The hotel is located in the middle of a 1960s high-density East-German-style housing district with a very 1990s-architecture, room furniture style reminiscent of a 1980s American Marriott (kind of faux-elegant), and movie decorations and photos from 1940s Hollywood with Bogart et al. (why, you may ask, Hollywood in Jena? Zeiss cine lenses?). In addition to being unspecifically dated, the hotel could also simply use a fresh coat of paint ... but: everything was clean, the personnel was super-friendly and helpful, the breakfast was plentiful and started at 6:00 (very accommodating for early risers!), the shower was nice and hot, and I had a very, very good-night sleep. The hotel is also close to a tram stop, supermarket, pharmacy, etc. In addition, we had a conference dinner there, which was a good-quality buffet with a variety of options, including vegetarian ones. Overall, a very good stay.

Am besten ist das Essen mit tollem Frühstück mit Thüringer Wurstspezialitäte, Lachs, Wiener Würstchen, Bratwürstchen, Rührei, Spiegeleier und gekochten Eiern. Ausgiebigem Mittagstisch welches wir wegen des umfangreichen Frühstücks gar nicht essen konnten. Abends immer zwei Sorten Fleisch und Fisch, auch viel Salat und Aufschnitt mit Brot, viel Nachtisch. This hotel is really somewhere special. From the minute we arrived to leaving we experienced extremely professional, friendly service. The lovely young lady at reception, the smiling, friendly bar man and the lady at breakfast were especially kind and helpful. I wish I had taken note of their names. The hotel itself is really beautiful, wonderfully maintained, and located on scenic Marktplatz in the heart of Weimar. Our brief visit was so memorable and we can't wait to return some day. Ill firever remember a wonderful breakfast on their outdoor terrace! Treat yourselves and stay there.

Ich hatte ein sehr ruhiges großes Zimmer mit einer bodengleichen Regendusche. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist ein Traum. Es gab losen Tee, das kannte ich gar nicht, Hafermilch und sowieso alles, was man sich nur vorstellen kann.

Location, lovely restaurant and great staff I booked because it’s right opposite the train station ….. but this hotel is so much more. Often ‘right opposite the train station’ means you are sacrificing something in terms of appearance and slight seediness for the convenience - but not here ! It’s a lovely old hotel (with a nice history), restored several times over the years, with a particularly impressive glass-surrounded restaurant for all meals. Location - as well as being on a pretty square right in front of the train station it’s less than 10 minutes’ easy straight line walk from the museums and the historic old town. There are plenty of nicely located hotels in the centre too by the way - just not as good for train access. The hotel restaurant is a real delight. Go for the breakfast buffet with some of the best prepared hotel bacon I have ever come across - crispy, fat-free and warm - plus all the usual egg, cereal, fruit salad and bread options. Standard coffee good German filter not espresso (though that’s available at the bar); orange juice average. Supper was freshly cooked smallish choice (these do go hand in hand, of course) - have a look at the menu in advance and if there’s something you like the look of eat here, quality is excellent. Staff very friendly; rooms moderate size, very clean, toiletries provided (shower gel and shampoo, no lotion or conditioner). Large non-leaky showers. You can claim a free snack if you forego your room servicing (!) ….. Rooms are non-smoking but they provide a smokers’ lounge for *******. To be recommended.

Ich habe am 7.4.23 15.00 Uhr im Hotel online eingecheckt. Nachdem ich mein Zimmer betreten habe,musste ich feststellen,das dieses nicht besonders gereinigt wurde. Im Bad und auch der Teppichboden, Zahnputzbecher fehlten. Ich habe mir an der Rezeption welche geben lassen und wegen der Reinigung berichtet, sie sagte morgen Früh wird es dann gereinigt. Die Schwachstellen Toilette, Bad und Teppichboden war jedoch auch nicht so besonders gereinigt. Der Rollenhalter muss schon ewig nicht geputzt worden sein. Dreck auch immer noch an der Verschraubung des Toilettendeckels. Am 9.4. 23 wurde mein Zimmer garnicht gereinigt und die Betten nicht gemacht. Handtücher wurden auch nicht gewechselt. Aufhänger fehlten an den Hand und Badetuch. Würde ich so nicht hinlegen. Zahnputzbecher fehlten wieder. Ich holte mir dann einen Tee am Automaten und nahm diesen Becher,da die Rezeption nicht anwesend war,obwohl bis 20.00 da stand. Vielleicht wäre auch ein Schuhanzieher angebracht. Das Frühstücksangebot war reichlich und sehr gut,es fehlt an nichts. Für jeden Gast etwas dabei. Der Frühstücksraum ist sehr klein gehalten, ich kenne andere B&B Hotels welche mehr Raum bieten und man sich auch mal außerhalb der Frühstückszeiten aufhalten kann.

SStefan BalsterDas Hotel liegt super zentral und ist sehr modern ausgestattet. Wir hatten ein Deluxe Zimmer im Steigenberger. Das zu nah selber ist großzügig und entspricht somit den besagten 4 Sternen. Das Zimmer hatte eine Badewanne was heutzutage nicht unbedingt mehr Standard ist. Den Frühstücksservice kann ich nicht beurteilen, da dieser aus meiner Sicht deutlich zu teuer ist. Einziger Kritikpunkt ist die nicht wirklich funktionierende Klimaanlage. Diese war den sommerlichen Temperaturen nicht wirklich gewachsen.
Was mir bei fast jedem Hotel auffällt, ist eine fehlende Uhr im Zimmer. Ein weiterer negativer Punkt aus meiner Sicht, sind die doch relativ teuren Gebühren für die Tiefgarage. Da könnte man sicher eine kundenfreundlichere und günstigere Methode anbieten. Im großen und ganzen ist dieses Hotel aber zu empfehlen.

PPengguna TetamuIt was my first time in the hotel, the staff is very welcoming and extremely friendly. Started with the check-in, very accommodating and helpful, restaurant staff was very helpful and even gave recommendations for little bars within Jena. Food was typical regional food and extremely tasty - regards to the chef. Meeting rooms are big and lunch is available as well. Rooms are practical but very quiet. Internet connection has not been an issue even on the 2nd floor. You can walk into the city center and train station Jena Paradies is very close by. Big parking space opposite side of the hotel. Can´t wait to come back !

PPengguna TetamuDas Hotel ist re hat zentral gelegen zumindest ist man schnell im Stadtzentrum. Die Zimmer sind mit dem Notwendigsten ausgestattet. Leider hört man den nahen Zug recht gut. Frühstück war in unserem Zimmerpreis nicht inkludiert; € 8,- bzw. € 4,- für Kinder. Das Hotel hat einen eigenen, kostenlosen Parkplatz. Empfehlenswert ab dem zweiten Stock, da im Erdgeschoss vom Parkplatz direkt ins Zimmer gesehen werden kann.
