Hotel berhampiran Hammam Banos Arabes di Granada Province

Things didn’t get off to a good start when our taxi driver drove us to the wrong Macia Hotel in Grenada. There are a few of them, so double check that your taxi driver verifies the address (and not just the hotel name). Being dropped off at the wrong hotel left us with story to tell and a couple fewer Euros for the second cab ride. Not the end of the world, though. And heck, we’re on vacation! The Hotel Macia Plaza is in the historic section of Grenada, facing a large plaza. The plaza features al fresco restaurants, and during our two say stay, impromptu parades and three different pairs of flamenco dancers! The area was wonderful for walking in all directions. We older folk took a five-minute, inexpensive taxi up to the Alhambra. After our Alhambra tour, we walked back to the hotel along a beautiful pedestrian walkway surrounded by a green forest and beautiful spring flowers. Our rooms (we had two) were disappointing. While clean, the rooms were very plain and tired. They lacked sufficient electrical outlets to plug in the tea kettle without unplugging the television. The front desk staff, however, was consistently helpful. Perhaps a reason the stay here is all the fun activity in the plaza. Certainly the price point was reasonable. Just don’t expect the Four Seasons.

Perfectly located in the middle of the old town. Close to everything you want to see or eat in Granada. We felt living in the history for 2 days. The family room is great for a family of 4. Book early, as it could be very popular and booked out in peak season. The staff is super friendly

Hemos estado unos días en Granada y no ha podido ser mejor la experiencia. El hotel cuenta con unas vistas a la Alhambra increíbles y la ubicación en pleno paseo de los tristes lo hace inmejorable. La atención de los empleados ha sido buenísima y son súper amables. Las habitaciones son amplias y las camas cómodas. Algo que creo que se podría mejorar es que no tiene nevera en las habitaciones ni tampoco televisión con internet. El baño tiene cierto olor como a agua estancada, pero imagino que será por el tipo de construcción antigua del edificio. Cuando vuelva a Granada repetiré seguro!!

Excelente ubicación para recorrer Granada, a 5 minutos de la Catedral. Hotel limpio y cómodo y atención de primera de su personal, especialmente Alberto fue muy amable y nos dio recomendaciones de donde ir y comer. Si vuelvo a Granada vuelvo al Sacromonte.

Highly recommended. Very central. Close to all the attractions. Can walk to alhambra if you fit enough. Otherwise can take bis 30 to alhambra, bus station just a minute away.

Stayed for 2 nights on a room only basis. Spotlessly clean and very friendly staff. Rooms have a good mini fridge, and there is a kitchen next to Reception with a kettle, microwave, cutlery and crockery. Bus stop outside goes to the Alhambra for €1.40. Good selection of bars outside the hotel, and about a 10 minute stroll to the Cathedral, or Bib Rambla all on the flat. At the start of the narrow road to the hotel is a roundabout. Here is the Marquis’s sister hotel - great for breakfast. Scrambled eggs, bread, coffee and a large bowl of fruit & yogurt will set you up for the day for under €10. Just around the corner you can catch the C32 bus to Albaicin for €1.40. Lovely views going up a very steep climb. Get out at St Nicolas Square at the top. There are a couple of cafés next to the square where you can enjoy a coffee or beer, with the most amazing views of the Alhambra, then catch the bus or walk downhill (about 20 mins) back into the centre. We were worried about driving and parking in Granada, so we parked up in a little town outside of Granada, called El Fargue (coming in from Murcia), and caught the N8 bus in. Cost €1.40, and travels down the only main road through every hour, just after the hour, to Jardines del Triunfo, which is the other end of the main Gran Via de Colon - a 15 min flat stroll from the hotel, or a 5 min taxi ride. N8 bus returns to El Fargue from the same place at half past the hour. Saved the stress and expense of driving and parking in the City. Very successful. We will certainly do it again, and we will also stay at the Marquis Urban again.

El hostal esta bien, aunque las paredes de las habitaciones son casi de papel y escuchas a los demás, el baño es muy pequeño y compartido.

We loved staying here. So much character in the rooms and the atriums and reception area- an excellent conversion of a historic building to a hotel. We took a walking tapas tour and it was one of the stops! Our room and bathroom both very nice. A frig minibar in our room we used for our water bottles. Our room was not served by the elevator - but this was not a problem for us. The Wi-Fi was spotty but staff helpful in getting connected. Breakfast was good and coffee was via a coffee pod machine. The breakfast room was crowded at times, but able to wait in the pleasant atrium. We loved traversing the alleyways, just a few steps for views of the Alhambra - and a maybe 20 minute uphill walk to visit. (Taxis inexpensive and this is an option to get to the Alhambra also). Staff pleasant and helpful with recommendations and directions. The Plaza Nueva very close and easy to catch a taxi here.

Un hotel muy céntrico y en el que valoramos positivamente la atención recibida, el servicio y la limpieza en general. Además, tiene una ubicación ideal en pleno centro de Granada a solo 5 minutos de la catedral. Nos hemos sentido muy a gusto durante nuestra estancia y sin duda volveríamos.

I value central location and this was a good choice: The hotel is situated on the very central Plaza Nueva, although entrance is in a side street. When you check in you get a door code instead of a key, that was a first time for me, but it worked fine. I didn't have breakfast, but the square has several outside cafes serving coffee, juice and tostadas when you need that. Also a few illegal immigrants who sell Gucci handbags off the pavement and there is quite a bit of noise from traffic and various other people around, but all in all that didn't disturb me too much. I woke up early to climb up to Alhambra and the location is excellent for that. I give a plus for the room having a water boiler, so I could have a wake-up cup of coffee in bed, which I love. Will stay there again.
