In der sogenannten Sülte, dem Gebäudekomplex des Novotel Hildesheim, befand sich früher eine Nervenheilanstalt. Dieses Omen ist kein Schlechtes, denn der Aufenthalt ist nervenschonend und eine Erholung für Körper und Geist. Stadtnah, aber sehr ruhig in einem parkähnlichen Gelände gelegen erwartet einen ein stimmiges, etwas kleineres Zimmer im klassischen (böse Zungen sagen veraltet dazu) Design. Aber alles ist stimmig und passt zum Charakter des Gebäudes. Eine Klimaanlage fehlt und das könnte im Sommer zu Komforteinbußen führen. Die Hotelbar ist richtig gut und keine Beschwerden gibt es auch zum Frühstück. Ein gelungener Aufenthalt und (hoffentlich) als geheilt entlassen.

Das Hotel liegt nahe der Altstadt. Die Zimmer sind genügend gross. Schade, dass man bei Dusche/WC keine bessere Alternative gefunden hat. Die Dusche befindet sich eigentlich im Schlafraum und ist nicht abgetrennt und sehr eng. Das WC ist separat. Unser Zimmer zur Strasse hin war bei geöffnetem Fenster ziemlich laut, aber bei geschlossenen Fenstern ist es gut lärmisoliert. Die Zimmer sind entsprechend der Hotelkategorie relativ einfach eingerichtet, aber sauber. Das Personal an der Rezeption dürfte etwas freundlicher sein! Kommt einem irgendwie wie in einer Jugenherberge vor! Garageplätze sind gegen Aufgeld vorhanden. Für einen Kurzaufenthalt ist das Hotel gut geeignet. Frühstück würde von uns nicht gewählt.

Haben hier auf unserem Weg nach Nordjütland (etwa die Hälfte der Wegstrecke) vom 09.09./10.09.2023 bereits zum zweiten Mal mit unserer kleinen Dackeldame übernachtet. Der Parkplatz direkt vor dem Gebäude kostet 10 Euro pro Tag extra, ist aber aufgrund der Parksituation im Umfeld empfehlenswert. Ebenfalls gut für Hundebesitzer ist der (alte) Marienfriedhof, welcher jetzt ein Park ist und man TAGSÜBER gut seinen Vierbeiner ausführen kann. Das Zimmer / Hotel war in einem schönen / gepflegten Zustand (wie bereits letztes Jahr) und kann bedenkenlos von uns weiter empfohlen werden.

I directly felt very welcome, once I entered the hotel. The staff was very motivated and could help me out directly as there were some issues with the electricity in my room. The motivated and very warm staff made it easy to relax and enjoy the stay. They also explained to me the vegan options they had for breakfast - this is not usual for hotels, so very appreciated! In the room itself, they have also USB-A and USB-C connections, so no worries about forgetting your charger blocks. The room overall was very clean. I was there during a business trip and could also work in total silence and do some meetings. The Internet connection was stable. Keep on doing the good work and hope to see you soon!

Parkhotel Berghölzchen is located in Hildesheim and from the terrace you have a view of the town. Hildesheim did not survive the British ‘Bomb-them-back-to-the-stone-age’ policy. In March 1945 the historical medieval town was flattened in 17 minutes by 227 Harris’ Lancaster bombers. 1,645 people died. The Parkhotel was built in 1994 and offers 78 rooms over 5 floors. Staffs are friendly and welcoming. Our room was relatively small but tastefully furnished and decorated with desk & chair, flat-screen TV on the wall & wardrobe. We had a good twin bed, and a separate bathroom with toilet, washroom & shower. All was very clean. Complimentary mineral water, but no coffee & tea facility. The area is very quiet. The window can be open but has no mosquito screen. Free Wi-Fi Internet and parking. The sauna facility is small but adequate. The buffet breakfast is excellent with ample variety: eggs made to offer, cold cuts, bread and rolls, juices, cereals, fruit, milk, yoghurt, fruit juice, tea & coffee. The atmosphere in the Berghölzchen hotel is modern and we had a nice stay. Recommended.
