MyCrib Houston Hostel

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a youth hostel that truly stood out for its exceptional qualities. Nestled in a residential area, its location was incredibly convenient, offering a tranquil retreat just a bike ride away from the city center—less than 10 minutes to be exact. This made for peaceful nights, ensuring a restful sleep in a safe environment. The hostel is run by a delightful couple whose hospitality knew no bounds. They were not only eager to assist with any issues that arose but also went above and beyond by providing bicycles. This thoughtful touch significantly enhanced my mobility around Houston, allowing me to reach various destinations swiftly. What set this hostel apart was the attention to detail and the array of complimentary amenities, including cookies, milk, cereal, coffee, and tea. The cleanliness and smart technology throughout the house contributed to a seamless stay, making it the best hostel experience I've ever had. The bathroom towels folded into swan shapes were a testament to the owners' dedication to detail, adding a touch of elegance and care. The warmth of the place was akin to being at home, with the owners always ready for a chat, eager to answer questions, and share their stories and experiences. A highlight for me was the world map on the living room wall, where guests could pin their home countries—a fun and interactive way to connect with fellow travelers. In summary, this hostel was more than just a place to stay; it felt like a home, or perhaps more accurately, a homestay. It's undoubtedly the best hostel I've ever stayed in globally, blending the comfort of a home with the adventurous spirit of a hostel.

This was a solo trip to Houston, a beautiful city, for my birthday. While i was on my flight to Houston, i decided to stay at a hostel. I looked at a couple facilities but Mycrib was affordable and appeared to be a safe, clean, place to stay. My stay was comfortable and the hosts were very friendly and cool to hang out with. I would definitely recommend this hostel to any small group or solo travelers.

Clean and comfortable. Respectful environment. Good value. The first three people I met were from three different countries! Location is within mile of bus terminal on Gray St. The park and Rice university are close and should be visited.

Beautiful place, clean and modern. Location is excellent to explore Houston. Harold and Kathy were very kind and went above to make it comfortable. The kitchen facilities were above average and bathroom even had Terra cotta tiling. I really enjoyed speaking with the staff.

I enjoyed my stay at the hostel, although they changed my bed and moved my things without authorization. The couple was friendly, they lent me a bicycle, as it was a bit far to walk to some places.

Harold and Cathy were EXCELLENT hosts. The hostel is new, elegant, upscale and in a good part of town. The beds were super nice and the hostel is super clean. Highly recommended from a serious hostel traveler. Cookies, cereal, coffee and tea in the morning.

Lovely hostel. Clean, spacious, good kitchen, cute community space, cozy bed, really nice bathrooms. Entry works as instructed, no problems w gate and door codes. Friendly staff too. Close enough to transit. A little deserted on the street at night - I wouldn’t walk there without paying close attention to my surroundings. Take a Lyft or a taxi if you’re concerned and you’ll be fine. Check-in ends at 6pm and I was rolling into town on the train with a 7pm eta so I called and Cathy sent me detailed instructions for self check-in. Perfectly easy and clear. I’d stay here again for sure!

The place was ABOSULUTELY AMAZING. Best and most luxorious hostel I have ever been to. Owner was extremely helpful and easy to communicate with. It´s not very far from the centre either, and it feels more like an appartment then a hostel. Extremely clean, super safe and comfortable!
