Hotel di Confucius Temple/Qinhuai River Scenic Area, Nanjing

The hotel service was really good; they brought us fruit and snacks every day, and breakfast was plentiful. However, the premium suite rooms are right next to the road, especially the second bedroom. The noise from cars and horns in the middle of the night made it impossible to sleep. We're not even particularly light sleepers. The master bedroom also faces the road, but it's a smaller street. We ended up having to put an extra bed in the master bedroom so all four of us could squeeze in there to sleep. The front desk said there are only two premium suites, and both are road-facing. Ironically, the standard suites have rooms that aren't by the road. This design is truly counterintuitive; the best rooms are in the noisiest location. Ctrip's customer service, though, was excellent and actively negotiated with the hotel.

Perfect location, taxi can be dropped off right in front of the hotel, and across the street from the hotel is the famous laomendong area, where you can find the amazing nanjing impression restaurant, this one is the more impressive looking space than other branches. Professional, well organised, rooms are cleaned and tidied, water, tea, and toiletries replenished every day. Plenty common areas to use, convenient, great value for money.

Staying in the Gongyuan Riverview King Room at Qinhuai Family Fuzimiao Hotel truly unlocked a perfect Nanjing travel experience! The location is absolutely unbeatable. You step right out onto Fuzimiao Pedestrian Street, and it's just a few minutes' walk to the Qinhuai River painted boat pier. No detours needed for sightseeing, eating, or shopping. The room facilities are super comprehensive; the bedding is soft and skin-friendly, and all the toiletries you could need are provided. Plus, there's a bay window with a fantastic view – just pull back the curtains and you're looking out at the beautiful Qinhuai River. Watching the sunset cast its glow on the river in the evening and admiring the dazzling lights along both banks at night really sets the mood. Being able to enjoy such a breathtaking view from the room is incredibly therapeutic. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Nanjing!

I am not very pleased with my stay at this hotel. While walking along the corridor to my room, I noticed a smell that was musty and the corridor was heavily deodorised. When I used the toilet for the first time, it choked and I had to call the reception to send the someone to clear the toilet bowl. The manager Ying Yue told me that I must not throw the toilet paper into the toilet bowl but instead throw it into the dust bin that was beside the toilet bowl. I was flabbergasted because throwing the toilet paper into the dust bin would mean that the toilet would smell of faeces and urine. Now I understand why the corridor has a musty smell and why it must be deodorised to cover the smell. She said that all hotels in Nanjing had this plumbing problem. I asked her why wasn't there a notice in the toilet to tell guests what to do with the toilet paper after using it. She replied that all local guests know they are not supposed to throw the toilet paper into the toilet bowl and it is the local Nanjing toilet culture. She also mentioned that the toilet paper Atour provided is extra thick and is not soluble, so that's another reason not to throw the toilet paper into the toilet bowl. However, she was nice enough to accompany me to the convenience store next door and paid for two packets of ordinary tissue paper. Another issue I had was the supper provided. It said from 9:30 pm to 11 pm. When we went there on the first night of our stay at 9:40 pm, the rice porridge and millet porridge were totally cold and the 3 types of buns were randomly thrown into two steaming baskets, all mixed up and cold. I asked the young staff why wasn't the buns heated. He couldn't answer. The food didn't look enough to last till 11 pm. On the last night, we went for supper again at 9:30 pm sharp. Both the rice and millet porridge were just lukewarm and I asked the two young staff why wasn't the porridge heated. One of them told me that old and young guests do not like hot porridge. This must be the most absurb statement I have heard about porridge. I think Atour should be more siincere about the supper it offers. Except for the two young staff at the restaurant, all the other reception staff and cleaning ladies were very polite and helpful.

We enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn Aqua City Nanjing. It was connected to the Aqua Mall so it was very convenient to shopping and dining. The cleanliness of the hotel was very impressive. The breakfast buffet was also excellent. There are lots of Chinese food choices and we enjoyed the freshly made chicken noodle soup. The lady who's cleaning the breakfast table has a very nice smile and super friendly. The lady who did the housekeeping was very nice and helpful.

The room offers a bright and clear view of the Qinhuai River right downstairs, which met my expectations. However, the soundproofing was a major issue; I was woken up at 6 AM by neighbors talking. The air conditioner also needs cleaning, as it blew out a musty smell. I've attached a real photo of the beautiful view from the window.

The front desk service was excellent, and the hotel's location is superb, right in Xinjiekou. They offer free parking, which is a big plus. I've been staying here since I was pregnant, whenever I visit Nanjing. This time, I was in Nanjing for my baby's medical appointment, and they thoughtfully arranged two adjacent rooms for us. That was incredibly considerate! Room 02 even has a long sofa bed that can be pulled right over to act as a bed rail, which is so practical for taking care of a baby. They also have a projector, in case you're worried about bright lights for the little one's eyes. The zero-gravity mattress is still the most comfortable. The hotel's hygiene is great, and the delivery service coverage is very wide. It's truly the best choice in the city center with excellent value for money. The front desk staff are all very attentive and thoughtful. Thank you all, I will definitely choose this hotel again next time!

Wonderful hotel located in the heart of the city, only a couple minutes’ walk to the nearest metro station and a shopping mall directly downstairs. Staff were courteous and friendly - front desk kindly offered an upgrade to their Panorama city-view room upon check in, which had a view that lived up to every expectation. Room was extremely spacious to the point of even feeling a bit empty, bathroom amenities were nice and new, zero water pressure issues on floor 39 :) Overall had a very comfortable stay here, would definitely recommend to travellers visiting Nanjing!

Good location as it was near many eateries. Excellent service from the staff who went above and beyond the norm for the customers. Unfortunately, we had cpme for the fruits we saw in the pictures and had read about in the review only to find out that there were no fruits at all. The fruits were only provided on the first day of opening. Fortunately, there are a number of fruit stalls within 5-8mins walking distance nearby. We also found our family queen room to be a bit too simple as it lacked a sofa. Kudos to the team for bringing up another few chairs so we could have a place to sit. You can also borrow a wheelchair if you need one, and you can bring it out of the hotel as well. The beds were a bit on the medium /less firm side. I would have preferred a firmer bed but I understand this is probably to cater to the more international crowd. Breakfast was also a bit too simple, both in variety and taste. But the hot soy milk was good. We didn't eat much as well. Fortunately there were many eateries nearby so it was not a big issue. Just a suggestion, this place would have been perfect for many travellers if they offered 4 single beds instead of 2 big beds. I look forward to coming back to stay again if can consider offering 4 single beds instead of 2 big beds.

Extremely satisfied. The hotel's location is excellent, with direct access from the lobby to the metro, serving lines 3 and 5, making it convenient to get anywhere. The hotel has its own parking, so driving there and then taking the subway is really nice. Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple) is right outside, which is great for sightseeing and dining. The hotel's decor is very cozy, and the rooms are clean and spacious. I must highlight the hotel's attentive service, especially Ningning and Kaikai, who contacted us in advance to communicate and were incredibly thoughtful and thorough, paying special attention to our child. It was a very satisfying stay.
