I was on a business trip and decided to bring my mom along so she could relax and enjoy herself. **Facilities** They offer a table tennis room, a swimming pool, and a gym. No robots for food delivery pick-up though. **Hygiene** Clean. **Environment** The overall environment is good. The old five-star hotel is very well maintained; it doesn't feel old or dated. The room was newly renovated, but the sense of space wasn't huge, and the bathroom was a bit small. **Service** The service attitude was excellent and professional.

My sibling and I stayed here, and the view was fantastic! It's close to People's Square and easy to hail a taxi. When checking in, we had two separate reservations for our two nights and one night stay. We asked if we could combine them into one room for three consecutive nights, and they happily accommodated us. Since one of the nights would have been a downgrade, they even added breakfast for two for all three days, lol. It was so good! They have staff who can speak Korean, and the machines are well-equipped. Everyone is so friendly, especially the staff – I love them! They also helped us with all our delivery pickups. I'm taking away wonderful memories from my first trip to Shanghai!!! And at checkout, Sandy and Lily were incredibly kind, helping with our luggage storage and giving us drink coupons, making the end of our stay great, lol. The view is excellent, and the accessibility is superb, so I think Koreans would also have a comfortable stay! Highly recommended!! I heard the pool was good too, but unfortunately, I didn't get to use it because we were busy sightseeing, lol. Anyway! Highly, highly recommended!!

We were there for 2 nights during our first trip to Shanghai & China and we were travelling with our 11 year girl. We moved from Hyatt on the Bund. The location was excellent for someone who wants to be in the middle of all action and at the other end of Nanjing Walking Street. You have the best walking street with all huge showrooms the family would want to visit including M&M, Lego, Miniso, Huawei within walking distance. Eric (Manager) was very kind and helpful to give us and all the guests a very special treatment and seeing we are enjoying our stay. We stayed in a duck themed room which was quite good in size and amenities. The breakfast spread was good but could be improved to accommodate Asian / western options. There was a McDonald’s / subway / Pakistani kebab place right below the building. The area felt very safe and not far from bund. The swimming pool and gym was nice as well. We did not get the time to visit the rooftop bar. Overall it was a good stay and we would not hesitate to return or recommend for others

The service was excellent across the board, the pool was great for a swim, and breakfast offered the usual five-star Chinese and Western options, plus the Garden Hotel's special Japanese breakfast 😎. The room was clean and spacious, with soft, comfortable bedding. The soundproofing was excellent; despite being close to the station, I barely heard any noise at night and slept very soundly. The bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, and the amenities were comprehensive. The desk and chair were also perfect for business travelers. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of fresh food, including freshly made omelets. The hotel also has an indoor heated pool and a gym, great for unwinding after a busy day. It's suitable for both business trips and short getaways. Accor's quality is trustworthy, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Shanghai!

While passing Nanjing West Road recently, this InterContinental 'Luxury Collection' hotel immediately caught my eye. And just as I expected, critical as she is, she complimented my taste the moment she walked in. Its most appealing features are its convenient location and its ability to be a tranquil oasis amidst the bustle: step outside, and you're on the vibrant Nanjing Road; turn around, and you're in the quiet serenity of a residential area. My friend said the elevator decor instantly made her feel like she'd 'traveled through time,' and that unique 'Haitian style' evoked long-lost memories of Shanghai. She had originally come to sightsee but happily spent most of her day lingering at the hotel. What she loved most were the terrace and the restaurant. On a summer evening, the breeze felt just like those childhood nights spent cooling off in the alleyways – she used to live in a Shikumen house. She remarked, 'If only I could lie in a wicker chair, fan myself with a palm-leaf fan, eat watermelon, and watch an outdoor movie, that would be truly divine.' She also adored the red hanging ornament in the lobby; it was vibrantly bright, yet its glass texture gave it a lively feel, much like Shanghai's character – passionate yet steady, with a touch of lightness within its composure. The food did not disappoint either. I pushed her to try the Shiqipu Noodle Restaurant, where the owner asked in Shanghainese, 'Mi dao ai hao fa?' (Is the taste good?), and she smiled and replied, 'Authentic,' instantly tearing up. She specifically bought the sweet variety of butterfly pastries from the International Hotel – saying 'only sweet is truly Shanghai.' Her only regret was: having stayed in too many foreign-style grand hotels, this time, with Shanghai elements everywhere and Shanghai flavors in every bite, it was 'just missing the sound of Shanghai.' However, she has already declared: the next time she returns, this will be her chosen hotel, and she plans to visit all the routes I arranged. I believe the charm of Shanghai has never been in its superficial glamour but in its ability to always find the most fitting way to blend East and West, ancient and modern, living as a unique 'Haipai' (Shanghai style). This is also the root that every Shanghainese person cherishes. Below are the three half-day itinerary options I created for her, which I've also compiled here, hoping they might help someone else: Option 1 · A Stroll Through Old Shanghai Charm Start from the hotel's main entrance on Fengyang Road and turn into Huanghe Road. The Changjiang Building and Changjiang Theater were the last residences of Eileen Chang; Huanghe Road is the origin of 'Blossoms Shanghai' (Fan Hua). The International Hotel is where her mother and aunt once stayed; next to it, the Sports Museum is rumored to be where Eileen Chang used to study. Diagonally opposite is the History Museum (formerly the Racecourse); the East Wing houses the old bronze lions from the HSBC Building on the Bund, and the 'Echoes of Shanghai' exhibition in the West Wing happens to talk about the past of Fengyang Road. The ornate windows of the West Wing and the Changjiang Building, mirroring the hotel's architecture, perfectly showcase the most fashionable Art Deco style of the 1930s. Option 2 · Tracing Red Memories Walk along Chengdu North Road to the Secretariat of the China Labor Movement, to see how Shanghai workers united into a revolutionary force; then visit the former site of the Songpu Special Committee. Go to the Sihang Warehouse to hear the echoes of the Battle of Shanghai and see the bullet-riddled walls recount the tragedy of that year. At night, turn into Xiang Kang Li on Xinchang Road to find the former site of the CCP Central Committee's secret printing press; on Nanjing West Road, there is also the former site of the Soviet Liaison Office, where, amidst the flickering lights, memories of the past reside. Option 3 · Modern and Retro Collision The LV 'Big Boat' on Nanjing West Road is currently a popular spot for photos; after visiting, turn into Wujiang Road for shopping and dining, and further ahead is Zhangyuan Shikumen – where new trends emerge in old alleyways, perfect for capturing stunning photos. Food Tips · The hotel restaurant's afternoon tea set is exquisite and picture-perfect. · Shiqipu Noodle Restaurant (the owner's Shanghainese is a living signboard). · Deda Western Restaurant and Gongdelin Noodle Restaurant, each with its own charm. · Donghai Small Restaurant (authentic Ningbo cuisine). · Chongming cuisine on the second floor of the hotel, authentic local flavors. · International Hotel butterfly pastries, remember to choose the sweet ones. Though the day was short, the essence of Shanghai will give her much to savor. When she returns next time, we'll continue our journey.

