We had a wonderful stay last weekend at Schoon Huis Manor. Dominique was an absolute delight to deal with during the booking process, she also helped us with a dinner reservation and airport transfer bookings. Ryan was our host and a great one at that. We had early starts and late nights and he was always there to great us on arrival and departure. We found all staff to be friendly and efficient. The guesthouse itself is very unique, it's so exciting looking around each new area and room. Just beautiful. We loved our stay and would highly recommend.

FANTASTIC experience right from the moment I checked in. The hosts are super friendly and helpful, and even drove me to a shop nearby when I needed a SIM card.
The property itself is PERFECT if you need a few days to relax and unwind after a stressful series of flights! The garden is lovingly manicured and even has a pool, which was a nice surprise.
They also have a FREE shuttle service from and to the airport as long as you let them know when you need it. The hotel is only 5 minutes drive from O.R. Tambo airport too, so don't get scammed (like I did) by the airport taxis (they charged me 250 rand for a 5 minute drive!).
The hotel has its own kitchen and menu and will deliver meals to your door, and they also have a small shop with toiletries, etc. which came in handy. WiFi is good too, even for video (definitely better than the airport's!😅).
So, next time you're heading to Johannesburg, definitely book Emerald Hotel. Now I just wish I had booked 5 days instead of one! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

選這裡是因為看中了免費接送機和免費早餐，然而事實上呢，最後一趟接機是晚上11點出發，我11點多到達機場，説夜裡接機就要收費了，我願意出錢，但是卻不能來到達層接我，衹能在汽車站，眾所周知，南非自然一塌糊塗，晚上在路上走被搶的概率非常高！最後我自己花錢打車去他們旅館，發現大門緊閉！旅館位置很偏，晚上連路燈都沒有，黑燈瞎火的，司機又是黑人，大家設身處地想一下，心裏慌不慌？我知道前台晚上11點下班，但是我早就郵件説明：我11點多才落地，12點多才能到，他們明明知道，但仍然沒有留人。等了很久，司機回來，才開門進去。剛開始司機不肯給我房門鑰匙，要我加200蘭特的晚入住的費用，這個費用是我不知道的，之前在攜程下單時沒有告知。第2天為了坐班車去機場，早餐也沒有時間吃。一次並不愉快的入住體驗！

If you are on a budget, we highly recommend Doves Nest- it has all a traveler needs: clean room, hot shower, comfortable bed, and a bacon and egg breakfast. Most pleasing is the free shuttle from and to the airport( which is only 5-10 minutes away.) Service was excellent too- my husband left his hearing aid in the room but one phone call and Doves Nest staff ensured it was delivered to the airport before our flight.

OK, so let's start with the 'not-so-nice stuff'. Look, it is what it is. It's a 3-star (at best), hotel that was converted from apartments into a 'suite' experience hotel. It's cheap as chips, so with that in mind you're obviously not going to expect anything flash. The towels, while clean, could certainly do with being replaced. Overall, a fresh coat of paint would not hurt and the kettle was abysmal - we actually ordered our own kettle from 60/60 - the one in the room had not been descaled in...well, ever. It's very basic accommodation, the telephone in the room didn't work and the extractor above the stove was diabolical. Now, for the good stuff. The staff are AMAZING. So friendly and super helpful, check-in was breezy and even though we arrived a full 2 hours early, we hardly had to wait for our room to be ready. Aside from what I already mentioned, the room itself was SPOTLESS and that made up for the 'niggly' bits. The location is great, just a few minutes from the airport and close to the areas we had business in. Honestly, for what one pays for this place, there are no complaints. You can order from 60/60/ Uber Eats/Mr Delivery and there is a restaurant on site - although we didn't order from them, we left early and came back fairly late so it was just simpler to order in - and they delivered to the room. So all in, if you're not in Jozi for a holiday, then this place is kind of ideal. Internet was fast enough and complimentary and as we literally only used it as a base for our dealings in the big city, it was more than adequate.

