"Recently stayed at JR Kyushu Hotel Kagoshima and really enjoyed the stay. The location is unbeatable, it is directly connected to Kagoshima-Chuo Station, with an entrance right after exiting the Shinkansen or local train gates.
The room was surprisingly spacious. We could open two large suitcases, one medium, and two cabin bags at the same time and still have space to move around comfortably, which is quite rare for hotels in Japan.
The hotel is also next to AMU Plaza Kagoshima, so there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.
Overall, a very convenient hotel and a great choice for travelers visiting Kagoshima."

"It was a wonderful stay. The hotel management was excellent, and the room was in great condition. I want to give a special mention to Miss Gotanda 五反田, who guided me after check-in. Her detailed explanations and warm smile set a positive tone even before I checked in. The hotel's hot spring overlooks Sakurajima volcano, enjoy hot spring while watching the sunrise was a truly delightful experience. I will definitely come back again next time."

"We had an amazing stay at this hotel and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The value for money is outstanding—everything you get here easily exceeds the price. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and very pleasant to stay in, making it a great place to relax after a long day.
The service was exceptional. The staff were always willing to help with anything we needed, no matter what it was, and they were consistently super kind, polite, and welcoming. You can really feel that they care about the guests.
The location is perfect, with a bus stop right outside the hotel, making it very easy to get anywhere in the city quickly and efficiently.

"Art Hotel Kagoshima offers a very positive stay overall, largely thanks to its outstanding staff, who consistently went out of their way to assist and make guests feel welcome. I strongly recommend requesting a room with a view of Sakurajima—one of Japan’s most active volcanoes—as waking up to this dramatic landscape is truly priceless. The hotel’s location is also very convenient, with easy access to nearby bus routes. "I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel and felt so comfortable that I stayed more in my room than visiting the city ! At my checkin the receptionist saw I am a cyclist and he immediately suggested that I leave my bike in the luggage area, without having to request, which is exceptional when you travel by bicycle. The room is a good size clean and you can choose a room with a magnificent view of Sakurajima
Cleaning is done every two days but you can leave a sticker on your door and they will clean if you wish on off days
The bathroom is the biggest I have seen in Japan very modern and nice to use
Staff are very friendly and helpful. If I would visit Kagoshima again I would like to stay here"

DDon AWe struck gold with this one. Amazing location, right by the main bus station and very near the Chuo train station. Super clean, comfortable and it has luggage storage that can be used for free for gusts who come too early or have extra time to explore after checking out.

EEleonora Del BianchiThis place seemed great at first sight, the room and the bathtub are spacious (mine was a double room and I was solo). There's blue light at the lift that creates an ambiance. But the onsen is really poorly organized - it's one pool with nowhere to rest your head and relax - the mist sauna was not available. And I felt very upset that they have welcome drinks on the 13 floor and nobody told me anything... I've learned because I was checking until what time the onsen was open at the paper they give at check in and saw the small info. When I went upstairs was already more than 6 ( it's only until 6) and the guy told me it was not available anymore and I should go downstairs. But I could see there were some other teas that were not downstairs... In fact I had one in my hand and he made me return it. I went downstairs to complain and the woman at reception went up and brought me one tea already prepared, because it needs a special machine... But I wanted to have one for me and not only one already prepared ..(i actually threw it away 🥺 after talking to that rude man I would not take a tea that he prepared and I didn't see)
In general this was very unprofessional that information was not given, the man saying I could not take anything, and her taking a long time to return with a prepared tea that I didn't want at that moment. Breakfast was good, could have hot chocolate instead of coffee..

KKsenia KrylovaПри заселении оказалось, что есть нестыковка между номера на Трип.ком и реальным номерным фондом. И как результат забронированный нами номер занят. В качестве замены нам предложили 2 варианта: площадью в 2 раза меньше (20 кв.м. вместо 40), зато с сауной в номере (нам такое не интересно), либо такой же площади, как изначально бронировали (40 кв.м.), но с 4 кроватями вместо нашей одной. Убедившись, что в нем окна тоже выходят на Сакурадзиму, мы выбрали его.
На втором этаже 2 полутораспальные кровати, на первом 2 двуспальные. Матрасы и подушки комфортные, в меру жёсткие.
На мини-кухне чайник, холодильник, плита, раковина, дрип-пакеты с кофе, сахар, кружки, тарелки, столовые приборы, даже сковорода.
В ванной комнате есть шампунь, кондиционер, гель для душа, мыло, фен.
Каждый день приносят чистые полотенца, забирают грязные и мусор (если их оставить на полу в прихожей), выдают новые мусорные пакеты.
Возле ресепшна есть комод, в котором можно взять бритву, расческу, мочалку, ватные палочки, бумажные салфетки, маску для сна, беруши, зубную щётку и пасту.
Уборка в номере предусмотрена при проживании более 4 дней, т.е. за 6 дней у нас убрались 1 раз.
Вход в номер по qr-коду, который дают сфотографировать при заселении, он же позволяет пользоваться лифтом. Он же нужен для самостоятельного чекаута. Для удобства мы добавили код в понижение для разных скидочные карт.
Минусы есть, но не критичные: автоматический свет в туалете: когда ночью встаёшь, он бьёт в глаза. Слишком теплые одеяла. В пятницу и субботу вечером в парке Тенмонкан, на который выходят окна номера, было очень шумно. Возможно это было связано с празднованием Хэллоуина (в остальные дни было тихо).
В целом гостиница классная, новая, современная, однозначно стоит своих денег. С удовольствием вернёмся ещё.

The check-in area is well designed and comfortable. However, there is a smoking area on the same floor, which might be a concern for some guests.

PPengguna TetamuIt’s only a 6-minute walk from Kagoshimachuo Station! I stayed in the Tatami Room which can be relatively small for people with big luggages. Like other hostels, the toilets, shower rooms, and common space are shared among the floor. However, I do find the shower area a little small. Many of us wouldn’t enter the shower area if somebody was using the sink because the sink was right in front of one shower cubicle HAHAHA. And yes, there’s only one sink in the common shower area.
I would recommend this place if you are doing a short stay in Kagoshima because there’s lots of shops and restaurants around the area! By the way, it’s located along the same lane as the famous “tonkatsu kawakyu とんかつ川久”. Please try it because it’s the best tonkatsu I’ve ever eaten!
