This was our second time booking with this hotel. It is one of the most luxurious places we've stayed. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, the toiletries available in the room are great quality, the buffet breakfast is tasty and varied. The private bath on the balcony was really nice after a long, cold day (although it was a little too hot for me to stay in as long as I wanted, wish we could adjust adding in a bit of cold water). If we're ever in the mood to relax again in Hakone, we'll look at booking here first!

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The rooms were very comfortable and large. Overall this place is simply comfortable.

Location is not too near to train station while you can reserve hotel shuttle to pick up

Location was super hard to get to. Communication was tough with tough. Room was also poorly maintained. Overlooked my booking and got charged 50% of the room fee when i checked out at 1.30 pm and was hurried out at 2pm. Also got charged a bath tax from the previous night onsen. Will not recommend.

We stayed at the new wing, there has few step of stairs and I had to carry all my heavy suitcase up. Restaurants are at the main building. There has no restaurant at the new wing.

Love our families experience there. We booked an open air private bath western room. We got some real good rest and hot spring water. Recommended

Homely, Comfortable and clean environment as all guests are required to take off their shoes at the entrance. Room is spacious and child friendly, my 1.5 year old can roam around without us worrying of hazard. Nice breakfast too. More convenient if you are self driving

Well i have stayed in a few ryokans before, this is the only ryokan that its totally not worth the money. Ryokans usually charge a higher rate, I'm fine but this is not worth it. They charged for all our toothbrushes (4pax as a family with young kids), to use the safe in the room is chargeable, they need to charge us for 2 extra breakfast since we have 2 kids with us (7 and 10 yrs old). Guess what, they charged for 2 kids breakfast at about 22 000 yen per day! The kind of food is just western buffet with bread, croissants, cornflakes and the other section is just very basic jap style!! Wow and this is really exorbitant and totally not worth the price!! We can't even choose to omit breakfast for the kids! If you are going to stay here, please don't include their dinner because thestandard is just subpar......... Cleanliness wise, the rooms are not really well maintained. For my girls they slept on tatami on the floor but the floor around the bed is just so dusty! Bathroom foor and ryokan doors are all stained.... This water stains have been left there long time without proper cleaning. So i would say i will avoid this hotel at all cost!! I dont really like to review but I think I have to just give you this information to whoever who wants to consider staying in laforet.
