You will fall in love with our house due to its prime location being moments away from Whitstable's main shopping street with everything you need from art galleries, stylish clothes and food shops, restaurants and bars. In addition you have the beach and harbour just a few minutes' walk away, with its boats, colourful beach huts and oyster shells. The house is an ideal choice for all generations.White Cottage was renovated extensively, converting what was a dark and cramped Victorian two-up two-down former fisherman's house in to an open plan, bright, stylish and comfortable holiday home.Making it both, the perfect summer bolt hole, being able to sit in the secluded sun drenched garden or winter getaway with a cosy log burner to take the chill off after a walk along the beach.The accommodation consists of a through lounge/dining area with wood burning stove and Sonos sound system, a galley style kitchen, guest toilet/utility room, and garden with outside dining. Upstairs on the 1st floor are the master Kingsize bedroom and a stunning marble master bathroom. The loft room has been converted to a spacious twin bedroom.PLEASE NOTE the loft room is accessed via a steep original staircase and so we do not recommend for young children or people with mobility issues.Weekly and Monthly Discounts available on the property for the longer stayFree on street Parking is available on the street, and surrounding streets. Eider Cottage is situated in the Whitstable's conservation area, a stone's throw away from the town's beach, cafés and restaurants. It boasts four bedrooms and two bathrooms over three floors, with a master bathroom with claw bath on the ground floor and an en-suite with rainforest shower on the first floor.It has been lovingly restored and is well-equipped for families, with a large well-stocked kitchen that leads out via fully retractable glass doors to the deck and sunny garden.The spaceSome notes:We're proud to say we were named one of Time Out's top 8 places to stay in Whitstable in 2022.Please note, we've decided to remove the log burner from the living room. We're very sorry if you were looking forward to it, but rest assured the house is well heated and cosy.On parties and noise: the house is situated on a quiet residential street with houses either side and the neighbours are very sensitive to noise. If you’re planning to have a party, then this isn’t the house for you. There are plenty of brilliant pubs and restaurants a short walk away.We're dog-friendly. Your furry friends are welcome.Ground floor:There is a cosy front sitting room with a large sofa and comfy armchairs. There are books along with guides to the local area so you can plan your visit. The TV is also here, and the room leads through an open plan space to the bright and glass-ended kitchen.The living room features a hi spec TV with Netflix, board games and a record turntable.The kitchen has been fully stocked for those who love to cook, providing everything you need to enjoy entertaining in the large, light space. There is a Dualit toaster, a washing machine, a large fridge freezer and cutlery for the kids if you need it. There is a fan oven, a gas range and a microwave. The large oak dining table comfortably sits eight plus the kids.There is WiFi, central heating and, for younger guests, a high chair and books and games for when you've had enough of the beach.The ground floor bathroom, a traditional feature of Whitstable's cottages, features a large claw bath with a shower along with a wash basin and WC.First floor:The large front bedroom is bright and airy, with a king size bed, a large wardrobe, two bedside cabinets and a chest of drawers.Bedroom two features a double bed, a butler-style chest of drawers / wardrobe, two bedside cabinets and has access to the en suite.The en suite features a wash basin, WC and an excellent rainforest shower for washing away the sand from day at the seaside.Second floor:Eider cottage is flooded with light thanks to its most remarkable feature – a large atrium space that extends between the upper two floors of the building, exposing the Victorian brickwork of the chimney shaft.From the top landing, which has a shelf full of books and magazines, upper bedroom one enjoys views over the rooftops of Whitstable and has a comfortable double bed along with bedside tables and a chest of drawers.The twin room has two full size single beds, plus a bedside table and a chest of drawers for clothes. This room is perfect for children – it has baskets full of toys and a great collection of kids' books.Other things to noteDogs are welcome! We do ask that you please keep them off the furniture and ensure they don’t defecate in the garden. Seaside Cottage is a two minute stroll from Whitstable beach and five minutes from the pretty high street. It has an airy open plan layout downstairs. Upstairs there is a front double bedroom and two back bedrooms with two single beds. Toilet/bathroom are downstairs.The property has a large fenced-in dog-friendly garden and patio area for outdoor dining and is also only a few minutes walk to the main high street full of shops, restaurants and bars.There are steps down to the cottage and the stairs inside are steep so we do not take bookings for children under six.We are happy to have well-behaved pets - the beach in front of the cottage is dog-friendly throughout the year. The front door leads into a hallway and it will lead you to the bedroom and bathroom one way and the other end of the hall you will find the lounge, dining area and kitchen.The bedroom is at the front of the property with a double bed. We have a travel cot on request.The bathroom has a shower over the bath and toilet plus sink.The lounge/dining area has a table that seat 4 and a sofa bed in the lounge.The kitchen is a fully working kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and washing machine.There is a fenced in garden area that has outdoor seating, this is accessed through the front door.The guests have access to this lovely 1 bedroom ground floor apartment with outdoor space.Other things to note that this property is part of another property, this is an annexe and has it's own private entrance. Both properties can be booked at the same time for larger groups. We have an integral door joining the two properties. There is a dining area at the end of the kitchen which has doors that leads out to the garden. The garden has an outdoors table and chairs for alfresco dining.The staircase does not have any stair gates and does not have a banister so please be warned if travelling with very young children, please see the pictures.Upstairs has two bedroom.
