I recently had the pleasure of staying at a youth hostel that truly stood out for its exceptional qualities. Nestled in a residential area, its location was incredibly convenient, offering a tranquil retreat just a bike ride away from the city center—less than 10 minutes to be exact. This made for peaceful nights, ensuring a restful sleep in a safe environment. The hostel is run by a delightful couple whose hospitality knew no bounds. They were not only eager to assist with any issues that arose but also went above and beyond by providing bicycles. This thoughtful touch significantly enhanced my mobility around Houston, allowing me to reach various destinations swiftly. What set this hostel apart was the attention to detail and the array of complimentary amenities, including cookies, milk, cereal, coffee, and tea. The cleanliness and smart technology throughout the house contributed to a seamless stay, making it the best hostel experience I've ever had. The bathroom towels folded into swan shapes were a testament to the owners' dedication to detail, adding a touch of elegance and care. The warmth of the place was akin to being at home, with the owners always ready for a chat, eager to answer questions, and share their stories and experiences. A highlight for me was the world map on the living room wall, where guests could pin their home countries—a fun and interactive way to connect with fellow travelers. In summary, this hostel was more than just a place to stay; it felt like a home, or perhaps more accurately, a homestay. It's undoubtedly the best hostel I've ever stayed in globally, blending the comfort of a home with the adventurous spirit of a hostel.

This hostel was perfect for my 2 night stay trip. It has a nice outside lounge area and pool. There's a restaurant/bar on site as well as a laundromat and corner store on the same block. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I was able to get there easily by bus/the red line. There's limited dining and nightlife in the immediate area.

It was a pleasant stay. I had my favourite foods. I was planning on going to an amusement park and this helped me rest up, and enjoy my time in Houston while I was eventually going somewhere else. .

Unfortunately, this is in a very loud area and some lot looks scary as there are broken down vehicles in the parking lot and you can hear everything from room to room everything looks rundown as far as the shower and Room went, but also, I feel like the grounds of the area were filthy. this is off the highway, so I expect it to be somewhat loud, but it was overly loud from my personal liking, but I do give customer service a thumbs up.

Could only rate this a 3 because it was clean and breakfast was good. Room was very dated with old carpet and bathroom was not great. First, the safety lock on the door was held on by one screw. Useless. Bathroom once had a tub but that was removed to make the room handicapped accessible. Tub drain was the only drain for the shower and the conversion was a shotty job. Shower floor was not level and would not drain. Another drain was installed in the middle of the room which was useless. Water flowed over the shower area and made the entire bathroom floor wet. Had to ask for more cloth bathmats just to soak up the water. We only had a half a roll of toilet paper with no new rolls. An attempt to make the floor look new, contractor just put a thin layer of grout over the old and that is why floor in front of sink had black grout. Maybe another room without a conversion would be better. Room had mini fridge, microwave, tv, small safe and coffee maker. Front desk staff were nice and check in was easy. Not a bad hotel if you’re looking for inexpensive with easy access to highway.

PPengguna TetamuTwo words to sum up: RUN and HORRIBLE! I really don't even know where to start from. We booked this hotel at almost $80 a night but it was not worth even a penny. We pulled in late at night and there was a group of suspicious people right in front of the office. In fact there were a lot of shady people pretty much all around the property. I still held into my nerves and start looking for the office. Office was dark and the door was locked. One suspicious lady even told me to leave and that office is closed at night. I knew her information was not accurate and start looking for any signs for after hours check in. There was a small note on the front door to check in with the side window if the door is locked. I went to the side window and it was shut, locked and dark. There was a ringer outside on a broken dented wall and was not working. Of course by this time I had a lot of attention from unwanted people just hanging and walking within the property. I knocked on the window for sometime before finally somebody turned the lights on from inside and open the window. My room was on the third floor and with small kids and bags it was a huge hassle to take stairs. I was told that elevator was not working and when I looked at the elevator I knew why. It looked like somebody blew it up as it was literally ripped apart. The whole hotel was dirty and filthy as there were trash everywhere and all over. We went to our room and it was barely livable. Walls had dent, hole, and water leak markings. Refrigerator was dirty as hell and the floor was sticky as honey. Stove and its knobs were all broken and I was so afraid to even touch it to avoid any possible gas leak disaster. Restroom was extremely small and literally had a kid size broken sink. Bathroom was small and only had a one small soap. There was no shampoo or conditioner. Only two towels were provided for the entire family size room. Both towels had stains and were dirty. Air condition worked but was loud and noisy. I went downstairs to get more towels and after a lot of question and answer I was given some and even those had holes and stains! Of course they had no return/refund policy regardless of the reason so moving out after paying a hefty price was not an option for me. My entire stay was very uncomfortable and I didn't feel safe at all. Thank god that nothing happened to me or my car and I got out in 1 piece. This hotel needs a complete renovation from bottom up. First and foremost, security needs to be tightened up and they need to get rid of suspicious people. Wish I can give zero star!

PPengguna TetamuThe first night we found the ice machines did not work, there were no ice cube trays, no hangars, no hanger rail, eight (8) stations that worked on the TV (7 others froze when you tried to watch them), German bugs crawling on the floor, the stove and the walls, no garbage bin, and, worst of all, the freezer did not even work and the fridge was keeping items only lukewarm after we purchased over $100.00 of food at Walmart. The filter on the faucet in the sink was broken so each time we turned it on, it sprayed water all over the vanity. We mentioned all of this to the Staff. We would have left had it not been for HARRY, who was a gentleman throughout our stay in every way he could. The problem was that he was only on duty a couple of nights a week and we were there for 14 days. The next morning we met HAPPY, the manager, who assured us our problems we be addressed starting with the refrigerator. In fact, it took 3 days to replace the refrigerator and by then much of our food was spoiled. However, the new refrigerator and freezer did work perfectly thereafter. For the refrigerator, we have to thank DEERAY, another gentleman who helped in every way he could, including repairing one of the ice machines, except it took until the day before we left for that to occur. When we received a garbage bin, it was filthy and it smelled. LILI assured us she would replace one morning. But we returned that night to find that the old one was still sitting inside the main door. I told her again the next day that she had never replaced it and she assured me, as she took the dirty bin with her, she would have it cleaned and replaced in the room,. In fact, we returned that night to find we had no garbage bin at all! We discovered her the next morning (#3) and she claimed she had no access to our room-though she works there and we later learned that was not true. But she at least finally returned it on the spot, clean, so we finally had a workable garbage bin for the first time in almost a week. When I arrived at the front desk on another day in December, I asked for fresh towels and provided the old ones. (No one ever knocked on our door for room service the entire time we were there so we simply had to help ourselves.) The girls at the desk told us to simply go to the laundry room with the dirty towels and replace them ourselves. When I did so, I find a short, older Mexican lady who let me walk past her as she was on a personal phone call (she spoke only Spanish) and, after I returned the towels and finally found some replacements and was leaving with them, she began screaming her head off in Spanish that I could not take the towels. I explained to her that the girls at the desk had directed me to replace the towels myself, and then she let me take them, adding that I was never to enter the linen room again. I told her that she had let me in while she was on a personal phone call and that room service was nonexistent so what was I supposed to do? She just kept scr
