Hotel berhampiran Kusadasi Castle, Hacifeyzullah Mahallesi

I found Akanthus Hotel the day before we arrived in Ephesus, and was nervous because it only had 5-star reviews, which seemed unlikely. I am a human. not a bot, writing this review and it is definitely a very solid 5-star hotel run by amazingly thoughtful people. The attention to detail is spellbinding. A fellow guest told us she was extending her stay because the hotel was so great. We swam in the beautiful pool. Our room had a view of the solo pillar remaining at Artemis' temple. This is also a great place to have laundry done if you are on an extended trip. The prices are very reasonable and the money goes right to the local women who do the laundry.

The room and bed were clean and spacious. All of the staff were kind and helpful, whenever we had any queries they wouldn't hesitate to lend their hands to us. They helped us book a tour to see the main attractions there and we definitely enjoyed the experience. Location was perfect, near the train station, wakable to many restaurants. There was Saturday market in front of the hotel and in the surrounding area. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to visit Selcuk.

İşimden dolayi gitmistim burdaki otele. Ilk defa gitmeme ragmen çok memnun kaldim. Personel de her konuda yardimci oldu. Otelin konumu marina mevkiinde ve çok güzel bir marina manzarasi var. Merkeze 2 dakika mesafede. Ozellikle akşam yemegi icin gittigim otelin icindeki Çapa Balik restorantini kesinlikle tavsiye ederim. Baliklari ve mezeleri taze ve çok lezzetli. We stayed in the Deluxe Sea View room which was a lovely modern room, well furnished and with a stunning view of the sea. The bathroom, although small, was modern and well-fitted. Beds were super comfy. I think it's a Turkish summer thing, but in the summer time, there are no duvets provided in the rooms - Only a bedspread type of thing, which felt strange, but we experienced this in several hotels during our stay. The location was excellent - Right across the road from the promenade and the sea. We could people-watch right from the comfort of our room. We were opposite the famous Kusadasi sign, could see the majestic cruise ships come in each morning, and also saw a couple of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. Restaurants, bars, shops and the Marina mall were all just a few steps away from the hotel. Ali at the reception, was extremely helpful before and after we checked in. Even despite a very last-minute request, he organized a guide for us to take us to Ephesus, who turned out to be brilliant. He also promptly organized Adaland tickets for us so we could skip the ticket queue. We had an issue with our A/C, which wasn't cooling, and the housekeeping staff promptly fixed it, after which it worked very well. Cleanliness & house-keeping was on point! I was so happy to have a full length mirror in the room! (a bit of a rarity in many mid range hotels in Turkey) The breakfast spread was my favourite part - such a huge spread, delicious coffee, and they were the first hotel during our trip in Turkey that served my now favourite Kaymak (Turkish clotted cream in honey) Breakfast was served on the rooftop which again had lovely views of the sea. We had a wonderful stay, and wished we could have stayed longer. We can't wait to go back and stay at Ilayda once again.

We stayed for a couple of nights, the location is perfect, close to the seaside and there are a lot of restaurants and bars around. The room was spacious and rather clean, the bed was just amazing, real soft and felt like you’re sleeping in a cloud. We really liked the breakfast too, it had everything you could wish for and they also had fresh orange juice, my absolute favourite! The indoor swimming pool turned out to be smaller than in the pictures, but I mean it was still nice to be able to swim.

There are a lot of hotels in Selcuk, gateway to Ephesus, and we lucked out finding this one; on a quiet street just off the main road, easy way to museum & other interesting parts of town; very clean, large beautiful 3rd floor room with terrace overlooking old wall; large bathroon, good wifi; nice, clean pool & courtyard area; breakfast was wonderful with fresh baked breads, some still warm from oven; staff was just great.

Once again I ha e come back to the Boomerang. Now run by the lovely Gamze and Hamdullah, brother of Huseyin and Abdullah, who have run the place in previous years. Affordable, friendly, good food, clean beds and facilities I am in the dorm, with a few friendly strangers. In the past, with my wife, we stayed in their double rooms. I recommend both. An added bonus is the Garden Restaurant where I enjoyed lovely breakfast and evening meals. Close to the bus station, museum and railway to Izmir Airport. I travelled by train from their to Selcuk for 25 tl, £1.20..