Holiday Inn Sandton does every top notch! While their restaurant is being renovated they upgraded the view that came with the delicious meals. Rather than relocate the dining room to one of their spacious internal conference rooms, they moved it to offer all diners the ”best seat in the house.” Starting the day with these views was inspiring and energizing. But the real boost of confidence comes in knowing I was staying where everything matters to this team as much as it does to me. See you again soon!

The Sandton Garden Court is a gracious hotel located next to Mandela Square. An outstanding buffet breakfast is provided daily. The staff at the front desk helpfully arranged a private tour of Johannesburg for us (cost about 2000 Rand or $100 for two of us) and it was fabulous. When my partner fell ill with a viral infection, the hotel's on-call doctor came to our room, diagnosed the problem and provided medications for symptom relief. We are very grateful and impressed with this hotel.

PPengguna TetamuStayed one night at the end of a long day on the road and thought this was the perfect antidote before flying home. The location of the hotel is quite wonderful, just over the road from the terminal and just exudes calm - much appreciated after some chaotic days. The warm and friendly welcome from Kea checking me in really set the scene for a marvellous stay. My room was wonderfully luxurious and gave me ample opportunity to recover from my travels. The swimming pool on the 8th floor is surprisingly compact, with the lifts opening directly onto the poolside, but it is perfectly fine for a morning dip. It also offers a splendid view out over the terminal and the runways beyond. The pool was not in the best condition (e.g. one of the steps on the ladder into the pool was broken) but I assume this will be addressed by the 3 week long closure and refurbishment of the 8th floor (5 July-23 July 2023). The food on offer at the hotel is quite superb. The dishes I tried from the evening dining menu, room service menu and breakfast menu were all quite superb. The French toast served up for breakfast was particularly delicious. Overall, I thought this hotel was excellent and I would happily stay here again on my next visit to South Africa.

PPengguna TetamuI am a youth leader taking a group to Port Elizabeth. Because of the way our flights worked out we had to spend the night in Johannesburg. I emailed 4 different hotels and Premiere Hotel was the only one to get back to me in a timely fashion. They were extremely helpful and responsive. Mercy was great to work with. They also arraigned transportation for all 34 of us from the airport to the hotel and once at the hotel we all ate in their restaurant and the food was wonderful. Pete, the restaurant manager, was extremely helpful. Overall Premiere hotel took what was the most stressful part of our trip and executed it wonderfully. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. The overall amenities of the hotel were absolutely wonderful. The management of this hotel should be proud. 10/10 I cannot recommend them enough.

DDesire KThis hotel is always one of my choices for overnight stay when I have an early flight. Overall service differs by days. However, I was a big disappointment with the hotel’s room service within my stay at this hotel … I called countless with no answer, I even called the front office but no luck as well. I was exhausted from my trip and wanted to order a room service. Due to their unavailability I had to make a trip downstairs to have dinner. Their amenities are average, you have to buy dental kit which costs R60. There was no shampoo, comb or shower cap in the room. Only one bottle of water in the room.
Recommended for not more than 2 days!!

PPengguna TetamuExcellent location – literally minutes away from the OR Tambo airport. There is a shuttle but it is difficult to locate it. Maybe some signage would help? Once we located it we were however in the hotel in about 5 minutes. The shuttle is quite efficient. The rooms are good sized but the bathrooms are small in comparison. The room was cleaned regularly. The coffee / tea amenities were good. The room I stayed in was however dated, needs updating of the rooms. The heater in my room did not work. I just hope it works during winter. On meals, Breakfast had a good spread on the buffet, very nice. It is the best meal of the day. Lunch and Dinner was also quite good though not as good in variety unless you use the ala carte menu. I did not use the restaurants much outside the meal times or the bar so I am not able to rate these for now. The 3 stars are largely due to the staff. Staff are generally slow, have a poor attitude and look like they have been forced to work. This was especially at the reception and in the dining. You really need friendlier staff at the reception! A good number of times staff paid more attention to speaking with their colleagues than serving guests. I would be in the middle of something with a staff member but another staff member comes to them speaking in their language and you have to wait. It happened to me too often for comfort. Never seen this anywhere else I’ve travelled. A few times they were also speaking across the room. We however met some lovely staff – a gentleman called Trust and a mature lady who was doing our eggs at breakfast, I forgot her name. Do not expect too much but it is an excellent location if having an early flight.

