor pool. No, you pay €30 to use the spa, we asked if we could pay for the spa instead of the outdoor pass and they said yes, but you cannot then sit outside???!! We said we didn't want to be sat indoors all day so got the outdoor pass. After an hour, noticing there was not one single other person at the indoor or outdoor pool, we explained again that the outdoor pool was unusable so could we just have one swim in the indoor pool otherwise we have paid €30 for a towel and a chair (which we have on our large terrace at our accommodation for free!). We even offered to forego the free drinks to do so. We werent trying to get freebies, just asking for the ability to go for a swim like we'd paid for, making it clear we would not use the jacuzzi or anything else in the spa. Receptionist said she would get back to us in half an hour. 2 hours later....Nothing. Went back in and had to explain it all to 2 new ladies. Come back in 20 minutes. Went back and they said if you want to use the indoor pool you have to pay another €30. It was absolutely baffling that with zero other guests using the facilities and knowing we had paid for a pass to have use of a pool, they would not let us have 1 swim in an empty indoor pool. What difference does it make to them if we swim indoor or outdoor, zero. What difference would it have made to us, total. The actual advert for the pass doesnt even specify that the pool is outdoor only and when we emailed them in advance was also not advised this, nor that we had to have passports to enter (fortunately i had a photo of them on my phone, otherwise we would have had a wasted 30minute journey) because we were told we could not enter using our drivers license. Our sole purpose for coming was to swim, I'd had a bad fall and injured my leg and back quite severely and was coming to try and relieve it by swimming, instead I went back €30 worse off, irritated and still in pain. Their customer service skills and logic were appalling. What could have been a lovely, relaxing day out was totally overshadowed by their lack of hospitality.

One of the best mountain getaways! The Castle is very well maintained keeping its authenticity with a modern touch. We booked the Pere Margarit suite and our stay couldn’t be comfier or more relaxing. The buffet breakfast is amazing with lots of options of high quality ingredients. Dinner in Drac Restaurant is also great. The staff is incredibly helpful and attentive. Special thanks to Lika from the reception and Arnau in F&B. We will definitely come back soon!
