"We checked in late at night and immediately noticed a noise in the room, similar to an electrical humming sound. As I am sensitive to noise, I soon developed a headache. I contacted the front desk, and although two staff members came to check, they said they could not hear anything and only offered soft earplugs. I also sent an email for help but never received a reply.
The next day, I spoke to the front desk again, and the daytime staff kindly moved us to a higher floor. The noise was still there, though slightly less noticeable. Interestingly, it even stopped for a short while around 7 a.m. Unfortunately, the poor rest affected both my trip experience and my mood."

"The hotel’s location is superb, right by the Oslo S train station and by the main shopping district and main sights.
Hotel itself seems rather old. The bathroom especially felt like something out of the 1980s. It was small and water pressure was weak. Also there was no bath mat provided, nor any tissue paper, and no amenities like toothpaste toothbrush or shower cap.
As we had paid for a larger room, our room was spacious. But it was noisy from people shouting in the street below even at late hours. Also the hotel did not turn on its central heating nor air conditioning. So the room felt stuffy and you would have to open a window.
What saves the hotel is the excellent service. Staff were accommodating on requests we made, including for a takeaway breakfast box on our last day as we were taking an early train."

"The hotel is close to the Royal Palace and not far where the airport train stops. So, it’s easy to reach anything in the city. The room is not bad, small bathroom. I was surprised the hotel doesn’t provide bath floor towels for when you step out of shower. Also only one roll of toilet paper. You need to scan QR code in order to book cleaning for next day. The breakfast buffet not bad, and it’s surprising to see avocados. Also need to mention, if you want to sleep early you might be bothered by tram outside the hotel, the whole hotel is shaking when it passes by. But they stop around 11 pm. The staff were polite and nice."

"Hotel was well located and easy to get to. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, although a little small, which is not usually a problem, however the layout of the room meant slightly squeezing past the base of the bed to get to the other side of the bed/room, which felt awkward. The shower was incredible. Hot and powerful with an amazing showerhead. No kettle, which I find baffling though. Rather than buying coffees there, I just went and bought a kettle, which when stuffed with pants barely took up any extra room in my carry on bag, and a cafetiere (returned the cafetiere for a full refund at the end of the trip 😅). Well priced and would probably stay again, but the lack of kettle is an issue."

"Truly appreciate the option for early check in at a small fee, especially after taking a night train and arriving in Oslo way too early for the day. Hotel is perfectly located beside the central train station, and it only takes 5min to walk to and fro each other, via the connected mall. That definitely helps when Storm Amy hit. The room was clean and quiet, with basic amenities. Breakfast was alright - it did definitely get too crowded late in the morning. Overall, would highly recommend."

PPengguna TetamuLocation is convenient, about 10 mins walk from Oslo S. although it is in the direction nearer to the office buildings and away from the attractions.
Breakfast spread is amazing and tastes good. Room and bathroom are spacious, bed is soft and comfortable.
The only drawback is the amenities. There is no toothbrush provided, and I find the shampoo, conditioner, and hand wash a little too mild / diluted, would have preferred it to be thicker and foamier. Body soap is ok.

MmangosellerStayed at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Oslo and overall had a pleasant experience. The staff were nice and friendly, especially the lady at the concierge. When we mentioned it was our first visit to Oslo, she was very eager to share recommendations on what to see and do, which was truly helpful and appreciated.
However, there is ongoing construction right beside the hotel, and if your room is assigned on that side, the noise and dust can be quite disruptive. Another downside was the minibar policy — we were surprised to be charged extra just to have the minibar emptied. While I understand this may be due to the infrared sensor system, it was still disappointing, especially as we had bought sashimi and wanted to chill it for supper, which slightly ruined our plans for the evening.
Overall, the hotel has great staff and a good location, but the construction noise and minibar policy affected our experience. Still a decent stay, but something future guests should be aware of.

Walking distance to Munch Museum, Bjorvika broadwalk all the way to Akershus Fortress and Castle. Breakfast was GOOD. Same stuff everyday but variety enough to try different things for 3 days.

