The entire building smelled like cat pee and human pee, I don’t think animals are even aloud so that’s the confusing part. Our key didn’t work, after having it replaced 3 times, the worker came to open our door with a key. When we got in our a/c didn’t work, it was the middle of summer so obviously that isn’t going to be okay when you have an infant. The only positive thing I will say about this hotel is when we asked to get our money back the worker was nice, understanding and easy to talk to.

The shower didn't work in my room. Didn't find out till I was standing in it. Then was let in a different room to shower and I took a cold shower in there. It drained slower that the shower so water was up to my ankles. Went down for breakfast and everything was out of order except the toaster.

The entire place was dirty and run down. The pool was closed. Went to have breakfast, the waffle maker was broken and the juice machine was out of order also. Tried to at least have cereal, the milk was 10 days expired. The room floor was so dirty, my soles of my shoes were sticking to the laminate flooring. Obviously I will never stay here again.

This Econo Lodge in Hot Springs, SD is utterly disappointing! The hallways are filthy; the water doesn’t get hot; the swimming pool is closed due to faulty equipment; and the morning breakfast is a sad joke. Worst of all, the staff doesn’t even care. The girl who checked us in last night cited as though my presence was bothering her. She had absolutely no customer service skills! Stay away; stay far away from this dump when visiting Hot Springs.

There were dead bugs all over the floor. The bed was terrible. The room stunk. One of the workers barged in while we were in there without knocking. After this I didn't want to stay there. The receptionist said they could make it like I was never there and that I'd get a refund, however, I checked the next day on my account and I was still charged. I called and they refused to issue a refund due to their policy. 120 bucks for nothing. Very upset.

I loved that they welcomed my dogs and stayed for free. There is an enclosed dog park across the street!!! The staff was very welcoming and great breakfast. Rooms were clean, I would definitely stay here again. Great location to the black hills.
