The location was kind of convenient but then again, to what? The service was friendly, proficient and professional. I spilled a beverage on the bathroom floor so I used some tissues to wipe it off, lo and behold the tissues turned black. I was gobsmacked. Similar situation occurred in the living area with identical results. So needless to say hygiene is not of primary importance. Also when closed the toilet seat, the rear of the cover was stained with, I would imagine, urine. The Kitchen: The Chef and the maitre de saved the day as the dinner was of a very high standard, Congratulations guys, well done 👏 ✔️

Chef Surjeet's exceptional Jain cuisine was a highlight, serving us some of the finest dishes we've ever savored. The spa experience was sublime, and a room overlooking the stunning Dal Lake would have made it truly surreal. However, the real magic was created by the exceptional staff, particularly Fozia, Ummer, and Suhail, whose warmth, gratitude, and hospitality made our stay nothing short of enchanting. Fabulous location, we were welcomed very warmly and the car was valet parked which was important as it was cold and raining. We were offered a warm drink and a comfortable place to sit whilst the formalities of check in were completed. We didn’t even have time to finish our drink before we were offered an upgraded room at no extra cost. WOW! The room was spacious, beautifully dressed and we were shown our own private balcony with the most spectacular view and this was also very nicely furnished. Everything was as we’d hoped and expected, because the hotel is EXPENSIVE, but we received exactly what we paid for. All the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the Pandemic has affected everyone and this hotel has had to do it’s best to survive these difficult times. The facilities in the Spa have been cut back to save costs but when we went to use it the place was warmed and treatments were enhanced to ensure we were more than satisfied. Luxury is expensive and we really enjoyed the pampering!!! All I can say is that this hotel and the treatment of their guests is everything you would expect for the price you have to pay. If wehad unlimited money we would stay only here when we visit Kashmir, which I do often to visit family. Even when we do visit family here we often visit the hotel, just to enjoy the gardens and admire the building and the ambience. Although we may not spend one penny on these visits the treatment by the staff has always been the same as we experienced on this visit. One word to describe this hotel FABULOUS.

We stayed one night in Canada House Boat.. It was a normal experience and not so Great.. We booked the house Boat based on the 4* rating in the reviews... It is located in Nigeen Lake and not at Dallake which was concealed in reviews.. House boat is OK.. It was bit calm and quiet as it is Nigeen Lake.. But get easily get bored as nothing to do in the houseboat unless u people visit as a group..(Nothing to do with Canada House Boat) Only the bathroom was really neat and clean.. The caretaker was lazy and not cleaning the tables properly(in deck as well)... feel bit substandard.. Manager was supportive... for arranging the shikara when we checked in at late night..

PPengguna TetamuA hotel inside a shopping complexes. The whole complex was shabby and cold. When we arrived the receptionist had poor understanding of English. The hotel was completely empty and the restaurant had a sign saying “Opening Soon” printed on paper and stuck with tape. This was like a warning of a poorly operated establishment. Rooms: Warning Noise: look outside your window and check for the generator next to it. The first room we were put in was right next to it. When I asked to move they said it was not a problem it will be off in 30 minutes. It did go off but we had to bear that noise for too long. Warning Cold: the room was like a fridge. It is large and sparsely furnished. There was no way the heater/AC was going to make it bearable. After two hours of complaining and multiple visits by “technicians” and other foolish people they moved us to a smaller room where at least a tiny bit of heat was coming from the heater/AC. They supplied another tiny fan heater and by about 11pm the room was bearable. The bathroom remained like a fridge. Warning Dirty Bathroom: the bathroom had long hairs in the sink and on the floor. You could see dust in various places. The water that filled the bucket was yellowish! Rusting pipes or worse? They didn’t switch on the hot water so we had to ask them. It obvious there is some pressure pump on the hot side but none on the cold supply so it was difficult to get warm water. It was either scolding hot or freezing with a tiny movement of the adjustment. Warning Restaurant: the place had a forlorn and empty feeling. All the tables had a layer of dust which showed that they had no guests for a long time and nobody expected they would come. The food was pathetic. Service: this place was like a comedy sketch. The characters were surly and not at all understanding to the meaning of dealing with guests and seemed completely oblivious to the obvious failures as though this was normal and to be expected. The owner must be loosing in crores their investment in this pathetic attempt at running a hotel.
