Hotel berhampiran OeWF Spacesuit Laboratory, Innsbruck

The Alphotel Innsbruck is probably the worst hotel we've ever stayed at! But we had no choice since we were on a tour package and this was the hotel that Gate1 chose for our itinerary. We weren't the only tour members who did not have a good stay at this hotel. Our tour group had a long day and we were scheduled to arrive late so we were all pretty tired when we arrived. Unfortunately the room we were assigned to didn't even look or feel exceptionally clean and I'm surprised I didn't take photos of the room! Comparing posted photos of the rooms on TA our room looked much older and didn't even have a real chair, but only one of those small round ottomans. And that ottoman was dirty and stained, so we didn't want to sit on that! The bedspread had that ”ick” factor, so we removed it but at least the sheets were clean. Carpet looked grungy so we made sure to wear our slippers and not walk barefoot on it. Regret not taking pictures of the room now. We've stayed at hotels with older or ”tired” decor but they were at least neat and clean, but not at this hotel! Now the ”fun” part was our bathroom door. I was getting ready to take a shower and went into the bathroom, but wanted to use my own soap and toiletries, so I went out of the bathroom and my husband (who was standing in front of the bathroom, looking at the closet or something right across from the bathroom) shut the opaque glass bathroom door. I went back to the bathroom and tried to open the door and it was locked! It was one of those simple privacy type locks where there's usually a pinhole that you can usually press and it'll pop open. Unfortunately, there was no pinhole but a screw so I tried twisting the screw but the door remained locked. Husband tried but it kept turning and he didn't have any tools so he called the front desk and they sent the maintenance guy up. The maintenance guy looked at the door and tried twisting the screw with the same results and said he needed to go get his tools. He returned with his small toolbox and tried several screwdrivers, with no luck. Then he tried using a small drill to remove the screw and still couldn't get the door unlocked. Meanwhile, we were sitting on the bed and watching tv since there was nothing else we could do. I texted our friends who were also traveling in the tour group and assigned to the room right next door to let them know what was happening. And to apologize to them for the loud racket, as the maintenance guy went and got his large power drill and was basically removing the entire door knob and panel. So the guy had to destroy the whole door knob panel because the door lock screw or nut inside the panel was probably stripped and couldn't unlock or open the door; so if I was on the other side of the door I would have been stuck in the bathroom! Our stay at Adlers Hotel was perhaps the most memorable one during our trip in Europe thus far. The location was just a short walk from the Innsbruck Main Train Station. It's conveniently located around local attracti9ns; we travelled around by tram and by foot. However, nothing bests the view from our rooms, which are facing Nordkette (Germany side). We woke up two mornings with different breathtaking views (there were cloudy mornings, with the mountains hiding behind the clouds at different heights, and the night views of the mountains were equally mesmerising. And, I must also mention that the breakfast spread was fabulous; the selection was wide. And, of course, the view from the restaurant is also fantastic, where one can Without doubt, Adlers Hotel is highly recommended.

Comfortable rooms, great service and good facilities. The bar, pool area and reception all are lovely. Just round the corner to the old town and shopping, restaurants very close by. You can walk to the funicular station for Nordkette. I was very impressed with the excellent service at reception and the bar

Room very basic but generally adequate. Plus points: God location, nice lobby area and staff were friendly. WiFi seemed ok for me. Negatives: far too warm overnight especially with the very heavy duvet which is the only bedding available, had to leave the window open even though it was -9 C outside, this meant it was very noisy. Not enough pillows, 1 very flat pillow makes for an uncomfortable night for people used to more. I kept migrating to the divot in between the two narrow single beds making up the double as the curve in the mattresses was very pronounced. Not the cleanest room. Little sound proofing inside and very noisy from adjacent rooms. Could hear the person above coughing / sneezing / walking around and even zipping their suitcase at 6am!

This hotel is just lovely. A quick short blocks from the main train station. Mario at the front desk was wonderful. He offered some nice advice on things to do and items to try at the Christmas markets. The hotel was located a quick 7-10 min walk straight down to the city center. Very easy. The room was spacious and modern. We had two double or maybe even Queen(?) beds. It was so comfortable. And the view? Wow. We did book a Mountain View room and it was worth it. The room was very reasonable either way. It snowed a bit while we were there and it was just beautiful. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Innsbruck!

This is a lovely hotel with extremely helpful staff. They helped us book reservations, with directions, and anything we asked them for, and always with a smile. The rooms are large enough, but most importantly, they are efficient. There is plenty of space in the oversized closet with drawers. There are multiple places to put luggage, a desk, and even a couple of sitting chairs and a table. We were very impressed with their breakfast. Not only did they have a lot of choices, but also many options for gluten-free diners (since I’m GF, I notice that). We were also impressed with the number of staff monitoring the dining room and replacing items as soon as they ran out. This hotel is also well-situated. Just down the street from Congress (Hofburg) and a 10-minute walk to Old Town. We highly recommend this hotel. One example of staff going out of their way for us was the night we decided to eat dinner at the hotel after being out all day and coming back dog tired. It was cold and rainy which precipitated the decision to stay in and eat in the hotel. Unfortunately we found out the hotel does not serve food on Sunday and Monday nights. Melike Y. helped us order a meal online from the equivalent of Uber Eats. Not only did she help us translate the menu and input the order, but she also called the restaurant to ensure they got the special order correct. When we went down to get our dinner the bartender, Ashok G. had plates, napkins, and silverware set out for us to use when our meal arrived. We didn't ask for any of that, he just did it on his own. Now that’s service!! As mentioned, the hotel is very well situated. Just down the street from Congress and about a 10-minute walk to Old Town. It’s right across the street from the Nordkette up to Innsbruck mountain and to the Zoo. Finally, we obviously dropped some money on the floor in our room and it went under the bed. The housekeeping staff found the money and laid it on the nightstand. We never would’ve known if we didn’t see it on the nightstand. The staff at this hotel couldn’t be nicer. We felt like they were family by the end of our stay. We highly recommend this hotel for any type of stay.

Very impressed with our stay at this hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, great restaurant, superb location right at the centre of the old town. Would definitely stay here again next time in Innsbruck.

the stay was great with the wonderful alps view. appreciate that we have gotten an upgrade making the stay very comfortable. the receptionist was nice and even gave us recommendations and transportation card. location is extremely good, near to the old town. jus to note that the bathroom is quite transparent even though there are curtains to cover. breakfast was ok. overall, the stay was comfortable and pleasant!

We originally had our main hotel stay booked in Hintertux. We were paying a lot for the hotel and after considering our long journey from Australia, we figured it may make sense to stay close to the airport at Innsbruck for our first day to get some sleep and continue our journey to Hintertux the next morning. We saved quite a bit of money making this decision and made a great choice! We walked to Penz West from the airport with four suitcases and four back packs. It was five minutes on foot and that was in thick snow! The room was way beyond our expectations for a hotel so close to the airport. It was very spacious, beautifully decorated and included breakfast that was simply magnificent. The hotel also had a wellness area including sauna, steam room, cold plunge shower and a gym. The price was extremely reasonable given all it had to offer us. The staff were very helpful and gave us some local tips about the town of Innsbruck (beautiful Christmas markets) and some mountain trips. We were too tired to do the mountain trips but enjoyed Innsbruck. We could easily have spent more time in this beautiful place and would not hesitate to book Penz West again if we are travelling this route. Mr 11 and 12 year old loved this place!
