Hostels di Chengdu

The make up room is pretty nice have two good hair dryers and good lighting as well as a few straighteners. The toilets smells really bad though and there’s one seat toilet and the rest is squat toilets and the seating toilet for some reason is always occupied I’ve never seen it unoccupied even at 5am, so I don’t know if someone is using it or it’s not available to use. The shower has shampoo and shower gel, you’ll need to bring your own towel. They provide single use toothbrush and tooth paste, the washing machine is charged and there are only three of them 15mins cost 3 yuan sth like that and you’ll need to wait. There is only one dryer but it’s always occupied one round takes around two hours and it’s also charged separately. Won’t recommend to wash your clothes there. The room is nice and clean and everyone has your own locker, but you are not allowed to bring in your luggage into your room, have to leave it in the luggage storage room and they’ll provide you with a bag to store your needed essentials to bring to the room. You are also required to change to their provided slippers when entering the room. Water dispenser is provided. There are common areas for you to eat and do your work as you are also not allowed to eat in your room. It’s located on the 4th floor of a mall (side with the McDonald’s and KFC) so at around 10pm the mall closes and all the exits are locked so you’ll only be able to exit through the toilet passages. When calling didi make sure to check your which side of the mall you are in. Overall, I would say for its price it’s quite decent if you want to save some money for other things.

You can be proud of your hostel, the best hostel in the World. 10 years of travelling non stop, more than 450 hostel I slept. Never saw a hostel like yours. Everything is amazing! Also all the Staff are super nice ! I'm a foreigner from Belgium and Im not joking. Congratulations ! 🏆🥇🌏

Situated within the old town. Filled with food options downstairs. Many stores as well. Touristy place. Don’t expect too much for this price. The general area and room are clean enough. Mattress is thin but didn’t bother me much for my three nights stay. Squad toilet with shower overhead. Small cubicle but enough to move around and does it’s work. Might be hard to find the place, so give the boss a call when you are in the area. He will guide you up this apartment. Stairway is dark and dirty. But then again, for this price. Go with an open mind. Eight person dorm has window that opens out to the outside. Whereas the four person room is much smaller and window opens out to the living room. Btw, the boss stay in the hostel compound too. He’s happy to share his travel stories and recommend places to go.

Pros: all women, I felt very safe, and there are a variety of spaces for different uses (e.g. desks, sofas, floor cushions). It's also very quiet and, at least during my stay, guests were very polite. Bonus: there's a bum gun in one of the loos! Cons: the bathroom was a little dirty (there's some mould above head height in the showers) and restocking of soap and toiletries was hit and miss. The mattress was also very thin.

The staff were very friendly and helpful despite the language barrier. Personally, I found the bathrooms and rooms slightly unkempt and felt they could have done with a bit more cleaning and sweeping. The kitchen was also quite dirty, which made me hesitant to use it. I was disappointed to find out that I had to pay to use the washing machine, as the description stated it was free. However, the communal areas had lots of useful amenities, including games, computers, a coffee stand, free umbrellas, and hot water, which was really nice.

Lokasi hotel ini sangat mudah dicari, dengan pengangkutan awam yang mudah di sekelilingnya, dan senang untuk mencari tempat makan serta membeli-belah. Bilik sangat bersih, tiada bau yang tidak menyenangkan, kemudahan lengkap dan berfungsi dengan baik, dan katil sangat selesa. Kakitangan di kaunter penerimaan tetamu (front desk) sangat peramah dan sabar menjawab semua soalan. Pengalaman keseluruhan melebihi jangkaan, dengan nilai untuk wang (value for money) yang sangat tinggi, memang sangat disyorkan!

First, shoutout to the staff, because they were all superb, very helpful, friendly, and on top of everything - spoke great English. The hostel itself has a really nice bar area with daily live music. The cocktails and coffee are amazing, and there are also reasonably priced breakfast options (that I personally haven't tried) that you can enjoy indoors or outdoors. The hostel offers daily activities and access to tours and private drivers, so you may want to check it out before you book yourself for something. Location-wise, there is a metro stop a short walk away, and taxis never had issues finding the hostel, but you'll always be picked up on the other side of the street. It's within a walking distance from the Wenshu Monastery, and therefore street food area - very convenient. My room was a four-people bedroom (female only) and the room itself, although small, it was clean. So were the bedsheets. The towels are not provided, so bring your own, but shower gel and shampoo are. Having bathroom inside the room is definitely convenient, but can be a nightmare if your roommates come back and use a hair dryer at 1am. It's not the hostel's fault, but pointing it out as something you may want to consider discussing with your roommates. Each person in the room will have a locker assigned too (mine didn't have a lock, but the others' did, so you may want to check that with the staff. Personally, I wasn't bothered). There is also a communal fridge and washing machine (for an extra fee) on the second floor. Overall, I'd say it was a great experience and a nice hang-out spot in Chengdu!

I stayed at Chengdu XiangPi Inn for one night (April 14–15, 2026) and booked a bed in the 6-person male-only shared room. Overall, it was a solid budget-friendly option, but there are a few things worth noting depending on what you’re looking for. The biggest plus is definitely the price—you get exactly what you pay for, and for a short stay it does the job. The room itself was fairly basic but functional. The bed was decent enough for one night, and the space didn’t feel overly cramped despite having multiple occupants. That said, privacy is minimal, as expected in a shared dorm setup. Cleanliness was okay, though not perfect. The shared bathroom was usable but could have been maintained a bit better, especially during busier hours. If you’re particular about hygiene, this is something to keep in mind. The atmosphere was quiet enough when I stayed, and most guests were respectful, which made it easier to rest. Staff interactions were limited but smooth—check-in and check-out were straightforward without any issues. Overall, Chengdu XiangPi Inn is a practical choice if you’re traveling on a tight budget and just need a place to sleep for a night or two. It’s not luxurious, but it’s functional and reasonably comfortable for short stays.

The hostel is in a great location but it looks nothing like in the pictures, there is just one bathroom in the whole hostel and is very dirty so shower is not enjoyable. The room doesn't have a window so there is no ventilation.

Excellent stay! The room was incredibly comfortable and the atmosphere was very relaxing. I had a wonderful time here and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect getaway. Five stars!
