From booking to departure, my experience with Kalyves was nothing short of five stars. When it came to online booking, the experience was easy and questions sent to reservations via email were expeditiously and professionaly dealt with. Special mention to Penelope for her patience, care and detailed information when it came to my questions concerning the hotel. Checking in and getting my room was very smooth. I got exactly what I asked for room wise and thensome when I was upgraded. There was a slight hiccup with the lights on the left bedside but that was cleared up quickly by the maintenance staff. The reception/front desk staff are very attentive, informative, patient, caring and truly go above and beyond to make your stay truly lovely. Special mention to Stamatina and Angeliki as well as the two other ladies and gentleman at front desk/reception. I must say these persons truly blew me away with their stellar performance. The room was clean, modern, and had the amenities needed for a proper holiday. The housekeeping staff I encountered were delightful. They were friendly, had warm smiles and were helpful. A mother daughter duo whose combined good energy made my day. They made my room feel brand new every time they came to do their duties. The food everyday for all meals was enjoyable, fresh, tasty and was locally sourced which is something I deeply commend. Special mention to Executive Chef Periklis Pagonidis and his team of chefs for creating and making some of the best food I have ever had. Especially the pork dishes. The wait staff were also courteous, friendly, hardworking, efficient and very attentive. Special mention to Hercules. Truly a gem of a waiter. The guest relations manager continued the theme of good vibes and excellent service. Shout out to Momo for making me feel at home. Lefteris also followed in the footsteps of good vibes and excellent service. These two gentlemen exude hospitality and positive energy. The pool facilities were well maintained, clean, well laid out and enjoyable. I used the outdoor and indoor pools. The lounge chairs were clean and made it easy to relax in the sun. The same could be said for the lounge chairs on the beach. I must say that the lifeguard Valentina was very pleasant, attentive to her job, easily approachable, and demonstrated thorough knowledge when it came to interacting with the pools and the sea. I felt safe knowing that she was on duty when I was either in the sea or in the pool. The bar was well stocked and the bartenders were friendly, knowledgable, and were easy to talk to. I must say that Kostas, Richard and Vangelis made every effort to provide me and other guests with excellent drinks and friendly, welcoming service. The ouzo and water was my favorite. The Cretan beer and wine on tap paired well with the cool sea breeze and a lively chat with these fine gentlemen. Lastly, the spa experience was nothing short of an out of this world experience.  Dina the massage therapis
