Beach awesome, staff awesome. Room ok. Only one restaurant and a buffet. Restaurant one night served a brisket that tasted like a rubber ball. Buffet was ok, ended up eating in town quite a bit.
Overall good stay, but probably one and done.

I love playa Norte! I had been there several times in different hotels in the area. The kings pool was very cool and the access to the beach is combined. The negative side will be just that the basic rooms are very small and not well maintained, it’s time for remodeling. Now I can’t talk about the bungalows becase I was not stay in there. The staff always very polite.

The beach is absolute perfection. The location does not get better than Mia Reef. The staff is friendly helpful. The food is okay. Mostly the same items daily. Omelettes in the morning are delicious! The potato gratin at las Maria’s were incredible! Fantastic bar with plenty of drink options. The mango margarita was a favorite! We will definitely be back!

The staff is the BEST! Always there with a smile and helping hand. Everyone from the cleaning staff, the desk cleeks, restaurant servers, bartenders to the concierge staff is top notch.

Beautifully located! Needs to be kept up, it’s a bit run down.
The staff was great, the resort is set up nicely. Good for the buck, for all inclusive.

The Good: Very good buffet open most of the day; excellent soups, Mexican style foods, lots of salads, fruit, desserts. Great beach, probably the best around. If you’re a beach fan this is a great place. Lots of free beach chairs. Bikes and other beach lounging available. Nice pool with swim up bar. Very friendly and helpful staff. Coffee and snack bar always open; minibar complimentary. Free parking in front of hotel. Apparently very crime free area. Many touristy shops within walking distance of the hotel.
The Other: A/C units easy to control but somewhat noisy; only one English language news channel (Bloomberg). To refill minibar requires request to front desk. Only one bar; limited wine selection. Only one restaurant; somewhat limited menu; requires reservation day ahead. They ask you to sit through a 2 hour sales pitch for their ‘membership’, which is a plan to pay cash upfront for discounted future visits and extra perks. If you plan to visit often this may be beneficial. Even if you don’t buy, they give you some options for a freebee. They encourage taking the passenger ferry from Cancun and a taxi to the hotel. Golf carts can be rented for $100 per day. Another option is a rental car transported on a cargo ferry for $80 roundtrip.

All the workers were nice. Food was good. Grounds were kept up nice. House keeping daily was nice. Easy check in and out. Bedding was great. Rooms are a bit dated.
