This was a Mother’s Day gift from my daughters. It started amazing with the SPA but ended horribly with the hotel. My daughters purchased a gift card from The Westin’s site. When I checked in they couldn’t use it because only one manager had access to apply gift cards. They wanted to hold the entire amount on my card and I said no. It wasn’t my fault they couldn’t figure out their systems. They resolved at holding $100. Once the night manager got in she called me to say the number on the card wasn’t working. I stopped by the front desk and she said she was still working on it. I was at the bar, instead of asking me to step to the desk, she, in front of everyone, said your gift card says it’s only for the spa, you would need to pay the rest. A bit unsettling as to why this conversation is being had in front of everyone, I just nodded ok. She later said I will have the spa take theirs off the gift card and charge you the rest. I woke up to the entire amount being charged to my card and nothing to the gift card. I had plans to finish the day with a pedicure, workout, swim and brunch before checking out. Needless to say none of that happened. I was too frustrated to enjoy THE GIFT that was purchased for me. I called Marriott and they issued me a lousy 2500 points. It cost 70000 points for one night’s stay at this location. They issued 2500!!! My time that started great ended horribly. You all should train everyone to do everything. If you trust them to work there trust them to do all of the things. I have no plans on staying at another Marriott location unless they make this right.
