Pool was my favorite & our room was directly across from Minute Maid!

侯爵萬豪在國內可是頂頂大名的一個酒店品牌啊，例如説上海的那一家是多麼的優秀！但很可惜，就算如侯爵萬豪這種高端偏上的品牌，在美國也一般得不行行。不是説它差，就是⋯⋯僅僅合格吧，和國內的亞朵差不多。 大堂是挺大氣的，有點國內的喜來登的水平了，本想：“太好了！終於在美國找到一個水平對標國內的酒店品牌了”，可惜，房間又小又沒亮點。國內的侯爵萬豪都是進房間便舒服得不想離房的，感覺離開一秒也浪費了那麼好的環境，但是這家侯爵萬豪的房間嘛，我是沒有這種很想留在房間的感覺的，水平對標國內亞朵。 服務方面，沒有開夜床，辦理入住時一切都很公式化，不是説沒禮貌，但就是很沒温度，像超市收銀員的感覺，這些都是在國內的侯爵萬豪不會出現的，或起碼不容許出現的。 總的來説，這侯爵萬豪乾淨整齊，人員有基本禮貌，用來睡覺沒問題，但亦僅此而已，不是一家值得探店的酒店。

This hotel is pretty cool. Karen checked me in and was very thorough. Though she did say that there were some complimentary drinks in the lounge at a certain hour which apparently no longer exists when I went up there and asked. Room was great and had a cool view of the pool The pool has a lazy river in the shape of Texas! I lived in Houston once for three years and never knew that. Also has a plastic/glass door in the lazy river that seems like an infinity pool cause it's right over the building. There is also an infinity pool. How crazy is that! Hot tub is great! Marriott Platinum Elite lounge is really nice and the ladies were so nice in there and really helped me and my friend in a lady emergency. Restaurants downstairs all looked nice but didn't get a chance to go to any of them. Parking is ridiculously expensive for Houston and a walk past the convention center. Valet is also expensive. Most hotels have parking on property which I found this really strange. Ballrooms are nice but they wouldn't let me cut through a certain floor to the fedex so I could ship something on the second floor. It was obvious that I was shipping something. So we went downstairs and across the way only to find that the escalator on the other side wasn't working. So we had to go all the way back to the other side to then the third floor and across and then go down on that side. Would have been easier if they had just let us go through the second floor. Wasted 30 minutes and gave us all that hassle for nothing. Would not let me have late check out even though I requested when I booked months before. I know other people were able to get one who were not even elite status. I needed it because of work. Annoying. Makes me not want to stay there again during a conference. Really nice hotel but should be better for the price you pay hands down. So expensive. Especially with the whole issue with the shipping and the parking and the check out. What a mess.

The Marriott Marquis is all about the pool! I stayed here in 2018 when the hotel was new and again last week for a work conference. The room was clean and showed very little sign of wear and tear. Altitude, the roof top pool deck, was the best! With the infinity pool, jacuzzi, and lazy river, it really gives off a resort type vibe. The pool staff was very attentive, especially Duane (pool manager), who is always monitoring things and checking on guests to make sure they are attended to and well taken care of. I participated in the Sunday Zumba class, which I Ioved and was so much fun. Plus, you can't get a better view. One night, I stayed at the pool until 10:00 pm because I just didn't want to leave. The drinks and service at the pool bar were great. Lots of restaurant options nearby, too! This is the best place to stay in downtown Houston, hands down!!

Ms Karen was amazing. She accommodated Courtney and I in the best of ways, starting with the best view from the 21st floor! Followed by a beautiful amenity for my friend and I to enjoy for her birthday. I truly rate the beautiful hotel a 10 for staff and ambiance. Drinks were amazing at the pool as well!

Walls are paper thin. You can hear literally everything in the hotel rooms next you. Full conversations. DO NOT STAY HERE. There are connecting doors in each room that must be made out of cardboard, because it is basically like I am staying with the people in the room next to me.

Valet is challenging, particularly in a busy hotel but Devonte and his team did a great job. In and out quick! Very smooth process. Also very courteous staff and very helpful. Making Houston look good. Kudos to the entire for giving that extra effort.
