房間挺大，就是地毯有點舊，光線也不是特別明亮， 設施：稍微老酒點，洗澡用的節能熱水閥不是很好，熱水的流量就像涓涓細流樣讓人難受☹️，周邊環境還算可以，典型的英國鄉村

這個酒店是一個老的高爾夫球場會所酒店，有歷史，美中不足得是酒店對面是一條高速公路，有的房間比較吵！這家酒店的餐廳做的東西非常好吃，遺憾的這一趟去的時候他們的晚餐沒有開，酒店的老闆娘告訴我，他們準備在五年之內在後花園建立一個孩子玩的地方！估計到時候應該會很有意思

We stayed here on a Friday evening whilst attending a nearby wedding. The hotel was more than adequate for what we needed. It was clean, spacious and quiet. Only slight criticism is that it was very warm, which impacted sleep, but I suppose that’s personal preference. It offers free parking on site. They had a lovely female receptionist working during Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, who was very friendly and helpful. We requested an early check in for 12pm, rather than 2pm due to the timing of the wedding: this was accommodated for but came at an additional £20 cost. However, this was waived when we arrived as the room was already ready for us due to them having a quiet night the night before - this was a nice added touch. They did offer continental breakfast, which we didn’t have, but any other options for breakfast/dinner etc are not available as they’re having work on their kitchen - this was a shame, as it would really make the stay more enjoyable & it isn’t stated when booking.

Had a number of rooms booked for my wedding, with less than 1 month to go they were all cancelled. I was told it was a booking error but I believe they house council tenants awaiting homes. I luckily found another local hotel willing to book in a wedding party at short notice, however it was double the price. I got no compensation from the old golf house. I now have people who cannot afford to stay over and will have to drive a significant distance after our wedding. It really has spoilt our day. Add to that my booking was cancelled with just under a month to go, however I had some friends who booked separately, who's rooms were not cancelled until 1 week before the wedding. Our new hotel was sold out and some of the local hotels were more than double the costs due to it being a late booking. So I now have a friend with a young child having to drive home after the wedding and can no longer stay for the whole evening as planned. I don't understand why it took so long to inform the other guests that their bookings were being cancelled. We could have booked everyone in at the new hotel but due to costs some decided to stay at the golf house as their rooms hadn't been cancelled initially. I guess when you have a council contract you don't really need to keep anyone else happy. As long as the council keep paying you. I am disappointed because the staff I dealt with, on 2 separate occasions when visiting the hotel, were lovely and very helpful. I know it isn't the staffs fault but it really has ruined my thoughts on this hotel. We live local and love to support local, but we will be avoiding anything to do with the golf house now and encouraging family and friends to do the same too. Myself and my wedding guests are out of pocket due to this "booking system error" and had no offer of compensation from the hotel. I just got a list of local hotels, that I was already aware of due to living locally and working in events. Some of the later cancelled guests where asked if they needed help finding somewhere new but they all knew of my other recommended hotels and their faith in this hotel was already ruined. I believe some of them did question why it took so long for their rooms to be cancelled when they knew they couldn't honour the booking 3 weeks earlier, but they never got an answer to this. Please avoid booking this hotel! It isn't what it used to be, the photo's are all old photo's, from pre covid. Also google the hotel and you will find youtube videos of people exploring it when it was closed between 2020-2022. It has only recently reopened.

A nice enough hotel but let it self down. Only one bulb out of four worked in the main light. The light hall way flashed on and off intermittently. In the bathroom, one of the window blinds was broken, there was no extractor fan and the windows were stuck down shut, and the seal at the bottom of the shower screen was brown and unclean.

We’ve just had our booking to stay next week for two days cancelled at short notice because they are over booked. No reason why they chose us, but looking at the reviews it looks like we’re not the first for this to happen too. We booked the room 6 months ago and now have a short time to arrange somewhere else to stay for our friends wedding next week. Management left reception staff to deal with all this and weren’t willing to come to the phone. On top of that I’m told they regularly have staff working 16 hour days. So poor management all around, and terrible customer service.

Had a large number of rooms booked for myself, family and friends for my wedding in less than 1 month. Now all cancelled due to "system error" but I call bulls***. I think they have a government contract so they're cancelling everyone else. Save yourself the hassle and don't book with them. I now have to find somewhere else for my guests travelling from London, Leicester, Nottingham, Scotland and Ireland! No idea what we're going to do if no local hotels will accommodate us (a lot won't if they already have a wedding booked). Funnily enough all my family who booked bia *********** haven't been cancelled, just my direct booking.

I stayed here with my two children age 4 and 2 years and we did not feel safe. The hotel housed homeless people who smoked and drunk cans of beer upon entrance and the hotel itself smelt of alcohol and ****. The WiFi was very poor and the TV did not work- again not ideal for a single mother with two very young children. Bedroom had 🪰 and the residents nextdoor to us had their music on loud at 00.15am, not great when children are trying to sleep. With all this going on I didn't even bother going downstairs for breakfast. Avoid at all costs!!!

Why is this hotel still on your website??? 18 of us had a booking, made almost a year ago, cancelled with less than 2 weeks notice and no satisfactory explanation other than the staff claiming that Kirklees Council were now in charge and had decided to cancel all existing bookings..!!!