There are restaurants just downstairs or nearby. The room is large enough and well-equipped, with a washing machine, a big drying rack, a microwave and all utensils. There is a public room for (self-service, super convenient, pretty large space) luggage storage facilities and all the necessites (tea packs, towels, linens, and ear plugs etc., though it is quiet at night) Everything is done on app, including check-in/out and opening the doors.
However, the door-opening function in the app doesn't work sometimes so you have to use code instead (there's no reception). Also, you have to go through some stairs at entrance and a winding passage to reach your room. The room is a little bit dark at night (even with all the lights on) for reading and writing. The TV is located in a weird position.

KKinniFrom the hotel it's easy to walk to some of the main tourist attractions and main streets with many supermarkets and convenience stores around. Our twin room was a little small and didn't have a kettle or fridge, otherwise it was nice and quiet and I slept very well. (A kettle and fridge plus microwave and laundry facilities were available in a shared/public space in the hotel)

SShauna McFaulFor our stay, we booked a studio apartment at The Sweet. The room was lovely and kitchenette was well-equipped. We were able to cook meals there over the days of Christmas when most restaurants and shops were closed. The location is a little outside of the center- nice and quiet but easy to access public transit.
My biggest issue with this hotel was that communication was very… odd. As the booking notes, I called the hotel in advance to schedule my check-in. When my call was answered, I told them who I was and that I was calling to schedule my check in (for a time when the booking said check in is available). I was told no one would be at reception at that time (3pm on Dec 23) and they would text me instructions for how to check myself in. Then she confirmed my phone number and asked for my email address, but when I started to give it, she said, “oh, that’s ok. We can’t use email anyway”. Odd. Before getting off the phone, I had her confirm that I would receive a text the next day with instructions to check in.
Our train arrived around 2pm in Oslo and we still hadn’t received a text, so we waited at the train station thinking perhaps they would send the text right at 3pm since that was the time I had requested. At 3, I still hadn’t received anything, so we called the hotel again. A different employee answered from the one I had spoken to the day before. I gave my name and explained that I was calling because I had scheduled check in the day before but hadn’t received the information to check in. The employee asked where I was and told me that there were people staffing reception to help us check in, which I thought was odd because the previous employee told me no one would be there. When we got to the hotel, we rang the bell and got into the building, but reception is apparently in the basement- there is only a very tiny sign that says this- so we missed it and I called them again. A man came up with our keys and got us set to go.
We got into our room and it was lovely! About 5 hours later, I got a call from Trip saying that the hotel is trying to contact me because they are wondering why I hadn’t checked in and they don’t have a way to get in touch with me. I was sitting in the hotel room when I got this call. I told the Trip representative that I was checked in and it was fine for her to give my phone and email to the hotel.
I know the communication elements have taken up a huge portion of my review and I know they are not the end of the world, but I want to share them because I believe it would be quite simple to avoid situations like this in the future and make the guest experience that much more pleasant at The Sweet.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at the hotel overall and thoroughly enjoyed exploring Oslo!

PPengguna TetamuTruly one of the best hotel stays I have ever experienced. The hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure we were well accommodated and comfortable throughout. When we arrived at the hotel it was 11AM, so I mentioned to the front desk staff that I know it was far too early for us to receive our room (check in is typically at 3PM) and that we would like to simply drop off our bags. Without any special requests, the front desk staff immediately prepared our room keys of us to check in right away, which was hugely appreciated since we had caught a very early morning flight in. We loved the room. It was very comfortable for the 3 of us, although a bit tight but that's what we expected for hotel rooms in Europe. The bathroom was well fitted and had all the basic toiletries required (shampoo, body wash, hand soap), however we hoped to have body lotion as well, so we asked housekeeping whether any was available and they immediately brought 3 LARGE bottles for each of us to use. I have never seen such massive toiletries and in such generous quantities supplied at any hotel before, which again made us feel very well taken care of. Finally on our check out day our flight was not until 6PM and since checkout is typically at 11AM I requested for just a 1 hr extension. Although they were very busy for it being the beginning of summer holidays, without any hesitation the front desk staff extended our checkout time to 3PM. I was once again very pleasantly surprised and appreciative. My last note is to touch on the complimentary tea and coffee always available in the lobby, as well as the fabulous buffet breakfast they served. Cannot recommend this hotel enough!
