Exceptional , family run hotel in the heart of Killarney. The “Tower” room was just gorgeous for an overnight-massive king size bed which was so comfy. The breakfast was yummy. Lots of choice from the full Irish to kippers to omelette. Plenty of fresh fruit and yogurt too. Kelly Anne as front of house was very interested in her guests, chatty but not intrusive. Overall, a great spot to stay.

Wonderful stay at McSweeneys , room very comfortable with every amenity supplied warm with cosy comfortable beds . Breakfast delicious with great selection.. we had kippers which were amazing. Staff friendly and helpful and Kelley Anne at front desk answered all our questions in a warm and friendly manner !

I cannot express enough just how amazing the McSweeney family and each and every one of their staff are. We have been going to Killarney for a decade for the racing festivals and I can honestly say we feel like part of the family. I personally am well and truly spoilt when staying , nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are of an excellent standard and the same people return year after year proving just how popular this hotel is. The atmosphere is always of a friendly & good spirited nature and I for one, never look to stay anywhere else, I highly recommend!

I went to the bar of this hotel with friends for a few drinks before the races. The barman Jason was so welcoming I was really impressed. He’s a real professional and I’m looking forward to calling back in there on my next trip to Killarney. This is true Irish hospitality.

Went in for a drink with my friend we asked the bartender who was working did they have a drinks menu he replied no and walked off from then. I then called him to order a drink he asked for my ID which is no problem at all I handed him my ID and asked me to take it out of my phone to show him so I just handed him my age card and he replied rudely is there a problem that I asked you for ID. I said no problem at all as I had handed it to him??? He basically threw my ID back at me and told me to get out very rudely and said I was giving him cheek when I did no such thing…. As someone who is 21 and is from around killarney and as someone who’s in a bar myself he was extremely rude towards us and I felt very humiliated. He was a male bartender maybe early 50s I would not recommend if you are under the age of 25 to come here for a drink!!

Thanks McSweeney arms for a great 5 day stay in Killarney. Staff, room and food excellent - particularly the 'Wild Atlantic' breakfast. I accidentally left my house keys in the bedroom when I checked out and they'd rung to see if they were mine even before they were missing and then posted them straight on to me.

I overheard one of the owners or managers i dont know which but they were treating one of the staff terribly, she questioned if the staff member was"stupid" my friend and i just left, i felt so sorry for the staff member.

awesome service...family owned and they care about their guests. rooms are tight but that's to be expected. breakfast was great and the staff is all over you. attached pub is a must each night. perfect location, close to bars, restaurants, ATMs, etc. tell Kelly Anne we said hello!

Excellent hotel and staff. I would highly recommend McSweeney Arms. The family is amazing and takes great pride in their hospitality. The food was great and the attached bar/restaurant is a great way to end the night.
