Valutata la descrizione del sito decidiamo di prenotare questo hotel 5*. Struttura molto particolare, pulita e bella, ma il servizio da 5* non esiste: -Abbiamo dovuto chiamare per organizzare il parcheggio dell’auto e nessuno rispondeva, siamo stati richiamati. -arrivati all’hotel abbiamo richiesto la possibilità di fare un massaggio di coppia nella spa ( dal sito si percepiva fosse all’interno dell’hotel invece è convenzionata presso altro hotel) siamo riusciti a prenotare solamente alla sera per il giorno successivo nonostante la nostra pressione. -alle ore 19 si chiede la possibilità per bere un drink presso l’hotel e la risposta è negativa giustificata dall’inizio orario cena - colazione non da hotel a 5*, poco personale per richieste bevande calde

Lovely hotel, wonderful room (Junior Suite in the Palazietta section). The location is great, but of course requires quite a few stairs even to get to breakfast, and it is a very nice breakfast buffet. But the stairs are worth it for the breathtaking view. Comfortable bed, ample-sized bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy walk (relatively easy) to the main sights of Matera. Parking is expensive (and was a bit hard to locate) but worthwhile, and the shuttle service brings you right to the hotel. Over all a wonderful experience. We would certainly stay here again if we return to Matera.

Absolute nightmare. Room was at the top of about 100 stairs. In addition to the climb, the stairs were slippery and dangerous. Air conditioning not working and do hit I cd barely breathe. You had to book at time slot for breakfast and stick to it

What a special place, in the traditional caves obviously brought up to date sympathetically and well presented. Furnishings are well chosen. Many bedrooms outside the main area and the restaurant commands a lovely view of the Piazza and canyon/ravine. Check in was swift and welcoming. Staff are very friendly and courteous. Large room, minimal furnishings. Huge bed and so comfortable. Big bathroom, excellent shower with good water pressure. Large soft white towels, a must for me and always appreciated. Ortigia products. Extra hooks for the robes would be useful. Complimentary Water plus a small coffee machine with 4 espresso coffee pods . Alas only on the first day. Given the rating and price per night I would expect this to be repeated daily. It usually is for 4/5 star hotels in my experience. Everywhere spotless. Breakfast was good, the fresh fruit and nuts especially. Service isn't as polished as it should be for a venue of this rating although everyone is polite and friendly. Coffee sadly was not the best (always surprised to receive mediocre coffee in Italy) but espresso good. The juices were not freshly pressed rather from concentrated or so they tasted. Great selection of cheese. We certainly enjoyed our stay but a few (admittedly minor yet expected) things stopped it receiving an excellent rating mainly due to house keeping issues and their standard protocols notably: water/ coffee not being replaced daily just on the day of arrival , toiletries not being replaced automatically, broken hanger, belt missing from the robe which went uncorrected despite being notified. These represent a small cost overall given what one pays and the fact it is supposed to be "luxury". I have come to expect this from hotels of the same and indeed lesser rating. Recommended and I would return despite the few issues mentioned above.

An excellent few days stay. The hotel is in the perfect location, and the staff are so friendly and knowledgable. The hotel itself is simply gorgeous. Parking in the suggested hotel was easy and hassle free. We did the Vespa tour with Alessandro at the hotels recommendation and it was an excellent way to see the city.

Liked · Excellent communication from staff in advance of visit on parking and after hours access. Terrific help in getting bags up the MANY stairs to our room. Room next to restaurant and bar was very convenient. Staff assistance in getting car to central parking, breakfast, checking out and shuttle to parking was great. Provided breakfast was sumptious. Room and lighting was gorgeous. Location in central plaza with access to tours and great restaurants was perfect Disliked · Did not like the tub only - with little accommodation for shower standing up, it was uncomfortable. The few starters on coffee and water in the room was very nice, but was not replenished for the second night.

Extraordinary lodging and experience. From the excellence in customer service (especially of note is the manager, Antonio, the breakfast manager Maristella and server Martina), to the helpful communications, to the restaurant offerings, our stay was nothing short of magical.

this is a very exclusive hotel, at a very quiet and important point of Matera. out of that tourist mass, less crowded, with an amazing view from most of the rooms, and teracces.The decoration is spectacular, a detailed combination of the local architecture with modern comfortable hotel neccessities. breakfast room is a surprise in a Cave, also with a sunny terrace. The foof is excellent. the most important thing is : eventhough architecturally it is situated in a mixed geography of many small buildings, rooms, they manage the hotel ultra-proffesional, they make no excuses due to their very difficult setting, and serve like a 5*L hotels in a big city. EXCELLENT

One need to be in a reasonable condition to conquer all the hundred steps in Matera, if customer have problems with legs, it's a difficult location 😕. Hotel was clean, service ok. The patio was common with the neighbour room, thus when the neighbour couple started a card game, the table setting became occupied for the rest of the day. A solution could be to have 2 table settings on the patio, it's big enough.
