Hotel berhampiran Gartenpark Vogt-Kölln-Straße e.V. Nr.349, Hamburg

The concept of an airport hotel is basically its full connectivity, which means most guests there are actually passengers and choose a hotel based exclusively on how it gets integrated with the airport. I had stayed before in this Ibis and the experience was great; this time, however, it was simply awful. First of all, they no longer offer an airport shuttle. How can an airport hotel be called an airport hotel with no direct connectivity with the airport itself??? It is also not possible to use public transportation, for no bus/tube line connects both. Walking is possible, though, it takes a quarter of an hour, but make sure not to have suitcases to drag. A taxi costs 10 euros for a 4min ride. The hotel is not in an easy area, there's not much around it in terms of facilities, the unconnected airport itself being the only one, and still the restaurant won't open for lunch or dinner on weekends - what managerial choice is that?? Guests walking along the corridor in underwear, families in more than a room slamming doors, loud children playing in the corridor, noisy snoring neighbours - how can one have a pleasant sleep or rest there?? One of the lifts is out of order and the only one in functioning gets constantly blocked by housekeeping or guests. Receptionists have no autonomy and there's never management in the house. And the overnight for over 100 euros isn't exactly a bargain. This time, my feeling is that time and money were completely wasted by staying there; maybe Motel One next door could be a better and cheaper option next time. All in all, to be honest with everyone and since the connectivity doesn't exist at all, the hotel should change its name to Ibis Gross Borstel instead and nobody would feel deceived in the end.

A good and clean hotel in a good location and access to the city center, metro and... Everything was fine except my room didn't have a good view, my key card didn't work with the elevator when I got back to the hotel the receptionist wasn't there and I had to use the stairs to get to my room on the 4th floor. The pool and sauna were disabled and I didn't see anything about it on the booking website (Of course I didn't look hard because it's a normal feature for a five-star hotel and I expected it to be clearly stated).

Ich hatte ein Zimmer im Dachstock mit massiver Dachschräge und einem eher kleinen Dachfenster. Ich weiss gar nicht, ob das als EZ oder DZ läuft. Zu zweit wärs kaum gegangen. Alleine alles okay. Auch wenn man natürlich keinen Ausblick hat... Die Einrichtung war jedoch modern und recht geschmackvoll. Das Bad war im Verhältnis zum Zimmer recht gross und absolut okay. Überhaupt, unter dem Titel Preis-Leistung war das Angebot sehr gut. Klar, ein paar Abstriche muss man machen: Nur ein langsamer Lift. Kein Kühlschrank, keine Gläser, Kissen waren qualitativ schlecht. Viele TV-Sender - wie z.B. RTL - können komischerweise nicht empfangen werden. Anscheinend wegen fehlender Satellitenschüssel... Für heutige Verhältnisse eher erstaunlich. Im Zimmer gabs in der offenen Garderobe einen einzigen Kleiderbügel. Auf Rückfrage wurden dann weitere versprochen. Aber eben nur versprochen;-) Wohl ein internes Kommunikationsproblem. Ansonsten war das junge Team an der Reception sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Gepäcklagerung war auch problemlos in einem gesicherten Räumchen möglich. Lage war sehr gut, gleich beim Bahnhof und somit unmittelbare ÖV-Anbindung. Rund ums Hotel gibt es viele Restaurants. Das Frühstück habe ich nicht ausprobiert. Somit war mein dreitägiger Aufenthalt ziemlich nyce;-)

Great location. Easy to get around and get back to the place at night. If you're a light sleeper I wouldn't recommend the shared rooms, people coming back late at night, the doors close quite loudly. My only complaint is that I received a keycard to the wrong room and walked right into a private suite.. Nobody was there thankfully and I just walked right out, but if I were staying in a private room I would hate to think that strangers could just walk into my room where all my belongings are lying around. Otherwise clean and quite a cool environment.

This is an absolutely stunning hostel. The single cabins and double cabins are small, but very comfortable. There is more than enough toileting and showering facilities for everyone, and you always have plenty of privacy. The staff are super helpful and welcoming. The menu and drinks are great. The cabins come with plenty of built-in wireless charging, usb ports, built-in Bluetooth speakers and electricity points. Large and smaller towel per person, along with a bathrobe. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, and clubs all within a few minutes walk. 5 minute walk to central Hamburg train station for the airport and all other locations. I am very impressed with this hostel and would recommend it highly.

So ganz fertig ist das Hotel noch nicht, aber ich habe mich trotzdem rundum wohl gefühlt. Die Lage ist super, man ist schnell zu Fuß an der Alster oder per U-Bahn im Stadtzentrum. Im Hotel gibt es viele praktische Details (Küche im Zimmer, Wasserspender im Frühstücksraum). Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Gerade für nur 3 Übernachtungen fand ich es toll, dass kein Zimmerservice inkl war - den braucht man in so kurzer Zeit wirklich nicht. Das Frühstück enthielt alles, was man für einen Start in den Tag braucht. Vermisst habe ich eigentlich nur eine Art Nachttisch neben dem Bett und beim Frühstück Salz-/Pfefferstreuer auf den Tischen - gab es nur auf dem Bufett, was etwas unpraktisch ist. Insgesamt danke für ein tolle Wochenende und bis bald!

Es ist alles schön und gut bis auf das im Zimmer die Luftfeuchtigkeit fehlt und die Klimaanlage/Lüftung irgendwie nicht funktioniert. Konnte durch die trockene Luft leider nicht richtig einschlafen und dazu führte es zur Erkältung. Ansonsten sauberes Zimmer, die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Hotel is close to the airport and city centre. You can easily access all attractions from there. The breakfast’s variety and taste was surprisingly good. I fully recommend you to stay there. The only thing is hotel does not provide any toothbrush and paste etc. don’t think you will have when you arrive

OK - es sind immer noch die Möbel, die ich noch aus der Zeit kannte, als es das Forum Hotel war. Und das ist schon sehr lange her. Aber im Herbst soll die Renovierung losgehen. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich. Es hat richtig Spaß gemacht. Ich habe ein schönes Zimmer bekommen mit schönem Ausblick zur Stadt. Leider wird sehr viel gebaut, so dass man beim nächsten Mal vielleicht gar nicht mehr bis zur Elbe gucken kann. Schade. Dieses Mal gab es sogar einen Vorgang, der dicht war. Bis auf den Wasserdruck (15. Stock) der Dusche war alles in Ordnung. Aber das ist naturgegeben und damals kein Standard. Überrascht war ich beim Frühstück. Neben dem freundlichen Personal, das schnell abräumte, war das Angebot sehr vielseitig. Ich hatte nachgefragt: die Frikadellen schmeckten wie selbst gemacht (verbrannte Zwiebelstücke) und nicht nach Convenience. Aber man wollte sich nicht mit fremden Federn schmücken und meinten, dass es doch Convenience sei. Aber es war alles sehr gut. Ich werde wieder das Hotel mehr in meinen Fokus setzen, wenn ich wieder in Hamburg bin.
