🔥 For no more than $15-20 a night, this hostel is an absolute steal. It’s extremely well-located (within 7 minute biking distance to INS, the famous multi-level club) and other major shopping areas in Shanghai. 🌃 🛏️ The bunk beds are spacious and very comfortable, and there are additional lockers in the rooms to place valuable items if you have them. The hotel will give you a disposable towel when you arrive, you can request extras for free if you stay additional days. They also give you plastic slippers to wear around the hotel. You have to make your own bed with the provided linens, but it was fairly convenient to do so. 🫧There are separate men/women washrooms, and the bathroom/shower room have provided hair dryers! In the evening, it can get kind of… wet 💧 in the bathroom 🫣 because people track the water from the shower into the sink area. I would suggest the hotel add an industrial floor dryers inside the bathroom to take care of this, and adding some air freshener/incense would make a big difference. 🌸 🧺 There’s also a washing machine & provided detergent you can use! There’s no dryer, so everyone hangs their clothes to dry on the racks. I had no issues- left everything hanging up and retrieved it the next day. Will 100% be back. The price & convenience is unbeatable and the staff are lovely.

I met other young people there who are also solo travellers, so this is a good place for young tourists who want to socialise. There is one shared toilet per 6 people, and my toilet was clean. There’s even washing machine and dryers in the corridor. Great place to stay, it’s somewhat near to The Bund and Nanjing street.

I like the place♥️, it's right in front of the road. And the bus stop is 3 minutes walk away.🚌 Then the metro 🚇 is very accessible, super close. That's what I liked about the hotel. It's clean. I stayed there in any bed. The girls' toilets and shower area are clean. The lady who cleans every day is helpful and hardworking. The thing is, it's hard in a hotel like yours and there are big kids who weigh more than 20 kilos. It's hard to go up. They don't have an elevator, so I was burdened with my luggage. so far so good .. the staff and the owner they are so friendly and because the transportation area is really very accessible.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Amazing staff, close to the INS club, free water and equipment. The people are so nice here. Can really recommend it!

The location was very convenient. Jing’an Temple was about a 10-minute walk away, and most of the attractions on my list were within a short bike ride. The area was lively, with plenty of shops, cafés, and restaurants nearby. The common area was cozy and comfortable. I especially appreciated the dressing tables and mirrors available for guests. The atmosphere felt calm and welcoming. The staff member at reception was very kind and helpful. She even gave me a small souvenir magnet when I checked in and later helped me fill out my postcards, which I really appreciated. There were, however, a few issues. Reception is only accessible by stairs, with no elevator or luggage assistance, which can be difficult when arriving with a large suitcase. The six-bed dorm felt much more crowded than it should have because it was filled with clothing, suitcases, and other belongings that did not appear to belong to the current guests. It seemed as though items had been left behind and simply accumulated over time. Despite the room being reasonably spacious, the excess storage made it feel cramped and difficult to move around comfortably. The bathroom also raised some safety concerns. There was no bath mat or barrier to keep water contained, and after one guest used the shower, water spread well beyond the bathroom area. I slipped, nearly fell and hit my arm because of it. I was once again surprised to find that there was no full-length mirror. This may seem like a small detail, but having one full-length mirror in a female dormitory or at least in the common area would be very useful. Towels were not provided, which is worth noting for future guests. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and found the hostel comfortable and well located, but there are a few practical issues that could be improved.

The staff were brilliant: genuinely helpful and welcoming. They gave me a disposable towel and tissues free of charge, which normally costs ¥3 — a small gesture, but a kind one that made a difference. A few honest notes if you're coming from somewhere like Japan (as I was): manage your expectations on cleanliness. Japanese hostels spoil you — spotless rooms, no smells, the lot. China is different, and this place is no exception. The toilet had a bit of an odour, and the rooms could do with more regular ventilation. It's not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing. On the plus side: free drinking water to fill your bottle, paid laundry on-site, and that unbeatable central location. The rooms themselves are decent enough nothing flash, but perfectly fine for the price. Finding the place: Google Maps is patchy in China at best. I'd strongly recommend downloading Baidu Maps or Amap (高德地图) before you arrive — they're far more reliable here. If you do use Google Maps, cross-reference the address with the Chinese name 登巴客栈 (Dengba Hostel) to avoid ending up on the wrong side of town. Overall, a solid 4-star stay — perhaps I'm slightly biased coming straight from Japan, but for the price and location, it's a sound choice.

El lugar me pareció aceptable. El servicio muy cordial y amable (nos quisieron hasta regalar un cargador), la ubicación tmb está buena, está cerca el metro, y lugares para comer. El hotel es viejo, la habitación es chica. Para una estadía corta recomiendo, no más de dos días.

Booked this hotel last minute, cause my favorite hotel is closing down business this month and i wanted something nearer cause I’m well versed with the surrounding areas, 1: the first red flag is the reception, mail and deliveries are all piled up and falling off shelves, it’s so dirty and humid, it looks like a hoarder’s poach, they’re no waiting chairs, so you’ll stand while they process the guests that came before you until it’s your turn !! The receptionists are very nice and helpful . 2; no room housekeeping ( you’ll have to ask for someone to come take the rubbish and give you towels or change your bedding. 3: THE FILTH!!! The filth is on level 1000/100 the grime made it hard for me to shower with my eyes open, I’m not sure if the place has a manager and if they care about the the wellbeing of the clients , because from what i saw, the cleaners don’t even bother, the floor had food stains from i think when they just opened, the sink🤮 the bathroom ( that one corner gave me the hibbigibeis) the toilet seat was broken , everything in the bathroom was broken and dirty , then my charger fell in the space which is between the bathroom glass and the bed, got down to retrieve it and i decided it was best to just a get a new charger instead. The place if cleaned and cared for would be an amazing hotel apartment, it has great amenities , a washing machine a fridge and a drying rack if you upgrade to a bigger room, a kitchenette that would be great if you are interested in cooking and staying longer and it’ has an Aldi downstairs, a gym and lots of other great places surrounding it . I really hope the owners would read this and take it into consideration and carry out serious supervision or else their property will lose value, The hygiene of the hotel does not only ensure the health and wellness of the visitors who sleep in those walls but also keeps the property value up. Dirt And filth only brings it down and puts the health of others at risk . I really hope they change standards.
