Hotel Floridiana Terme

I was visiting cousins in Ischia and this was my third visit to the island. The staff in the restaurant was super sweet. The breakfast and dinner were both tasty. The room was cleaned each day. The front desk staff was helpful until they told me I had to pay for several items in cash such as the massages, the overpriced laundry, a visit from their on site doctor when I was ill, and the taxi drivers, that claimed they did not accept cards. I said my bank does not allow me to take out more than a small amount per day and they insisted I go to my ATM every day until I had the cash they demanded. Upon checkout at 5am, they were insisting that I pay for the items in cash and I told them never in my life has a hotel requested this and I wanted to charge everything on my card. This, by the way, is the law in Italy. Businesses must accept credit cards!! To avoid missing my taxi to the port at 5am, I paid them for the items in cash. My Taxi driver was paid by my uncle in Ischia who was worried I would be taken advantage of by the many taxi driver crooks who claim they don't take cards and then overcharge in cash. This hotel disappointed me because I feel they were contributing to the dishonesty of some Italians towards tourists. The room was average without any toiletries, only local channels on a tiny TV available, and the pool forced us to wear swim caps like we were out of a 60s film. Water bottles were 4 euros each and they would not offer us tap water anywhere except from our bathroom sink. The hotel itself is a maze. In short, it's a hotel if you want a modest stay in a hotel for an older population, close to the port. And beware...Refuse to pay for anything in cash. Again, they were breaking the law as do many taxi drivers and business owners do in Italy!

The hotel is basic but clean. The food is very good and the waiters are lovely. Location is perfect, right in the middle of the main thoroughfare. The thermal spa's are good. My only gripe, and it is a big one, is that although it was very hot, the hotel did not want to put the air conditioning on. At first they said it was broken and then we were told that they don't put it on until 15th June. When they did eventually put it on, it was turned off at midnight, meaning that the room was very hot and difficult to sleep in by 12.30. We were provided with a fan, but it's not the same as air conditioning.

Premetto che sono stata ad ischia tante volte..in diversi hotel 4 stelle Da tempo desideravo fare un weekend lungo con il mio compagno e le nostre mamme ottantenni e soggiornare in questo hotel.. data la posizione in pieno centro. Non ci è stato possibile trascorre molto tempo in hotel .le mie aspettative sono state deluse 1. Piscine con acqua appena tiepida ..pertanto abbiamo fatto un solo bagno molto veloce. . La piscina interna piccola..senza lettini per rilassarsi ..quella esterna con tanta vegetazione ma rimaneva piuttosto buia..forse bella in piena estate.. 2. Hall essenziale con divanetti e tavolinetti... 3.il bar era al piano inferiore..in realtà un piccolo bancone su un corridoio vicino il ristorante...e le ascensori Nn un posto dove potersi rilassare a degustare qualcosa 4.ristorante: si poteva scegliere tra diverse portate..ma la qualità nn era il max..meglio sicuramente la colazione 5.stanze..le 2 al piano terra con bagni piccolissimi , e balcone in comune con le altre camere...c erano della piante come separé La nostra al primo piano...aveva un balconcino con un muro alto pertanto nn si vedeva cosa c era fuori Insomma...da un quattro stelle ci saremmo aspettati molto di più...pertanto abbiamo trascorso in hotel il tempo minimo necessario e cercato lo svago al di fuori..fortunatamente avevamo la macchina! Sinceramente nn ci tornerei..allo stessi prezzo ci sono strutture di livello molto molto più alto..dove potersi rilassare e divertire !
