TTuan Ying GohSituated within the old town. Filled with food options downstairs. Many stores as well. Touristy place. Don’t expect too much for this price. The general area and room are clean enough. Mattress is thin but didn’t bother me much for my three nights stay. Squad toilet with shower overhead. Small cubicle but enough to move around and does it’s work. Might be hard to find the place, so give the boss a call when you are in the area. He will guide you up this apartment. Stairway is dark and dirty. But then again, for this price. Go with an open mind. Eight person dorm has window that opens out to the outside. Whereas the four person room is much smaller and window opens out to the living room. Btw, the boss stay in the hostel compound too. He’s happy to share his travel stories and recommend places to go.

PPengguna TetamuMy advice? Do not stay here. There are two bathrooms and they permanently smell like awful stinky urine. I had to go buy bleach and clean myself to be able to use it, three hours later the smell was the same. Beds are fooor hard, the bed sheets and towels are super clean. The owner is the kindest guy. But this is like a frat house. It’s mainly Chinese men full time living here, they all smoke in the kitchen. There’s a cat that meows like crazy at 5 am.
There’s a washing machine that you can use. It’s an old flat building, extremely hard to find. Also they moved so the adress now is same building block but building one floor 5. Exit elevator and it’s the door in your right.
Again, owner is the kindest and most helpful person. But if you can afford something better just do.

PPengguna Tanpa NamaPros: all women, I felt very safe, and there are a variety of spaces for different uses (e.g. desks, sofas, floor cushions). It's also very quiet and, at least during my stay, guests were very polite. Bonus: there's a bum gun in one of the loos!
Cons: the bathroom was a little dirty (there's some mould above head height in the showers) and restocking of soap and toiletries was hit and miss. The mattress was also very thin.

The place was clean and odor-free, and I loved the terrace area. The front desk was super helpful and answered all my questions. Highly recommend for a comfortable, hassle-free stay in central Chengdu!

PPengguna TetamuThe room I booked was absolutely filthy. I don’t think it was cleaned for months. I even tried to clean to sink a bit with a toothbrush and most of it came of easily, just was not done. However: the bed was clean! And it was nice to have a private balcony. If you want a quiet evening, don’t stay here.
But the staff was absolutely delightful and I felt like vibes were good. Very close to everything with a metro station nearby.
If you want to meet international travellers, some may stay there but it is mostly Chinese young men.

Kakitangan di kaunter penerimaan tetamu (front desk) sangat peramah dan sabar menjawab semua soalan. Pengalaman keseluruhan melebihi jangkaan, dengan nilai untuk wang (value for money) yang sangat tinggi, memang sangat disyorkan!

The atmosphere was quiet enough when I stayed, and most guests were respectful, which made it easier to rest. Staff interactions were limited but smooth—check-in and check-out were straightforward without any issues.
Overall, Chengdu XiangPi Inn is a practical choice if you’re traveling on a tight budget and just need a place to sleep for a night or two. It’s not luxurious, but it’s functional and reasonably comfortable for short stays.
