Hotel Mesra Haiwan Peliharaan di Hesperia

I have to say that I expect a bit more from a Marriott branded hotel. I know it is a Springhill and really just a stop on the side of the road for most, but we were disappointed. I will start with the good: The lobby and rooms are very clean and suite was spacious. It did seem weird not to have a door in the doorway between the sleeping area and the living area, but it worked okay. It had the basic amenities - microwave (hidden in a cabinet and containing 2 paper plates and plastic silverware sets), fridge, hair dryer, a small indoor pool (hot tub not working), and a very basic breakfast. The beds were comfortable. Parking was free. It is very convenient to the highway. However, it was the small things that made it feel like a low end motel to me... The only utensils and cups available were really cheap plastic or paper - even at breakfast they had wrapped ”to-go” style plastic silverwear sets and paper plates. No ice available at breakfast... The sausage was grey and looked like it had been reheated multiple times (I can't say for sure because I was afraid to try it ;-)) the eggs were cold Oddly all vending machines were removed (even though there was a sign for ”vending and ice”), so you had to go to the lobby to buy any drinks. There isn't much around the hotel, so we were going to just chill and have a bottle of wine in the room. I realized that the only cups in the room were 2 paper coffee cups, so I went to the front desk to ask for glasses which most Marriotts have available. They had none - the only other cups available were the really cheap plastic ones by the lobby water dispenser. I would have even taken a real mug. We went next door to the Courtyard that has a bar and basic restaurant with real glasses - unfortunately we could not take them back as the two hotels are not associated. They were able to give us some nice plastic cups to take back lol. I choose the Springhill over the Courtyard because it cost me fewer points and had a free breakfast - I guess you get what you pay for. It is a fine value, roadside stay if these kind of things do not bother you. If you prefer more amenities, stay next door at the Courtyard.

We are here for a funeral We checked in June 28th - booked a king room, got a double due to online booking had over booked? But they could try to rebook us on Friday for a king? Unpack /pack /unpack to move. We currently are still here and have had no internet or tv for 3 days - all we were told is that it’s broken- would you like some water? The bistro /bar has been closed as well. After being told it would be open. You have to leave to get a cup of coffee. After 4 days our room was cleaned for the first time. We have been staying here for the last 10 years and this stay has been so disappointing . No compensation has been offered , no explanation has been provided. Unfortunately we will look for another place to stay going forward. Management. This is not ok- communicate to your paying guest.