Facilities: Initially, I encountered some minor issues, but these were resolved after I moved to the Deluxe Balcony King Room. The room and bed were quite large, making for a comfortable stay. Environment: The hotel is only a few hundred meters from the Bund, offering an excellent location with direct views of the 'Three-piece Suit' (Lujiazui skyline). The outdoor scenery is fantastic. Service: The hotel's service was excellent, with many activities available, such as soap making, a Bund city walk, and guided tours like the Yu Garden Lantern Night. They also offered travel photography services, and both the makeup artist and photographer were highly skilled. Overall, it was a great experience.

The lobby atrium is a design highlight, featuring a 26-meter-high glass ceiling and a glass 'sky escalator' connecting the first to fourth floors, seamlessly integrating natural light – it's absolutely beautiful. The Lobby Lounge, located in the atrium, is surrounded by palm trees and flowing water, evoking a Southeast Asian vibe. It subtly encourages visitors to pause, enjoy the scenery, chat, and sip tea – truly a delightful way to live. While the guest rooms aren't huge, their overall layout is well-planned and facilities are comprehensive. The Heavenly Bed is truly captivating; the soft, delicate, clean, and skin-friendly bedding enhances a deeply immersive dream. Three floor-to-ceiling windows offer panoramic city views – the more you stay, the more you'll love it! The Stage restaurant offers a bountiful buffet breakfast, with both Chinese and Western options. The omelets are shaped like egg dumplings and taste great, the croissants are quite good, the tofu pudding is delicious, and the latte coffee is also pleasant. We didn't get to try the Chinese restaurant as it was hosting a wedding banquet. The hotel also has a full range of fitness equipment and an indoor heated swimming pool. It's a truly joyful experience to relax and unwind here.

Location of the hotel is excellent but do note that when taking didi / taxi, they will not be able to pick / drop you directly in front of the hotel, but the walk is minimal, like less than 5 minutes. Metro station is also around the corner, like about 8 minutes walk. Lots of restaurants just directly opposite the hotel. Hotel deco is a bit old, sound proofing not good, always can hear when people walk / run pass the corridor, sometimes can even hear voices from next door. Can see the Oriental Pearl from the corridor. Don't like the tubed toiletries, especially if you are travelling with others, just 1 tube of body wash (eg) might not be sufficient for 1 day's use. Will consider staying here again if visiting SH again during non-peak season.

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The hotel is beautiful, comfortable, and the location is absolutely fantastic — very convenient for exploring the city. There are just two areas that I think could be improved. First, when me & my daughter came to the hotel with 3 bif lugguages, the bell staff did not assist with carrying our luggage, which was a little disappointing Second, I found the bathroom quite stuffy as there was no proper ventilation or exhaust fan. Improving the ventilation would make the room much more comfortable.

Before I went, I saw reviews saying the scenery was great and breakfast was amazing. After staying there, I truly understood the meaning of those words. Lujiazui, the river view, and the Bund are all within sight. In the morning, you can watch the sun slowly rise, with the morning glow painting the glass walls and the river. At night, the neon lights create a magnificent view. No need to squeeze with crowds on the Bund; you can just relax in your room, sip hotel coffee, and slowly enjoy the view. It truly feels like being in a fairyland. The breakfast includes Chinese, Western, and Japanese options, and the meats have no artificial flavors, making them really authentic.

The movie element was everywhere - from the front desk reception to how your room key looks. So festive, especially for movie lovers! 🎬 The room was comfortable - especially the bed. The shower had a waterfall feature which is always great - soaps and shampoos smelled nice. The front desk was super helpful to help me find a package and also contacted us about a shirt we left behind. They went above and beyond! We would stay here again!
