City Motor Inn

Friendly and welcoming, arrived after hours and so helpful. Great distance from the TWB Hospital and walking distance if you wished. Rooms spacious and comfortable for a home away from home. Would highly recommend.

We had a great stay at the City Motor Inn. The room was spotless and had everything we needed and it was quiet. Great position and we were able to walk into the centre through the lovely Laurel Bank Park which is accessible all hours. The owner is very helpful and ready to help in any way. I would definitely recommend staying here.

We have stayed at this place many times and it never disappoints me,it’s exceptionally clean ,the continental breakfast held in the breakfast room had several choices enough for when your travelling.The staff are very friendly and helpful ,we will definitely stay here again when passing through.

The host was very unhelpful. My employer made an error with my travel on route to Toowoomba. I called my hubbie to see if he could book something as I was arriving around 7 pm. My hubbie made an error booking on line and called the motel. The fellow was strange n said he’d fix the error but if I wasn’t there by 645pm it would be cancelled. I drove quite fast up the range in the fog n got to James street with 10 mins to spare. I called them n advised I was 5 mins away. The guy was very rude n said he told my hubbie it had been cancelled. I asked why n got no reply. I’m over 63 years old n work in a professional capacity still. So no foul language or anything( even thought I was upset n shocked!) I politely asked if I couldn’t get accommodation if he could suggest a safe place in Toowoomba to pull over n sleep in my car. I was serious. He then hung up on me. I rang another motel which was soo courteous n obliging n even. Are in n opened up their office just for me! I was so grateful. I went into my room n cried myself to sleep! It was really all too much! So sad n unnecessary. I’d been working all day and driving for 4 hours.

We had a very good one night stay. The room was very clean and beds comfortable. The staff were very nice and easy to work with. I would not spend the $7 for breakfast as there are plenty of places nearby to eat. We would definitely stay again.

Beautifully maintained motel with spacious and comfy rooms. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating and the location is central to Clifford shopping centre and city centre. I would recommend the kitchenette room for a small family. I will definitely be staying again. Thanks.

The City Motor Inn Toowoomba was a Gem. Everything about it was EXCELLENT. The location, the staff, the room, the bed, the cleanliness. We will definitely stay there on all subsequent visits to Toowoomba from now on. The price was good value for money.

If you enjoy being berated for asking questions, told you are a liar and then being kicked out, the City Motor Inn is the place for you. After missing a sign that said not to back in to the parking spots, I backed into a parking spot and started unloading my belongings into my room. Upon returning to my car for the rest of my stuff, one of the owners approached me and asked me to repark my car "nose in". I had no trouble doing this and did it right away, but I made the mistake of asking why they have this policy, expecting a story about how someone had tried to back in and hit something. Instead I was told people are not very good at backing in and that if I didn't like it I could stay somewhere else! I pointed out that I had already moved my car, but that he could work on his "Customer Service" skills. He then told me that I would not be staying at his motel and that I had been locked out of my room, a room that I had paid for in advance. He then went into the room and removed my belongings and told me to get out. As it was almost 8pm, I did not want to go searching for another place to stay. I told him that if I had said something to justify his BIZARRE reaction (I did not say bizarre, I think I said "something that offended him"), I apologise. That was not good enough and I was forced to go looking for another room. There are two positives about this experience: 1. The room that I found was MUCH nicer than the shoebox that I would have had at the City Motor Inn, 2. I was able to get a full refund of my advance purchase. I guess behaviour like this is why there were only three or four cars in the parking lot.

I stayed for a few nights during September. The room was neat and cozy. The staff were friendly and it was lovely to have a chat when I saw them. The location is great and very easy to get around town. I'll definitely stay there again next time I'm in town! The water pressure was also a winner for me!
