Hotel Heraklion Prefecture dengan Sarapan

Average 3 starts hotel at most. DO NOT TAKE the Harbour view rooms that they are selling as premium rooms as they are over looking the airport runway and the every 3 minutes take offs will drive you crazy day and night. Be ware! The only plus is city Center proximity but there are many other hotels near the Center.

I booked this hotel through AGODA and when I got to the hotel I was told that there was no reservation under my name. I had a confirmation and even an email from the Hotel, so I could not understand. The lady at the reception found me a room but said that could not assure all the stay because they were full. I complained and the manager did all the efforts to understand and found out that AGODA and booking are making reservations with the rates of Olympic Hotel (at Moires a city out of Heraklion), where they were expecting me, and the address of Hotel Olympic. Although it was also not their fault, they were tireless to understand the problem and help me with the booking. I managed to stay there the entire time. They were alaways very nice, the room was perfectly ok and the breakfast also ok for the price. The localization is excellent. A very good choice!

The hotel is pretty clean and modern. We found the beds to be very comfy and the hotel's location was pretty convenient near the old town and port areas. The rooms are well appointed with a couple of chairs, a work area, a coffee/tea station, big TV and a large bathroom. There were enough plugs around the room and many switches with light settings to get it just right. We appreciated the balcony and the view outside but there were some cars that drove by with very loud music each night. The only significant complaint we had was that the bathroom shower leaked very easily in our rooms and got the floor wet near the toilet. The breakfast at the hotel was pretty good with a variety of Crete foods like cheese and pastries. There was fresh scrambled eggs and a very good sausage available as well. The breakfast also had a large variety of preserved fruits that paired well with the Greek yoghurt and included oranges, cherries, grapes and figs. We appreciated that the hotel had inexpensive parking nearby at Central Parking which was 7 Euros per day with unlimited in/out privileges as long as we got a stamp when we got in. The hotel also had a restaurant that offered room service and there was a popular cafe just across the street. This hotel was a good base for exploring Crete with a convenient location near the airport and the price was very fair for us.

Hotel is old but service is excellent. It is very convenient to go to historical site, about 20minutes car ride. Recommended!

Overall, I was very pleased with my choice of hotel. My room overlooked the main square (which was undergoing renovation) and, being on a corner on a high floor, gave good views of both the city and the sea. The decor of my room was a little jaded and well-worn, but it was otherwise clean and comfortable; and it was very enjoyable to sit on the balcony watching and listening to the world below. Breakfast was very pleasant with plenty of choice, especially the local savoury and sweet options. I stayed for 6 nights and found the staff friendly and helpful throughout my time there. The hotel is very conveniently located being close to a number of sights and numerous eateries, all within easy walking distance. The bus stop for Knossos is almost outside the front door, for the airport a few metres away across the road, and there is a mini-mart next door.

Would avoid. Feels like 3* at most. The hotel is in a good location – about all that can be said in terms of positive comments. We found the staff to be a mixture of poorly trained/unprofessional/disengaged. The hotel décor is very dark/gloomy. Our room was not properly cleaned prior to check-in. As others have commented, we found an unacceptable level of maintenance: broken fixtures/fittings in the bathroom and a broken drain in the shower with a danger of injury. The breakfast selection was very basic, drab and unappealing.

Un bellissimo hotel nel cuore di Heraklion.. il personale giovane dinamico efficiente , dalla reception ai servizi di colazione e ristorante al roof, sono a dir poco 10 e lode … Alla reception (una ragazza bionda con gli occhi azzurri di cui non ricordo il nome) molto gentile e cordiale e professionale sulla gestione della città , i ragazzi alla colazione attenti alle esigenze e alle richieste (incredibile ricordavano alla perfezione nei giorni successivi alla prima richiesta ), i ragazzi dell ristorante all’ultimo piano bravi e i cuochi e chef eccezionali .. Se ritorno a Candia, sarà l’unico hire che prenderò in considerazione! Grazie ragazzi a voi tutti Beppe (Giuseppe) A beautiful hotel in the heart of Heraklion .. the young dynamic efficient staff, from the reception to the breakfast services and the restaurant on the roof, are nothing short of top marks … At the reception (a blonde girl with blue eyes whose name I don't remember) very kind and cordial and professional on the management of the city, the guys at breakfast attentive to needs and requests (incredible they remembered perfectly in the days following the first request I made) , the guys from the top floor restaurant and the exceptional cooks and chefs .. If I ever return to Heraklion, it will be the only hotel I will consider! Thanks guys to you all Beppe (Giuseppe)

This is in English for my fellow travelers. Where do I begin? 6 luggages 4 bags and no one flinched their eye to help us, not a welcome, nor a hello! We felt invisible until we went to the reception and what a nightmare it was. The receptionist was manic about all 3 guests giving him the ID Numbers as if the one from the person who booked wasn’t enough. As if our flight wasn’t literally in 8(?) hours.Wouldn’t let us in even tho its not mandatory. Imagine being on the roads for so long, arriving late and having to deal with this. One of my friend wrote his name down and the receptionist called him names because he couldnt read the letters but everyone else could. When went to eat and came back, not even 2 hours after the check in, the man yelled at the same friend who went up on the stairs like he was talking to a bad behaved dog. Said that 3 girls live on the room and showed him the paper that my friend wrote that clearly had a MALE’s name and HOW ON EARTH COULD HE NOT REMEMBER HIM. Its not a five star busy hotel, would rate it a 1, so how busy was he those 2 hours? About the room, found hair in the toilet. Only good thing, the only thing renovated. Old and tiny doors, when you open the door it hits the walls and annoys the guests around. We stayed at 210, its 3 people capacity, the “view” was backrooms and mechanisms, full of pigeons, we were afraid to open the window because they also did nothing to prevent them. I WISH I HAD TAKEN A PICTURE BUT I WAS TOO TIRED TO DEAL WITH THIS. Maybe you will get better luck with the reception service and the room, but I wouldn’t let luck define were I spend my hard worked money so do the same. TRUST THE BAD REVIEWS AND EASTE YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE

Too much noise in the hotel this night (April 15th, 2024) due to groups of young people badly managed by their professors and worse by the hotel management. In the rooms next to mine the music and noisy conservations lasted until 2:00am ! No supervision by the hotel’s night staff and when I mentioned it to the night receptionist, there has been no improvement. I had to knock the door and complain directly to the occupants to make them stop. At 2:00am! To conclude, 1- no management of the distribution of rooms according to the types of people (the hotel knew it was hosting groups of students, it had placed them next to couple travelers), 2- no management of tranquility at night, yet it is clearly the main responsibility of an hotel (one comes to the hotel to sleep!). We wonder how the hotel is managed... Never more nights in Castello City Hotel of Heraklion.

We had the room with huge terrace overlooking the harbour which had an amazing view. Shade and sun at all times of day. Great location near to harbour (both for visiting the fortress and for catching the ferry to Santorini!) and walking distance of lots of restaurants. Their own restaurant is only open for breakfast, but there was a lot of choice (buffet style) and even better views from this top floor. We arrived in a rental car but there was nowhere to park until luckily someone vacated a space in the free area on the street; this would have been a pain if we were keeping the car, but actually we had arranged for it to be collected from here.
