Hotel Annapurna

Hotel Annapurna. Located between two orchards/farms with lots and lots of fruit, areca, and other spice trees. We had some of the right outside our room window. A three storied building. The first floor is a Restaurant cum dining for living-in guests and a kitchen etc. On the second story are ac and non-ac rooms of the hotel. The third floor is the residence of the owner. In case you expect complimentary tea/Coffee, an electric kettle in the room, or expect complimentary shampoo, body lotion, conditioner, soap, shaving kit, toothbrush, and toothpaste, you will be disappointed. The rooms are nice and the linen on the bed is clean. The towel in the bathroom is ok. And so is the toilet. It is a “budget” accommodation. It needs the basic necessity of boarding adequately. For breakfast, lunch and dinner one has to go to the ground floor as there is not much of room service. Even the morning tea is served only after 7:30 AM or so, only after the staff has arrived/ start their work shift. Food is typically Konkani cuisine with Konkani spices. I feel, as the cooks (Chefs) have not been exposed to exotic foreign dishes, the Konkani food served by them is authentic “Kokani”. It was quite tasty. We had also ordered “ukadi che modak” as an extra. Quite good. For average accommodation, the food was a high point.
