Don't assume that a confirmed reservation here means you actually have a room at this hotel. They might place you at a different hotel in the city. - I booked my room weeks in advance and confirmed my reservation the day of since I was arriving late. When I arrived, they told me the hotel was booked and that they could no longer honor my reservation. - They handed me a piece of paper directing me to Candlewood Suites. No apologies, no offer for transportation to the next hotel, no consideration to let me know before I arrived. They did cover the cost for Candlewood one night, parking at Candlewood (it's already free), and one phone call (??) but told me I needed to return to their hotel the next day. - When I asked if I could arrive early (around 8-10 AM) to transfer hotels or at least check-in/drop off my luggage, they told me 'yes'. - I called to confirm the next morning before heading over and she told me I was misinformed, that no rooms would be available until 1, non-negotiable. Because of work commitments - I couldn't get there at 1. Their proposed solution was that I work from the Starbucks. - When I expressed frustration and called to cancel my reservation for the next night (I just stayed at Candlewood instead so I wouldn't need to move luggage), the individual at the front desk hung up on me. Throughout the process, they acted as if I was being unreasonable to expect a room (that I reserved and confirmed same-day by phone) to be available and that I should be appreciative that they at least found me a room someplace else. I have never had an experience with a hotel before where the staff was so dismissive, rude, unaccommodating, and inconsistent for a problem they created.