The maintenance and house keeping services are bad. Some reception staff are not polite on the phone when u call from the room, some are good. When u ask for something from the room, it can take more than an hour till you phone again, like when they didn't put fresh towels. The other day I called for milk as they didn't put it. The toilet flusher was faulty, not releasing after flushing, I didn't even report it because I know it won't be attended to. I lifted the cover each time and release it. We had to argue for dinner drinks where they said we get one but the voucher says 2. Even after it was solved they didn't communicate the information to others. There is just a lot.

However, it is still being renovated, and the swimming pool was not open in the summer. There should be improvement in stating that the shuttle service comes with an extra cost; it should be advertised as an option, as most stays offer shuttle services at an additional expense. The price was 200Rand, and an Uber is cheaper. The receptionist was very helpful and clear; she was super nice.

TTraveling TanI recently stayed at this hotel which left me disappointed due to their shuttle service limitations. While the overall experience was average, the lack of a 24-hour shuttle service proved to be a significant inconvenience, particularly for early morning flights.
One of the key reasons I chose this hotel was because of its location and a shuttle service to the airport. However, upon checking in, I was informed that the shuttle operated only from 7 am onwards. This was highly inconvenient as my flight departure time was earlier. I approached the receptionist to inquire about alternative options, hoping for some flexibility or assistance, but was met with an unhelpful suggestion to order an Uber instead.
Having previously stayed at other hotels near airports, I had come to expect a 24-hour shuttle service as the norm. It was disappointing to find that this particular hotel did not offer the same level of convenience. Given the additional cost associated with using ride-hailing services like Uber, this unforeseen expense was an unwelcome surprise.
In conclusion, if you have early morning flights or rely on a reliable 24-hour shuttle service, I would caution against choosing this particular hotel. I would recommend exploring other nearby options that prioritize customer convenience and provide a more accommodating shuttle service.

However, please know these drawbacks before you book: 1. we booked from USA and tried to contact them about airport transport by repeated emails and phone, then tried at the airport to learn the published number on the website was wrong. 2. the one staff member seemed to have so many responsibilities she was hardly ever at the front desk if you needed something and there was no way given to contact her. 3. The room was very sp****ly furnished with one towel for two people (at request provided another), no kettle for tea or coffee, bathroom faucet loose, no hairdryer, no tv signal, no tv remote. 4. No information given or in room about TV, internet password, amenities available. 5. Transportation to airport was not free as indicated on website; we were charged R250 for two passengers. However, they were timely for an early morning flight.

The room was comfortable and clean. What I did not expect and nor was I warned about the problem with the water supply. It had clearly been an issue before and was an issue on the night I checked in. I booked the room on my arrival from a US inbound flight and I had missed my connecting flight to Durban. I booked at the last minute and they had a room available. When I called to see if they had a room available the person I spoke to should have said they are having water issues and that I may have no water to shower that night, she did not. It was only after I had paid and went into the room that I was made aware of the water problem. At that point I was too tired to argue and there was a little water in the morning to have a quick shower. I left very early so did not raise this with the owners at the time. The water supply has been an issue and they either need to make a plan to fix it when the problem occurs or the make guests aware of the problem before they arrive. I know it has been a problem in the past because they had printed signs in the rooms to explain the issue and the signs were old. It is a pity as I would have given them a far better rating had I been made aware at the time. I was not even offered a discount on the room rate.
