Spent 1 night at The Strathburn Hotel recently and thankfully our time spent in the hotel was short as we were attending a wedding in the area. We were extremely disappointed and underwhelmed especially after having checked the ratings on trip advisor before booking! Very tired and outdated hotel which is certainly by no means 4* as it claims to be. Our room was very small, dark and dingy with nowhere to rest a small case apart from on the floor. The wardrobe was an inset in the wall. We were met by an odour each time in entering the room which we think came from the shower curtain. The shower hose was bare in part and needed replaced. Something which could be cheaply and easily done. One of the glasses in the bathroom was not clean and the linen in general needed an upgrade. Very annoyingly a friend had booked a single room at a considerable amount less than we paid for our double and was given a much bigger room with both a double and a single bed! Clearly no thought process into allocating rooms whatsoever. I queried this when departing and told someone would call me next day with an explanation but of course I have not heard back. Evening meal was pretty average although breakfast was ok. We will not be returning and would definitely not recommend if looking for somewhere in that area.

Very nice hotel with a great welcome and friendly staff you meet from waitresses to cleaning ladies Room very good Spotless Bathroom Lots of Teas and Coffees Great TV Great WiFi Breakfast is first class I had great Pots of Tea and white bread toast Bacon ,Sausage etc top class along with great selection of cereals ,fruit juices ,fruit Evening meal was very good first night I had Steak Pie so much I had a job to finish it following night I had Gammon Steak again very good The ladies come and check to ensure your breakfast is fine and also your evening meal all done with a smile There’s plenty of car parking and a very nice lounge and bar too

stayed for four nights while visiting family. Clean and tidy friendly staff, on the bus route to Aberdeen not a bad walk into town about 1 mile only did it one way and got a taxi back £4.50. Not sure about the food as we were meeting family each night so ate out. Looked like good access for wheelchairs. would recommend for a good reasonably priced break.

The service was excellent. Plenty of parking. Receptionists were friendly and efficient. Room was very clean as was bathroom. Room had a skylight which was quirky but gave plenty of light into the room. Tea and coffee facilities were aplenty.

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms are nothing like the pictures on website. Reception staff were ok but definitely not a 4* hotel or service. Lady serving dinner was rude and dismissive with all guests. No customer service at all. Long waits for average food,gave up waiting for dessert. Hotel dated and old. Rooms smell old and bed linen more yellow than white. Stayed for five nights due to work but will never stay again and will not be recommending to anyone. If I could score 0 stars or less I would have.

My family attended here and were very, very disappointed. With only 1 other table occupied the food took quite sometime to arrive! Steaks were poor along with chips that were not fresh, possible reheated. My partners risotto dish was definitely not cooked from scratch, more of out of a packet from Weatherspoons. Terrible experience at £28 per steak!

After travelling for 2.5 hours my mum and I arrived and got our rooms as agreed, both rooms newly refurbished with walk in shower, got into my room and bed was disgusting clearly NOT been changed duvet was yucky . My mum is terminally ill and this was a family gathering for the weekend, receptionist came and looked at room and agreed it was not nice and gave me new one away from my mum and with a BATH ! I’m disabled and couldn’t shower till I got home . My mum paid £700 for 2 rooms we feel cheated !!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place to stay definitely 100% NOT !!!! PICS OF MOULD IN MY NEW ROOM WHICH AFFECTED MY ASTHMA

The hotel needs money spending on it to renew all the decorations and the carpets - it is in poor condition. We had to change rooms in the evening as the sheet on the bed was dirty and had hair on it, although we were informed it had been cleaned. Alternative room carpet was a disgrace, covered in stains! Breakfast at £15 each was very poor. Table service but only one of each item allowed. Rooms were not as glamorous as the photos on the web-site. We will not be returning there.
