We did a sister trip for our birthdays and thru the recommendation of a dear friend we were able to get a room here and we couldn’t have been happier. Everything was amazing from the location which is perfectly centrally located, to the room and most importantly the hosts from Joanna and Kaui to everyone I spoke to at the desk. Working in the industry for 27 years I know good customer service when I feel it … and the host of the Maui Coast Hotel are top notch! My sister and I can’t wait to go back! This hotel simply was far above what we expected!!! It is in a GREAT location!!! It has easy access to the Kahului Airport and is right across the street from the beach!! The room was roomy, comfortable and more than what we were expecting!! There was a nice patio were we sat and had morning coffee. There is a pool and hot tub as well as laundry facilities on site. Staff was very friendly as well. We could not have expected more. Thank you you the staff of the Kohea Kai Maui for a fabulous stay for our anniversary!!! We will definitely be back!!

Checked in early and managed to get a better room than the one I was initially slated to stay in. View was amazing. Been to the Grand Wailea a couple times before but this was the first visit where I went to check out the fitness center and found it to be a highlight of the stay. Lots of great equipment, open 24 hrs, and almost always empty (except for early in the morning when I saw a few other guests). Wish I could use the facility without being a guest. If I had to pick a downside to it, then it would probably be renovations going on. Although the noise never bothered me during the stay, it was mostly an aesthetic annoyance with the signs and blocked off areas.

We normally stay at 5 Diamond hotels but since the prices and availability have risen so quickly we opted to book at the Residence Inn. Wow, what a pleasant surprise! The staff is friendly and helpful. The room is actually the size of a studio apartment with a kitchenette. Two full size queen beds with a pull out sofa too. Lots of outlets to plug in all your electronics and no need to move furniture to find them. Full buffet breakfast included daily. I’m gluten free and had plenty of options to choose from each day. Pool & spa are open late, live music Tuesday & Friday, great bar menu and the bartender, Chewy, is the best!! We went off road ATV’ing and our clothes were filthy with red dirt… guest what? Guest laundry 24/7 along with detergent to buy at the front desk. We will definitely stay here again. We met a few other people who shared it was their first time at the hotel too and they were very impressed. Book this hotel now, you’ll be happy you did!

The resort, though currently undergoing construction, managed to provide a peaceful and rejuvenating escape, leaving us enamored with its charm. Sunset enthusiasts, like my son and I, were treated to an unparalleled spectacle each evening. The resort's prime location gifted us with mesmerizing sunset views, painting the skies with vibrant hues of orange and pink, creating an enchanting backdrop against the tranquil waters. Despite the ongoing construction, the tranquility of Maui Bay Villas was preserved. The staff went above and beyond to ensure minimal disturbance, and their amiable demeanor added a welcoming touch to our stay. Their friendliness and willingness to assist with any request greatly enhanced our overall experience. While the ambiance and scenery were exceptional, one aspect that fell a tad short was the limited dining options available on the property. Although the quality of food served was satisfactory, having a wider variety would have added more culinary delight to our stay. Exploring nearby eateries became part of our adventure, allowing us to savor the diverse flavors of Maui. In summary, Maui Bay Villas is a hidden gem offering stunning sunsets, a welcoming beach club, and a serene ambiance despite ongoing construction. The friendly staff contributed to a memorable stay, even though the dining choices on-site were somewhat limited. This was my first time to Maui. We loved the AC hotel. It is a smallish hotel. It has a beautiful infinity swimming pool and nice large spa. The patio area has a nice bar and they will serve you appetizers. The pool towels were always stocked. Many chairs and lounges with umbrellas. You can see the ocean from the pool but not the waves. The breakfast was very good. They had hot items that they made for you as well as a buffet of the cold items. Good coffee and many drinks to choose from. The last day they raised the all you can eat breakfast from $25 to $30. So that was a bummer. The room was very clean and minimalistic. We stayed on the garden side. Our adult son and wife were on the pool side and they said it was somewhat noisy. The pool closes at 9 pm. The view wasn’t that great of the ocean and it was an increased cost. The mattress was quite firm but not uncomfortable. It was about the firmest mattress that I have ever had in a hotel. I slept okay, but I would not say the mattress felt luxurious. The area the hotel is in is gorgeous. The ocean is fairly close. You may be able to walk but we drove. I met a woman who was a Maui native. She was having breakfast in the hotel . She was just there to have breakfast with a friend. She said that this hotel is a little gem. I agree and I would definitely stay there again. The Monkeypod restaurant is a short walk up the hill. The food was delicious. You would probably need a reservation.
