My husband and I just stayed four nights in the corner suite. The room was spacious with a great view. I think a hotel of this level should provide guests with complimentary water. It was strange, at times you are brought bottle water and charged and sometimes you are served in a large glass carafe, unclear if that is just tap. Food: the food overall was very tasty. I do think with offering the same lunch/dinner combined menu, that they do not more options or more specials. Service from the bartenders was fantastic. Service from the waitstaff was inconsistent, waiting for an appetizer for 45 minutes or sitting at the table for 25 minutes without any service. The white fish across the options is always the same local fish, it is tasty, but gets repetitive. Breakfast is tasty but the same every day, this was getting old by the fourth morning, more options needed especially given it’s the one piece they are “including” with your stay. Location and the main con associated with our stay: Emails with Paulo prior to our trip involved discussing logistics. He encouraged us to fly into IOS and said it was a 20 minute car ride. We based a lot of our plans on this including flight times and meal timing. Once we were in the car we then realized we were over an hour from the property. You would think a hotel at this level would be very apologetic of this error. When we arrived starving the host suggested he was making it right, welcomed us to the restaurant. A hotel at this level would provide either drinks on the house at the very least or have lunch waiting considering I emailed from the car. I also asked to discuss with the manager who has been unresponsive. I find this to be poor service and low class. Town is walkable and very quaint. Boat trip to the islands: I would recommend this trip. I have done similar excursions at other places that felt more touristy, this did not. My only feedback would be that the Paulo should provide a checklist the day prior where a guest can indicate what they would like on the boat such as selecting a snack, beverage etc. they just automatically provide soda, water, beer and a small bag of cashews. Massage: fantastic Overall, pleasant and great stay. I would recommend the manager rethinks how to treat guests when communication from his staff is incorrect, or himself. It was unclear if Paulo was also the a manger or just handled the excursion.
